The Good, The bad and the ugly

in the HTC EVO V 4G / EVO 3D (CDMA) forum

The wonderful news is the new EVO will have a 1.2 ghz dual processor. 1 gig Rom. A larger battery. qHD screen. Dedicated camera button. 3D is interesting and gimmicky, but may have a place for some although it really doesn't mean much to me. The bad, what happened to the kick stand? Why in the world not include more internal memory or a larger sd Card. From what I picked up it's still using 8 gigs a year ...

How about pushing that long over due Froyo update!!! Long over due. Sprint keeps people held at bay. What is wrong with this phone that Froyo isn't being pushed???

Re: Battery
Mar 4, 2011, 8:05 AM
in the HTC ThunderBolt forum

I currently have the htc evo. The battery size on that is 1500 and the thunderbolt is 1400. Using 4g does take a big hit on the battery and even if the LTE on verizon is more effieciently why stock a smaller battery in the first place. With that, I have heard of battery issues and a skype issue with this phone. All speculation, but there have been long delays with this phone... I want to leave Sprint and ...

It might not be a bad idea that you pay the 50 bucks and get the replacement phone and sell it for 100 or 150 in real good shape. I am waiting for the release of this phone too. Hope it comes out soon

in the Apple iPhone 4 (GSM) forum

I have to tell you as a first time android owner I am completely sold on the HTC EVO product. I normally find flaws of some sort on almost every phone I have owned in the last decade. I have found nothing wrong with it. That could change but, it just all works and very well. If you have the ability and it sounds like you do, try the phone out. Give it a few days to see if ...

Iphone 4 or HTC EVO 4G make your vote
Jun 8, 2010, 12:51 PM
in the Apple iPhone 4 (GSM) forum

I can see there is going to be allot of people making their personal choice. I can see reasons for both. My personal vote is against AT&T rates and service. This holds nothing against the Iphone 4. So, EVO it is and I think it's also a great phone. Let's get an unbiased vote count.

I have never used an android phone. I am currently using a palm pre for all my email accounts 4 hotmails, 1 yahoo and 1 gmail. All which sync perfectly with the palm. Will the EVO handle all my accounts in the same manor?

I think where we are at with technology is wonderful. Just like any technology it has to be proven and purposed. Bottom line is it's gotta work. Smart phones are still in their infancy on the grand scheme of things. It has been a bumpy road, but you can really feel that with each evolution in smartphone tech they get better and better.

lol, well... I'm certainly am not here to convince anyone not to step out onto their next cell phone purchase. I'm certainly not overly zealous enough to leap onto anything as I have learned like with the htc touch pro and palm pre that the tech is only as good as the provider that backs it. Is Sprint ready for this phone who knows. Time will tell and I will follow the forums on it religiously before pulling the ...

I think that 2 years is a bit of a stretch considering that in the first line in the paragraph states that the chips have all ready begun shipping out. So, hopefully this major trend lately to top the next great thing will get this chip out. The 1.3 snapdragon is knocking on the door all ready so hopefully we see something early next year... One can only hope so no I won't be holding my breath...

I'm getting more on the fence every day now. Mixed results with 4g and much reduced battery life while using it leaves a lump in my throat. It does clearly seem like a remarkable phone. Maybe the real problem, is Sprint 4G really ready for this device and does the extra cost merit it at this time? Time will tell. Many upcoming innovations are here and in the very near future. I myself have a preorder on the ...

If this ships out later this year I might have hold off on this instead of getting the HTC EVO 4G. I like the idea of the HTC EVO, but I don't get the impression SPRINT is really ready for it with 4G. Seems like a tremendous leaps lately in cell phone technology and on the near horizon.

Bottom line, will this phone tether without getting the 29.95 upgrade
May 19, 2010, 7:47 AM

Right now I have a palm pre that i use for work purposes to get on the internet. Is there a feeling that this phone will be capable of doing that without getting the 29.95 upgrade program? I know the phone isn't out yet, but this phone seems like one worthy upgrade... WIll it tether with a cord or without one. Otherwise, I have to stick with my palm pre. :o

Believe it or not, i was calling BS on that very topic. I thought there is no way it wouldn't work. I bought the micro usb tip, plugged it in, and looky there... Nothin. I was shocked. Yes, it does have Gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc. It has been reported that the email feature has a tendancy to lock up on this phone. So, far, I have had no real issues with it. I honestly have to say after owning the a900, lg fusic and muziq, this is a welcome change. Great phone...

I currently own the muziq and have been very pleased with it. Battery life has never been an issue for me. I have enjoyed many of its useful features. Especially the email push. The only thing I wish was better about the phone is the speaker phone. Just could be a little louder. I don't really care for the music player, but I know that was Sprints doing. I hope you enjoy your phone...

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the style of the muziq as well. The v9m has nice features, but am at a loss as to why it was decided to take such a nice phone like the v9m and dumb it down. Muziq and email push

I have been programming my email accounts into my phone. Most are successful except my yahoo account and my pop3 account. I can blame my lack of total ability to understand all the steps needed to do the pop3 account, but absolutely no success with my yahoo. I keep receiving a notice that says unable to connect to server (S7122). Anyone have any tips?

It's nice to see that Sprint finally has another phone for their company coming out. Their weak selections lately make me wonder whats going on with the company. Other than some cosmetic changes what we have is the same old fusic repackaged. Bluetooth 1.1, same screen, 1.3 megapixal. I mean, come on do a little improvement to make it more appealing!!! I currently own the original Fusic. It's ability to just hold more memory just doesn't seem to merrit ...

LG Fusic vs. Samsung M610

in the Samsung SPH-M610 forum

I'm wanting people's comparisons between the fusic and M610. I got a Fusic as a replacement for a a900 which I had several known issues. I can only hope the M610 has been an improvement over the a900 and corrected all or most of the issues. Battery life, freezing up and bad reception to top off the list. My wife is eyeing my fusic if I go for a M610 or Sanyo M1. Trying to figure out ...

I currently own the Fusic as a warranty replacement from many Samsung A900 failures. It's a fine phone overall, but after checking out the new Sanyo M1 I'm debating giving my fusic to my wife and going after this phone. Is it worth it to get this phone and is this phone bigger in size compared to it?

All I can tell you after owning this phone for a couple days is, the night shooting is far worst than any phone I have owned to date. It is shocking to be honest. The day pics are fine. I currently own the Sanyo SCP-5500 / VM-4500 and want to know if my car charger will still work and my Futuredial snapsync and snapdialer software will still work with this new mm-5600 phone. I heard that you can't use the phone as a modem anymore. IS this true. Or can I still use the software for data downloading etc.
