If you do not like CDMA then I think your choices are limited to T-Mobile (GSM), Cingular (GSM/TDMA) or Nextel (iDen). I believe Sprint PCS and Verizon both use CDMA.

My advice is to stop whatever account you've started and wait for the changes to start to come through before proceeding.

Although switching of the weekends is unusual and purely SUCKS!!! It's not something the company said they'd never do. I'm not sure who the "They" is you're referring to. I am however on your side with this. I'd complain like hell and see what can be done because there's no need of it!!!

Just because people are wave 1 or 2 and got 8th doesn't mean a thing. With Tenure being only 20% it means these people still have to earn their starts. Once agian, if your stats can't back up your starts then shut up or leave. Just because you been there 6 years doesn't mean you have the right to start whenever you want......DISCLAIMER: this doesn't pertain to everybody, just 99%, there's some people who've had ...

first thing is tenure is only 20% of preference. 2nd thing is Halifax has been opened 6 years so either friend isn't wave 3 or has been there longer than 2 years.

The name AT&T was NOT bought. It was used under a licensing agreement. It is the sole property of AT&T and will be taken away from the now former AWS in 6 months.

Lets get 1 thing straight 99% of people get what they deserve when it comes to preferencing shifts. If your stats can't back up your starts then you should either suck it up or walk. The people who get bumped and then leave obviously didn't have great stats therefore making then VERY replaceable!!

The SiM swap will definitely work. Just to mention, smart phones only work on 1900mhz, they don't have 850mhz.

I'm saying that AWS does NOT own the name. They have an agreement with AT&T for use of the name. If the Cingular merger goes through the name is revoked in 6 months. If the merger doesn't go through then they'll still be called AWS unless AT&T revokes that agreement.

Also this is directly from AT&T's web site: "AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. (NYSE: AWE), a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&T Corp. (NYSE: T)"

They didn't BUY the name. If they bought the name why did AT&T threaten to take the name back less than 6 months ago when AWS was having a lot of customer complaints.

What makes sense is that people should follow the policies but forth by the company. Granted there is different ways to interpret some policies and procedures and everybody should have their own "style" however reps who cannot follow the simplest policies are in need of reprimand.

Judging by the posts of most of the so called "reps" in this forum there's definite need for more pride in the jobs you do. I just hope 1 of you gets caught posting while @ work, especially if it's confidential and therefore gets the pink slip because that's what some of you deserve. Not talking about anybody specific, but you know who you are.

AWS doesn't OWN the name. They have an agreement in place with AT&T that allows them use of the name. This can be revoked at any time.

Either Neorask is not a very knowledgeable TL or one heck of a Social Engineer. To say the TDMA phones are Nokia's worst 3 phone is just your opinion, but not factually true. They have a very small return rate compared to some other phones. You also contradict yourself by saying customers who mention their tenure have less of a chance at credit, but then state it only matters if there whining is legitimate......which is it?? ...

Taurus: Nobody has "officially" told any AWS or Convergys employee that Cingular doesn't outsource. To clarify a past point in this thread.... India does Warranty, Migrations, and e-care and they share all these departments with centers in Canada/USA.

Just to clarify policy. If the customer is a TDMA customer they get charged the full monthly service. If the customer is a GSM customer the bill is pro rated. TDMA customer are entitled to the full months worth of minutes even if there bill appears pro rated and then has a debit for the remaining monthly service. If they get charged for going over but weren't given there full month of minutes they are ...

Lets starts of by mentioning that if you had Unlimited NW minutes or LD or extra minutes promo's you would have a MINIMUM 1 yr contract according to the terms and conditions of service and you are agreeing to these terms by using the service. Second thing is the display on your phone only indicates the towers you're getting service from. If you're on a National plan that's fine but if you're on a Local Plan that when your ...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - AT&T Wireless Services Inc. AT&T Wireless, the No. 3 U.S. wireless provider, said it was considering its strategic options after it had received takeover interest from U.S. and international companies. While I think this is a great question and I also think this is a business flaw in the wireless industry. The fact that you think that only AWS does this according to your post is wrong. EVERY carrier does this.

I must say even though this post is very well written I feel like you are whining. I seems to me based on your version of events you were given EXCESSIVE amounts of credit and should be thankful they haven't debited some of those back. As much as I want to say AWS doesn't need a customer like you, I still think they do, but you are complaining a bit much and I feel you are asking ...

He did later correct himself. Here is a clip from rcrnews.com "The latest merger rumor between Cingular and AT&T Wireless was reported late Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the situation that noted the proposed deal—in which Cingular would acquire AT&T Wireless—has the backing of Cingular’s parent companies SBC Communications Inc. and BellSouth Corp." I'll believe it when I see it.

Who said anything about making up the info?? It's obvious that the customer would have to have some participation in the process. In the most obvious cases I've seen/heard the customer was somewhat curious about porting and therefore starting talking to the Verizon store rep and asking general questions. The rep would then say something along the lines of we need this and that info to look that up for you. The NAIVE customer would ...

I have told this before and I will tell you again so maybe you will stop making excuses. There has been proof of Verizon snatching AWS customer's numbers. MOST of these customers had no reason to lie. Did NOT have an ETF or were asking for ANY credit. I agree that some customers that call in are "fudging" the facts to get credit, but most of the number snatching cases have not been asking for ...
