Guess it's all on where you live. Here in the SF/Bay Area, my coverage on TM is great...better than some of my friends on AT&T. Though I do admit when I get out in the boonies, it can get pretty scarce. Not sure about the "churn", PhoneArena just posted this about 5-million + customer's renewing their contracts w/T-Mobile: http://www.phonearena.com/news /T-Mobile-renews-5-million-customers-from-Jun e-through-August_id22202

Sorry, I stand corrected! It's "MVNO" not MNVO...my apologies! It stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operator". MVNO's are wireless companies that have their own brand, marketing, retail outlets, and phone offerings, but use another operators infrastructure (towers and network) instead of building or operating their own. TracFone is a large MVNO (mobile virtual network Operator) providing service in all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. TracFone has MVNO relationships with multiple major carriers, using a ...

Hey TBone...you're partially right. Tracfone is a "MNVO" operator, meaning they piggy-back off and share the bandwidth on other major carriers. Like Virgin Mobile uses Sprint's Network. Tracfone is very large, so depending on what part of the US your in, you could be on Verizon's or Sprints CDMA network, or AT&T's or T-Mobile's GSM network. You're right in the sense that Tracfone is not part of AT&T, but they don't have their very own network like ...

Thanks Symlax! I re-entered the new contact this time through the website and it seemed to work. I have spoken to tech support and get a wide variety of answers, but no one seems to either know directly how to fix it, or I get the impression that they think I have no idea what I'm talking about, or my problem is not real. I could try your alternate solution, but then I would lose all my addresses, etc, for ...

Does anyone else hate T-Mobile's phonebook back-up system?
Nov 16, 2009, 2:02 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

I'm about to "hurl" my phone at the wall, flush it down the toilet, or do something "bad" to T-Mobile! I hate the My T-Mobile address book back-up system! The problem was worse with the Samsung T-659 I had, but is happening again with the Sony Ericsson Equinox I just purchased. I finally get the address book in and right, but then I simply try to enter in a new entry. When my phone then talks to ...

I am also strongly considering the 8900, but am waiting for the new Google phone to see what's that like. I currently have the BB-Pearl-Flip which does get MMS pics through text, but it has a smaller screen and slower processor. So even though the 8900 is not 3G, I've been told they have sped-up the processor a bit compared to previous BB models...such as the Pearl-flip, which I have. Good luck with your choice! And thanks again to ...

Freediver...just want to say "shop around" for another T-Mobile store, and make sure it's a corporate store as Smylax has stated. I go to a store here in the Bay Area of CA, and all the reps in there are "stellar"!! I have even sent a letter to their manager stating how pleased I have been with the knowledge and level of customer service I have received at this particular store. This store also happens to ...

Thanks for the info! :) I'm going to try and be patient and check out the new Google phone when it comes out before making a decision on the 8900. I'm just dealing with a phone (BB-flip) that has some issues due to being dropped. Have no Bluetooth at the moment because of it. Also heard there is another BB down the road, but it's supposed to be a lesser model than the 8900? ...

Found your previous post on the subject Symlax, Thanks! I've seen the preview of the new G2 on PhoneArena, but it doesn't list the weight of the G2. Do you happen to know what the weight of it will be? It must be a little lighter than the G1 due to being all touch and no keypad. Just wondering. Someone I know who had the G1 ended up going with the Blackberry due to him feeling ...

My humblest apologies! I should have indexed it to see if the subject had been previously discussed or brought up. I did try indexing "Blackberry vs Google" and "Blackberry vs Android" on Howard Forums, but did not come up with anything direct or concrete, so I was just guessing this and other forums would be the same. I have played around briefly with the G1 in the store, currently have a BB-flip...thinking of either waiting for the G2 or getting the BB-8900. I have a BB for awhile now...am used to it and like it, but thinking some of the app's and things the G1 or G2 can do would be fun/useful. Per PhoneArena.com, it'll be in May. If you go to their website, click on Verizon phones, then "upcoming" phones, you'll see the Niagara there. Their also coming out with a BB Pearl Flip like T-Mobile has, though I like the Niagara better due to better camera and world roaming/GSM. Check it out! :) Chris

Jawbone 2 vs BlueAnt Z9i...which one is most comfortable? Best performing?
Jul 21, 2008, 7:18 PM

Currently have a Moto-710. Very comfortable and easy to use. But get constant complaints that I sound awful on it. Either they are telling me "you sound like your underwater", or the wind noise is so bad it garbles every other word. Between the Jawbone 2 and the BlueAnt Z9i. Heard the Jawbone is fantastic as long as you can keep that little "nubbin" on your jaw/cheek. But yet there have been complaints about getting ...

Software glitch in calendar & alarms?
May 24, 2008, 2:31 PM
in the Samsung Blast SGH-T729 forum

Seems like there is a "software" glitch in the organizer section of the phone...particularily with the events calendar and the alarms. A message will pop-up on the main screen "9 calendar events" and then I click on the soft-key to view...nothing. The phone will just go back to it's main screen. Then sometimes the phone will reset itself by shutting off/on if I don't close the slider right away, and had left the phone open. Then if I try ...

I agree with JoeNash...the Curve would be nice and have everything re: Wi-Fi & Hotspot @ Home. (Found out the Curve has this through the reps I deal with @ T-Mobile). But if the Sidekick is "calling your name", then go with that! :D I like the Sidekick too, but I like the direct e-mail push that my Dash has. Don't know if I could give that up! Sorry All...wasn't my intention on being misleading or giving false hopes. I guess everything just happen to fall in place for me in a timely fashion, so I took it for granted that it had something to do with the trouble ticket. I actually had tried twice prior in the last 3-4 years to sign-up with T-Mobile...but it wasn't until late last year, or early part of 2007 that coverage improved.

Your Welcome! :) The best to you and your decision! For me as far as deadspots, I have not had one yet...at least here in the Bay Area, CA. When I lodged my trouble ticket, I was a customer under a 14-day trial. When at the time (2-3 years ago) it appeared that it wasn't going to work out, I went back to T-Mobile to close my account. Let me tell you, there was no whining ...

I was also with Verizon up to March of this year. I was with VZW back when they were GTE Wireless! I switched to T-Mobile and currently have the Dash with $39-voice, $19-unlimited data & internet, + $4.99 text plan. I left not only for pricing...I save about $25 a month over the same similar plan that I would have had with VZW. The other reason was customer service. Verizon started to get this attitude...especially ...

I wouldn't necessarily say that "all" Motorola camera's are bad...prior to my current phone, The Dash, I had a Moto V325 through Verizon and it only had a VGA camera. But man, it took some awesome pics for a VGA camera! Better than my Dash, which has a 1.3 megapixel. Some of the pics from my V325 I forwarded via-E-mail to my computer at home and was very surprised at the quality of them. From what I've ...

Dash to SK3, would I really be taking a step down?
Aug 23, 2007, 5:19 PM

I currently have the Dash with the $39-My Faves plan, + $29-Total Internet, + $4.99 Text. Due to being in a slight financial bind, I am considering switching to the Sidekick with the $39-My Faves, + $19 Sidekick add-on plan because it would save me $15 a month. Would I be taking a real big step down in phone, call quality, functionality, etc? Would appreciate any opinions. Thinking about going on E-Bay to see if anyone wants to trade ...

I've never really had a chance to use VZW's EVDO, but a friend has the Q, and yes, the load times can be and are pretty fast on EVDO...but I've never really had a bad issue with T-Mobile ever being really slow. Pages, websites, etc., seem to load pretty fast for me, so I have no complaints with EDGE for what I need and use it for. I'm very pleased over all with T-Mobile's service.

I was also a former VZW customer who switched over to T-Mobile at the end of June. I live in the S.F. Bay area, but travel quite a bit up to Seattle and down to L.A. and have had no problems anywhere with coverage. Where I got 2-3 bars with VZW in my apt in Oakland, I now receive a full 5 with T-Mobile. I am also formerly from Minnesota and still travel back there once ...
