So who is right?
The Times said that controlling clearwire was not required but the journal says 'According to the Journal's sources, gaining control of Clearwire was a condition of winning the $20.1 billion investment from Japanese network operator Softbank, which was announced earlier this week.'
So who is right? One of them needs to make a correction. lol
In reality
There are two sides to every discussion. There will be those hate the Iphone and those who love it. Who is right? Who is wrong? In the end it comes down to personal choice and one question.
What is right for you?
You're the one who will use it so focus on what you think is best for you. Sure, ask around, get opinions, read reports, do your research, but take it all with a grain of salt. Most of the ...
Re: Patel troll trying to get a quick pay day..
What huge settlement? There was a judgement but that is under appeal as is every other judgment against any cell maker in the world. Companies will keep thing tied up legally for years just to spite each other.
Apple lost the same trial in Japan, they both lost in Korea, and so forth. It's basically a world war and the consumer is stuck dead in the middle.
Re: Patel troll trying to get a quick pay day..
I have to wonder Apple and Android have been out for years and this company is just now filing suit?
Re: 8X memory
LOL Rich.
The thing is that if I am not on wifi that cloud will burn through data pretty quickly (which is what most carriers wants, as it forces you to change up your plan or pay overages either way the carrier wins).
8X memory
It only comes with 16GB internal and no Mirco SD card slot.
Really, only 16GB and that's it?
Yet the 8S has 4GB internal but does have a Mirco SD card slot.
Wonder why their so skimpy with their high end phone when it comes to memory?
Dealt with YuLong Products
In the few times I have used their products, never had any real issues. Fairly inexpensive, worked fine on the local network. Though the phones I used all had Windows CE or brew on them. Never used and Android one.
Re: Does LG have enough brand loyalty
Well, I have heard this phone was over a year in the works. So we will have to see but I am curious if they have worked out the bugs with the quad core not working with US LTE. If they have, then we may have a real contender, if not, well I guess we will get another dual core version.
Re: and EVEN modify its devices?
Well I guess could be said of Apple. Motorola is suing them for a multitude of patent infringments. Motorola has tried to negotiate in good faith with Apple but Apple just keeps offering pittance compared to what Motorla is requesting.
So maybe Apple should start practicing what they preach.
Re: No not at all
Actually Xerox was only given stock when they sued Apple. Apple had no plans on giving any compensation until the lawsuit, so they were caught with their hands in the cookie jar and settled quickly to hush it up.
Re: A good day for design in general - and the phone industry
Speaking of fanboys...you might as well place yourself in that category as well all know you believe Apple can do no wrong.
Yet to answer your question, conspiracy no. Biased yes. If you own a certain product and keep buying new versions of said product, that would make you a loyal biased consumer. So yeah, in MY opinion, the jurors in that case were biased. Apple most likely knew about this and played on that fact.
Also, the case was tried ...
Re: Straight from a Juror's mouth
Yeah this is coming from jurors who all, save 1, owned IPhones.
No, nothing unbiased there..
Re: A good day for design in general - and the phone industry
Actually, all the jurors save 1 had IPhones and it was in Apple's home town. Many factors already against Samsung before the trial even started.
Honestly, how can anyone expect a fair trial when such factors were already in place?
There was no impartial verdict. How could there be? The jurors owned Apple products, Apple provides thousands of jobs for the local economy there. So why in blazes would a jury render a verdict against them?
Re: Braille?
What, you did not get the memo about all of us being equipped with usb jacks in the back of our necks? :D
Though, you question is a good one as I am curious as well how they are going to pull that one off.
Kind of odd
That Verizon is part of Inititive along with Google considering that they block VZ phone access to the Google Wallet app in the Play Store. lol
Re: So if I'm reading this right...
Wait wait...that's the Exynos 4 which is a quad core. So the Exynos 5 Dual is only a dual core.
Right?
So if I'm reading this right...
"two Cortex A15 processors at 1.7GHz per core" so as the Exynos 5 is a quad core, this means the Exynos 5 Dual is eight cores and each core runs at 1.7 GHz?
Holy battery eating technology Batman!
Re: Why?
Wouldn't a better question be 'Why is Sprint thinking to begin with?' lol
Re: Hurry up!
What, you didn't get the memo?
Apple said it's loading IOS on your phone, not ICS! ;)
Re: Really? That's the issue?
Yep, it's great to have a Judge in your deep deep pockets.
Though Apple is still fighting the Vatican on the use of God and who invented religion first.
Re: No one cares about it?
My question is why is Apple just now filing this lawsuit on a phone that has been out since November? They can't get the GS3 banned so they decided to focus on something else that Samsung made?
Honestly, these frivilous lawsuits by ALL manufacturers need to stop. Yes, Apple has, by far, the largest amount of lawsuits out but every other manufacturer also have plenty out as well. Focus on new products. Give us new tech. Give us innovation. Stop ...
Anyone get this update yet?
I've been checking since it was announced on 6/22 and don't see it yet.
Re: Double Standard
Yeah those ARE the law offices! ;)
Though Apple's definition of R&D is different than ours.
Ours: Research and Development
Apple: Rip-off and Destroy
Re: Double Standard
Apple has an R&D department? I thought it was just a law office with the nickname R&D.
Re: It must stink
You mean that item they sold and advertised in Australia as to work on the Australian LTE network then were found guilty of false advertising and fined millions?
Re: Ripping off designs vs. FRAND patents.
Yet if you look at the industry news, Apple pretty much sues everyone for anything.
'This company's phone almost looks like ours..sue them'
'Hey, they're using tech we want..sue them.'
Etc., etc.
A day doesn't go by without reading something about Apple sueing someone else. Frankly, it's getting rather annoying. I believe Apple's lawyers spend more time filing lawsuits than with their families.
Anyone notice...
The various battery times for each carrier's model of the GS III?
T-Mobile and AT&T are showing 8 hours. Verizon is showing 15 hours. Sprint and US Cellular are showing 9.2 hours.
Some seriously oddball battery times.
Re: Translation of:
Apple innovate? Is that even possible? I thought Apple just bullied or sued everyone and took their tech?
Re: The savings....
These sound like a greek tragedy in the making! :(
Re: No 64GB version?
Also remember that a nice piece of that 16 is taken by the OS. So it will prolly be about 10 or 11 GB free after such.
Wow, what a rip-off
The US market is getting screwed again.
No Quad Core
No 64GB version
They could have used the Exynos 4 chip but according to an article online:
"Although it would have been possible for them to adopt the Exynos 4 Quad SoC and combine it with a separate baseband chip, that would have taken a lot of time to implement."
So it seems that Samsung just wanted to get the S3 to the US market as fast as they could. So the fastest way ...
Re: Upgrade fee? at&t is GSM...
Well if you consider that AT&T had to eat BILLIONS at the end of last year in contracted fees due to them not getting T-Moible, then you can understand where the new $36 fee is coming from.
What? You thought they were just going to forget about having to eat that much profit at the end of the year? They're going to get their money back somehow and that somehow is out of your pocket whether you like it or ...
Re: Wow
The pay should be good! Think of the job security! ;)
Re: BUUUUUU
See the company with the most money can buy any judgement they want. Sad fact of life.
Re: Uh Oh... good luck
"The updates improve performance, fix bugs, and add Verizon-branded apps/services. Users can download the updates over the air."
Verizon-branded apps/services..sheesh yet another reason to root your device. They keep wanting to add useless bloatware. As if the phones didn't come with enough bloatware already.
Re: No ICS on launch?
Blame the Glaxaxy Nexus.
It was slated by Google to get ICS first and no one else can have ICS 'officially' for about another few months. The exact time when that will happen is up to Google, the carriers, and manufacturers.
Re: WOW....
There are going to be a lot of really ticked off Razr owners now.
Re: Really?
They are going to now issue the updates via your carrier? Hmm. In that case, you'll never see ANY updates as we know how reliable carriers are at putting out updates.
Re: A Valid Review After 1 Day?
Eric,
Didn't the global version have the same sound issue as you mentioned with the Verizon version? I though Samsung issued an update to fix that, or may the update is still in progress of being made.
Re: Reduced salaries
So is that before or after taxes?
