Time for an upgrade
Jun 14, 2012, 2:57 AM
in the Verizon forum

I am looking to upgrade before the end of the next week. I am deciding between the Razr Maxx and the Galaxy S3. My main concern with the Razr is the non removable battery, but I have had great luck with Moto's android offerings thus far. While all the features of the Galaxy S3 look good, have they done anything to improve the radio (reception). In my area (N. Illinois), Samsung in notoriously losing 3G signal, let alone holding ...

It's not a problem of having to work weekends, it's having to work every weekend. When I was with USCC, we used to rotate weekends off among the RWC's. Even though someone chooses to work in a retail/sales enviornment, doesn't mean that from time to time they don't have something to do on the weekends just like the 9 to 5'ers.

Verizon was profitable and gaining customers even with the IPhone only being available on ATT for all those years. More people choose Android over the IPhone anyways so why wouldn't you want to go for what is more popular. As for the services part, yeah I agree that we are behind on LTE and that hurts our growth. However the IPhone has nothing to do with it. Quit being a fanboy

So by your reasoning, the reason USCC is losing customers is due to the lack of the IPhone? That's ludicrous. While I do not know exactly why we are losing customers, my guess would be being behind in the progression of a 4G (LTE) technology. It has nothing to do with the IPhone at all. Adding the IPhone would just delay other more important technological advances.

This conversation isn't about LTE. It's been about the IPhone and about alot of people saying that USCC needs the IPhone to succeed. This company was successful before without the IPhone and getting it would actually do more damage than it would help. If you feel you need the IPhone to be successful, then go to VZW or ATT. Not letting Apple rape USCC's bottom line is smart. Do I think the IPhone would sell at USCC, yes. Do ...

You are going to have some people who just change carriers to get the IPhone. What I was saying is I have never had someone in the store leave because we did not have the IPhone to sell. If they are in the store, DO YOUR JOB!! RWC's are not clerks, at least not decent ones, who just ring out orders. Quit your b*tching and get better at your job. There is nothing that IPhone can do that android ...

Personally I have NEVER lost a customer just because we didn't have the IPhone. If the RWC is doing their job and completing a proper needs assessment, then they should be able to uncover what features of the IPhone the customer is interested in and match those needs to a device in our line up. All that was said is that we will not have the IPhone 4 or 4S. That doesn't mean we will never get a future ...

IPhone

in the Article: U.S. Cellular Passes On the iPhone, Tiered Plans Coming forum

I don't know why so many people see this as bad. It doesn't matter how many IPhones would sell if they are not able to be obtained at a price that would make them profitable. It was never said that they would never carry the IPhone, it WAS said that Apple's "terms were unacceptable from a risk and profitability standpoint". If you can't make money on it, then it makes NO sense to offer the product.

Why would you only buy used phones unless you were just trying to stay out a contract? Even though you are on an old plan, you can still upgrade when you are eligible. USCC is not forcing people to move to the belief plan.

I agree with what Andrew Jackson said... "The goverment should live within its means." To often the solution for trying to balance the budget (both state and fed) is to raise taxes and fees. Instead how about they look at their own overblown salaries, pensions, and benifits. I for one am sick of paying more of my hard earned money because some idiot wants to act like a teenager with daddys' checkbook.

I'm in Illinois and generally if you add 18% you can get a fairly accurate estimate on your actual cost. So $9.99 + 18% Tax/Fees = $11.79. That would put your extra cost over two years at $307.96 ($11.79 X 24 months = $282.96, $282.96 + $25 VZW Activation Fee = $307.96)

I disagree. I have a Droid X, and I can instantly tell the difference. I am not knocking the Mesmorize by any means. It is an amazing device. I am however not aware of any 4.3 inch screen offerings from USCC. There is an LG that is rumored, but it's just a rumor so far.

Which Nokia? 6350, Mural, or Surge?

Re: Good News in Rockford IL

The mall has not been slow. Every other cellphone kiosk has been putting up better numbers in Cherryvale mall. AT&T is just inferior in this area. Not everywhere, but in this area. Coverage has a lot to do with it. AT&T has dead spots all over Winnebago County. This is just a case of Verizon and USCC having better coverage in a certain area. AT&T bought both agent locations in town to try and absorb some of ...

CWA is a joke. LicorShot is right. I left at&t because of the unrealistic wireline quotas. I would crush gross ads EVERY month, yet due to the fact more than half our customer base could not get DSL or Home Phone, it was very difficult to meet those goals... Especially when you have only Direct TV to rely on
