If you go to Sprint and pay the same amount you were paying with Verizon (I am assuming $90+/month) they will let you upgrade every year as official policy. I am would pretty sure ATT and T-Mobile will let you do the same thing under those conditions as well.

OK, the problem with Boost for me was no service in my apartment. Metro PCS doesn't have NEARLY the nationwide coverage my family needs. Virgin would be OK...except for $69.99 i would get better selection of handsets and unlimited data and only loos unlimited calling. Doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me.

The POINT of NE2

in the Article: Verizon Wireless Changes Test Drive and New Every Two Programs forum

People here are forgetting the whole point of NE2. RETENTION!!!!! Verizon made a decision several years ago that lead to their very good retention rate. When your 22 months was done you had the choice of say...$100 for a Blackberry Curve on another carrier or you could get it for free after mail in rebate if you stay with what you know. 90% of customers wouldn't think twice to stay. And all zvw had to do was give up ...

Isn't that the same thing Nextel did to get voice on a PTT network? Or am I completely off base. And I am almost surprised there hasn't been more of an effort to do the same thing Kodiak did. But then again, it seems voice is going to VOIP.

Change it to something other than Vibrate THEN plug it in. Think for a second. Delicate electronics + High Voltage + Vibration = bad.

Almost all phones have some GIN program you can use for POP email. The question is, how much will it be? And with a device like this it would be GREAT if the program was built in.

Yes. Wait till all the phones are out and read all the reviews for them. Then make an INFORMED decision. Besides, when was the last time VZW released a bug free phone?

Dude, in all seriousness wait till 3 months after all these phones come out. Why? BUGS. Plus, the price will probably have come down a bit. Also, alot of people will have reviewed it by then and you will have a much better idea how it actually performs as a phone. This is why I am glad my NE2 isn't till October.

Maybee I am paranoid Rich but something about the idea of doing VoIP over the air really bothers me. Most notably the fact that VoIP over the internet is hard enought to make rock solid as it is. But dedicated air netowrks for this may solve this problem. I don't know. Making this work WELL in the real world may be more challenging than people think.

The reason that GSM handsets are and will probably continue to be cheaper than there CDMA counterparts is due to economies of scale more so than anything else. CDMA = 100 million + customers GSM = 1 Billion + customers Almost ten times the subscriber base will equal a difference in prices for everything. Phones, base stations, pannels, EVERYTHING.

While I agree that the new Cingular will finally give Verizon the competition it has been long without, I think its going to have to work REALLY hard to accomplish this. Lets look at whats happening now. 3rd quarter 2004 Verizon = 1.7 million new customers. AT&Tingular = about 750,000 new customers. (please keep in mind AT&T LOST almost 2 million customers during this time. Cingular + ATT hasn't had 1 million net new subs in the last 4 quarters. VZW has had ...

If you go to howardchui.com he gives the phone high marks for reception. Also a user on Wireless Advisor going by the handle of "ILUVSOCAL" has the phone and loves the RF on it. Mind you, if Cingular is PCS/1900 Mhz in Chicago then it may just be the building.

Leme guess, you have a girlfriend out of state? Or you go to school/work way aay from home and keep in touch with everyone at night? 5000 minutes = 83hours and 20 minutes. I have never come close to matching that total but I am not you. I am prety sure they can work something out with you.

The Nokia 3650 is quite possible one of the all time best RF phones that Tmobile/Voicestream has ever put out. It is one of the few phones that lets you talk all the way across the Staten Island Ferry ride. That being said, your best bet is to Drop Tmobile and go with someone who is better in your area.
