dakz said: This brings up the ugly issue of load capacity that Cingular reps do not like to talk about. CDMA towers can handle more calls per channel than a GSM tower can. This is a fact. This also explains why it is cheaper dollarwise to maintain and upgrade a CDMA network. More towers does not = better service in this industry. and also you are forgetting about tdma towers. total # of towers is great. but how many of them are TDMA?

Yes there is an early upgrade and you can do it every 12 month if you have signed 24 month contract, as long as you switch to, or stay above $49.99. Only thing i m not sure about is if that is true for NorthEast only.

I have one and it is made by CelleBrite. It transfers phone book memory from any phone to any other phone that was manufactured up until now. When there is a new phone, you could just order the cable for it and get your unit updated. Works like a charm. Never heard of in store small boxes for $25. http://www.cellebrite.com/

i think the fact that you have to get new battery every two month is pretty serious. and i don't know why would you compare "MOTO" to dinosaurs? to be honest any LG has lousy battery life. it would be nice if verizon had at least one phone with lithpolymer. still i think that best phone with verizon is V60I even if it is discontinued. first the problem with a 530 is not the color but it is dual mode. the problem with 8600 is that you cant hear that speaker you want speaker find p270 Motorola. the best speaker phone, also battery life on 8600 ...

in my opinion the best verizon phone is still motorola v60i. even if antenna brakes all the time. still that phone gives you best reception and you can get any accesory for it. not a lot of features but basic and good phone. amd also depends what you need. samsung is not tri and audiovox never made anything that lasted more than 2 month.

why cant verizon come up with better phone sellection

i dont think that by next year there will be any need for GAIT cause by then TDMA will be converted in to 850 gsm so all those dual phones with 850 on em will finally get to use that band.

i agree with you in that. idont think gsmcariers would want to share the network in us but gate phone that can do both in us will be nice. sorry for misunderstanding i didnt pay att to the fact that it was 1800 and 900.
