So I take this to mean the people who bought the S7 with the idea they would be able to upgrade to the new phone in 12 months are SOL?

My fear is not that my child is skipping school it is more of that the boogie man ate them. If there phone is checking into school and home at the right times i can feel safe.
However, if there phone keeps showing it is in a ditch then i have something to worry about...

There is actually a company out there called kajeet that is actually doing fairly well. I got them for my child and the gps logging is really cool. tells me where she is at every day at the times i request.

The term disruptive pricing strictly references to the current market place. The idea being that the plan is so radically different competitors have to change their plans or see an exodus of their customers.
So this has nothing to do with your old plan it is only fair to gauge it to current plan pricing in which case once again sprint has over promised and under delivered on the disruptive pricing claim.

Not really all that different.
While compared to their old plans this is a much better plan, this is not really that much better then what T-mobile offers to ALL of it's customers.
IT is marginally better (you can put your device on payments) then boost, virgin, att and countless other prepaid plans. I would actually rate this plan worse then ATT and T-mobile prepaid plans because they offer the ability to hotspot/tether your device.
Once again sprint has over promised and under delivered ...

Do you have any idea how confusing that is to the average T-mobile customer that just wants to get there phone cut back on! Think of all that bidness they are missing out on be cause y'all charge way too much, they are just going to all switch to cricket when there contract is up!

We will see how much involvement they want from the FCC after the FCC squashes the Tmobile Sprint merger.
I would like to point out though that this "Business" Is federally regulated. It is so regulated they have to get the government's approval for plan pricing changes. It is actually kind of hard to believe that the Government has yet to regulate roaming agreements in the name of consumer protection.

Basically it is cloud storage. Requires a windows account to share things with people.
GDrive has cloud storage. A majority of people have a gmail addy to share files with. It also includes Google Docs for free which is perfect for document collaboration.
Why would any one choose onedrive over Google drive?
As a side note all google fiber subscribers (which I am) get a TB of storage as part of their internet package.

Great they updated something that no one uses. Good for them! They can update it all they want it will never compete with Google drive until they offer office 360 for free.

When Sprint launched WiMax service they never intended it to be a competitor to LTE. Sprint Launched WiMax over 2 Years before LTE was commercially available. Sprint always intended WiMax to be a gap technology, something to give them an edge until LTE was ready.
Once LTE was ready for deployment Sprint Kept with its original plan to evolve to LTE. Now that it's useres have upgraded their WiMax Phones to LTE phones they are ready to convert the WiMax ...

Actually it is a simple matter of physics. the power is not magically disappearing it is actually being absorbed by the antenna of mobile devices. Radio waves are a form of radiant energy measured in dB. When a radio receives said wares it transfers energy from said waves into electricity to be transmitted through the electrical circuits of your phone to be changed into your web page or phone call.

What stations will jump at the chance to sell their spectrum in the hopes that they might possibly be able to share with another station? The only station that would would have to be struggling in the first place and a change in channel would result in an even greater drop in viewers.

The minute you leave the city limits of most metropolitan areas you are in 2g and by 2g that is GSRM not EDGE. out side the cities T-mobile lags far behind.Forget using Google maps for your road trip if you have t-mobile. At least Sprint and Verizon have a decent 3g EVDO coverage across their entire network.

I think you may have misread the post. The article never used the word "Entire". The article is true. It simply states LTE is nation wide covering 202 million people. In the united states you can substantiate that claim with a relatively small foot print.
One could factually claim nation wide coverage if they only had service in LA and New York.

This is not the first time Samsung has done this Concept in a phone. First it was the Behold then the Memoir. Both sold reasonably well, of course they were limited by the lack of android. This phone with android + photo apps available through android very well could be a hit.

Analog circuit based technology is by far more reliable for telecommunications then IP networking. Many of the real time communications we have today are not feasible over an based network. That is why we still use the analog networks. Even fiber optic networks are still analog biased.

Revenue is not what makes a monopoly. Monopoly is defined by market share. By market share apple is a very small market. They only have 6% of the os market share where as Microsoft is 90%.

BTW Apple is not a monopoly. They are a software company, which is by far smaller the Microsoft. In terms of Apple Itunes. yes they have done unfair market practices and have faced sanctions in the past as a result. the most recent was in regards to e-books.

You are all just trying to be too witty and intellectual about it. I am not talking about the letter of the law here weather it has a legal biases. I just find it very humorous that a relatively obscure century old law is being applied to the latest technology.
