Compared to Moto-X
Does this give us insight into the Moto-X specifications? They look similar to what is rumored. I guess we only have to wait 1 week to find out. /;|
Re: "Handwriting"
I just tried it and it seems to recognize cursive typing. The problem is that it is very slow (maybe network related). This technology needs to be native to the phone to really work smoothly (a la Palm or Windows Mobile).
Huge Screen, so so resolution?
Why didn't Samsung go qHD on a 4.5" screen?
Re: I would wait...
I think it has more to do with Sprint's product plan. Motorola didn't fit in because Sprint was getting such great products from HTC and Samsung. Motorola has been slow to market with the smart phones (they were living fat off the Razor for far too long), so Sprint chose other suppliers.
Moto has had no trouble supplying product to Verizon, which is also CDMA, so I do not think the technology had anything to do ...
Thanks Sprint
Finally a phone worth the price of admission.
Whoops
Samsung took down the website. Someone must have jumped the gun.
Re: First Weekend Sales??
Thanks for the feedback. That is what I suspected would happen. Unfortunately, I fear that this phone is too much of a gimmick, and a toy. It is too hard to do anything with 3D content.
I think sales of the Photon 4G will be much more brisk. Just waiting for an official release date.
First Weekend Sales??
Has anyone seen the sales numbers for this weekend? Did sales live up to the hype?
Re: i may get this phone... if...
In this case, I suspect it won't be a slow roll out. They are going to have to convert the whole network at once. Otherwise they will have a problem with all the Nextel phones that are still out there.
This may be an unimportant conversation, because they haven't even rolled out the specs yet. It may be included for all we know.
Re: i may get this phone... if...
Don't worry so much about 800MHz CDMA. It will be at least a year or two before Sprint completes that conversion. By then you will be using a Quad Core phone with twice the battery life and half the thickness.
Re: The D700...
I am guessing this is the replacement for the Epic 4G, maybe with a faster processor, FFC and backlit keyboard. The reason for my prediction is that everyone is no discounting the Epic 4g, which wasn't true just a few weeks ago.
Re: Comparison HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Arrive
I just read on Microsofts website that this phone does not support ActiveSync or any other software for directly synching Microsoft Outlook with the phone. Just like Android, this phone requires that you upload all your contacts to google or bing. This is a deal breaker for me.
Re: Comparison HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Arrive
I do not own the HTC Arrive yet, but I had a chance to use one for a short time. Here are my comments on the new phone:
Size: The HTC Arrive is slightly narrower and thinner than the Touch Pro 2. On the other hand, it is slight longer. This slight adjustment in size makes it nicer to hold than the Touch Pro 2. Weight is approximately the same.
Hardware: This phone does not have GSM ...

Re: So Sad...
Have you tried WM7 ???
Re: World Phone? No
The T-mobile and AT&T variety are a different phone. The Sprint/Verizon version have both CDMA and GSM built in.
Re: World Phone? No
Yes... and it works flawlessly in Europe.
Check the specs here:

World Phone?
I was hoping that they would make this a world phone (with GSM support).
Looks like they left that feature off.
World Phone? No
Sprint missed the change to make this a World Phone (with GSM support).
I will have to keep my Touch Pro 2.
Re: Google Maps
Just trying to confirm that Sprint doesn't block the functionality.
Data Tethering
Has anyone tried using this phone as a modem for a laptop? Did it work? Do you have to pay extra to Sprint for that ability?
Thanks.
Google Maps
Can anyone confirm that google maps works on this phone, and that google maps can pinpoint your current location.
Thanks.
