Vrz is has good coverage here in Gainesville, Fl.(32614), but not great 3 miles east of here or 10 miles southwest of there.
But they do have very good coverage on Long Island, New York (11706).
As for me changing carriers, as long as the other 3 major "players" cover those two areas mentioned above I would be willing to switch.

I been a vrz customer for the last few months, and I use a LG VX-6000.
But I would love to upgrade to the VX-8000. I know how vrz takes their time in releasing their "new phones". I know about the VX-7000, which I really don't care for.
My one year contract w/vrz is up in 1/2005, does anyone think that the VX-8000 will be available before my contract is up?

The reason why I am asking, is because "Consumer Reports" didn't even have(Cingular) a rating for the New York area in it's Febuary 2004 issue.
I would like to hear from people who use this area carrier on a everyday basis. On Long island in both counties.

I have changed carriers a number of times, and the best part of doing that, is yes, I get a "NEW NUMBER"!
By getting a new number, I filter out the "people" I don't want to talk to anymore. It really isn't that hard to give the people you want to talk ...

I guess in a way I lucky! My contract expired recently, and I looking forward to all the carriers fighting over my business.

I would suggest Verizon is probably a better bet to deal with. I haven't heard Great things about T- Mobile, Cingular or Sprint.
