Re: Internet compatability = Internet obligation?

My beef was at AT&T for not listening to my needs and requests when I signed up. It was brand new service with AT&T and a brand new phone. I had no idea what silly icons were appearing in the upper left of the screen. Why does my phone say 3G whenever I have no service? I specifically told AT&T No Internet period. They never , ever mentioned a pay per use. That's ...

One of the reasons I purchased the E71 is for the WLAN feature. I had a TREO and had to pay for Internet every month. I only need the web whenever I am near wireless areas anyway, so the Internet package is a waste for me. When I signed my contract, I specifically told AT&T that I did not want the Internet whatsoever. My first month I got a $300 phone bill with over $150 ...

I don't know of any actual percentage display, but I have found that the E71 battery indicator on the screen is pretty accurate. My battery will easily last a week of daily use. I have noticed that sometimes in AT&T 3G areas the battery goes down much faster than in 2G. I still LOVE this phone and all the folks in the AT&T stores marvel at it whenever I come in. Too bad for AT&T ...

This is a GREAT Phone!

Just purchased the gray steel unlocked version of this E71 from Best Buy a few days ago. I am SO IMPRESSED with the performance of this phone so far! :-)... It was expensive ($500 w/ tax), but I got tired of waiting for the Blackberry Bold and now I am skeptical if the Bold will even work right on AT&T's 3G network. /;| After hearing the Bold would sell for $300+ with a 2yr ...

That is good to hear that AT&T is at least open to folks bringing their own phone over. I am so done with Sprint. I feel they have some really great phones, but that does me no good when I can't either get a signal or drop ever call I try to make. VERY POOR service where I live and virtually no roaming for those distant areas. Sprint must have pissed off most of the ...

Thanks for all the info. My wife already has an AT&T contract with the iPhone and I would just join her for a family plan. Since there appears to be so much animosity about bringing existing or unlocked cell phones into a plan, I am going to wait well past the intro date for the Bold. I want to make sure it is right before I jump on the wagon with this. Two things really bother me ...

Use 8320 on AT&T?

in the BlackBerry Curve 8320 forum

I need to get over to AT&T with my wife on her plan. I want the BB Bold :-)... , but don't know what that will be available. I also need a phone with WiFi. Can I purchase a used BB 8320 and use it on AT&T so I can have WiFi? Thanks!

:? AT&T doesn't sell the 8320 that I know of. I think only T-Mobile has it. I would buy it used from eBay, or whatever. When the Bold comes out and gets everything worked out, I would be ready to go with it then as my new phone. I just want to get out of the CDMA mess and join my wife at AT&T but I need WiFi. Does that make sense?

Temp Bold Substitute

in the BlackBerry Bold 9000 forum

I want to come over to AT&T in the Bold, but it looks like we might be waiting for a while for unknown reasons and the iPhone is giving folks fits. I am looking for a way to have a BB Curve with WiFi until the Bold comes out or whenever they get all the bugs worked out at AT&T. Can I buy the 8320 meant for T-Mobile and put my AT&T SIMM in it and it ...

Well, I started out with a 700P, had all kinds of trouble, couldn't surf the Net and had the phone replaced with the 700wx by my handset insurance and advice of our local retailer based on my needs. I carry the insurance on all my phones. My wife's RAZR does the same weird things, only much worse. The Palm is able to raise above most phones and hold onto calls pretty good where the RAZR doesn't. ...

I'm not sure I agree with the entire statement of helping in natural disasters. If the closest tower is destroyed and you can't connect to the next closest via airwaves, you are out of luck on using anything unless this thing is hard-wired to land lines. Is it? I just wish Sprint had the balls enough to step up and offer this to me before they played all these games and said they couldn't help us and that ...

You sound just like the pathetic schmucks I've tried to reason with at Sprint! With attitudes like yours, who needs customer service! EVERYONE will hate you if they don't already. All flaming aside, Sprint has worked itself into the same kind of situation as many of our airlines. They are in dire financial straights and they are so far out of touch with their customers needs and wants that they continue to worsen their plight ...

I didn't mention that this is my second time around with Sprint. I had them in 2000 and their coverage was so horrible, my phone would not work in ANY building. Sprint said they could not guarantee coverage inside a building. I left after my one yr contract was up then and was hesitant about coming back, but was assured they were much improved. At the time, we had few choices in cell phone carriers ...

Sprint Contract Issues

in the Palm Treo 700w / 700wx forum

OK, I am really tired of trying to get Sprint to admit that my home area is just not covered good enough. I have the Palm Treo 700wx and I mostly have one bar and sometimes none. I drop lots of calls and so does my wife. She has a RAZR. When one of us travels to another city, it's worse. My contract with Sprint is up in November. Sprint's answer is I ...

Sprint is not listening to my complaints. I keep telling them that I have a really low quality signal and sometimes lose it altogether at home. I offered to photograph our phone screens along side a GPS to show our location and lack of "bars" and they keep referring back to their flawed maps. I asked if they could sent a technician or engineer to our location to verify what we are not getting and all ...

Sprint Airave

I have had problems with low Sprint signals since I signed up nearly 2 yrs ago. I have a Palm Treo 700wx and I have never been able to get my e-mail to work right when at home. I often loose service while inside my house or have only one bar. My wife and I regularly loose calls and messages due to poor service. Sprint says I have "excellent coverage" for my area. I ...
