Being a Verizon user in the Chicago area I can say that their service works very well in Chicago. I work downtown and also travel to various suburbs that surround Chicago and it works very well. I am very satisified and have no issued with the service area of Chicago. If anyone does it would be interesting to know what issues there are. Screwball

While you are correct it seems that Verizon looses the least amount of customers out of the carriers. While every company has their good points and bad ones Verizon has more good points than bad points. I have had Verizon for over 2 years and they have the best service, coverage area and by far the best customer service of anyone else. Screwball

CDMA works a lot better GSM. It is a better network and Verizon is definitely better than everyone else. The proof is in Consumer Reports and JD Power and Associates. They also put the most money in thier network to keep it the best. Screwball.

Thank you very much for the posting on how to take the verizon banner off of the front of the phone. I really like this phone and that was the only drawback. Scott

Verizon does have a great network, it just sounds like you have had a bad experience with the sales person who sold you the phone. If you ask for the manager of that store they should get it resolved. If you are looking for a good phone the LG 4400 or the audiovox 8600 are very good phones that are tri-mode and get good reception. Good luck. S

I have a Verizon phone and can tell you they have a wonderful service and a very good customer service. ATT uses tdma or Gsm in the states which is not as fast or reliable as Verizon's CDMA digital technology. Hope you have success finding a great carrier but definitely try Verizon they do give you a 15 day trial on their service.

Verizon is the best hands down. Do any comparison and check all the coverage maps and verizon has the largest coverage of any of the carriers.

Re: Sprint (Network & Services) Vs. Verizon (Network & Services)

Verizon has a wider network that includes more analog than Sprint does. Also Verizon has better customer service. Sprint has upgraded their systems and customer service has gotten a little bit better. I really don't know how the push to talk works on either one but I know that Sprint has a more reasonable price on the push to talk. Also for $5 more you can get free and clear america for sprint and cover ...

If you switch I would say switch to Verizon because they have the largest network. They also have the best customer service. They also now have push to talk, just like Nextel. Hope everything works out for you. :)

That is true in some aspects but Verizon's Americas choice plan covers just as much as sprints everything plan and is cheaper. Plus for a good sprint phone they start at around 179.99 without activation.

Verizon is a lot better than sprint for coverage and customer service. I have both and prefer Verizon.
