Re: Nokia 6085

in the Nokia 6085 / 6086 forum

Though this is kind of an old thread, I thought I'd put in that I've been comparing the Nokia 6085 and the Sony Ericsson Z750 (or Z750a at the AT&T site). My current AT&T is an older Nokia 2610 and I've been wanting a camera phone that does better than VGA, and something that streams audio, radio, off the net. The descriptions of both of these phones over at the AT&T site said that both have XM radio. It said ...

Re: How does this TNT compare to the Marbl?

in the Kyocera Adreno S2400 / TNT! forum

I wrote a review on this phone if anyone interested in getting one wants to see my impression of its first day of use. It includes my initial startup impression of how the phone does on Virgin's mobile web or VXL. Except for the limited themes for the phone (red, or blue), and lack of graphical smileys in the texting program, I really like the look or feel of its modernized graphics and style of the phone itself and ...

I decided to go ahead and buy the Virgin Mobile TnT since it was only $20 postage included at their site, and it came today. Its operation is very similar to the Marbl, reminds me a lot of it just with the appearance changed. I tested text typing and the keypad felt totally different than the 'raised rubber key' Marbl. The TnT keypad is flat and smooth with grooves between the keys and it types faster than the Marbl. ...

I want this phone too! Have you looked at the user reviews over at AT&T's website? They have a lot of reviews on this phone over there, none so far on the two refurbs on their prepaid GoPhone page, but if you just search this phone on the site to find all of the ones they have for sale there for contract users, each one listed (purple, pink etc) has a number of reviews, I think one had 50, ...

How does this TNT compare to the Marbl?
Aug 24, 2008, 7:08 PM
in the Kyocera Adreno S2400 / TNT! forum

I own the Virgin Kyocera Marbl and want to upgrade to a cell that is faster at texting/typing. And that scrolls pages or lets me type emails faster on the VXL mobile web. I saw one review for this phone at this site that said it is faster than the Marbl, but MUCH faster...? Can anyone tell me if it 'lags' or stumbles while typing texts or emails? I type fast while texting and with the Marbl I have to wait ...

XM Radio Questions.....
Aug 20, 2008, 12:16 AM
in the Sony Ericsson Z750 forum

I just found this phone over at AT&T as a refurb and saw that it does XM radio, FM, 2mp cam, etc, and it sounds really really cool! I just read the phonescoop review and saw the screen graphics, what it can do, etc. Love the screen. While I'd like ideally to have a QWERTY texting phone, I do want XM... Anyone out there who has this phone with service through AT&T, that uses the XM function... ? ...

Flare, Arc, Marbl, Cyclops comparison...

in the Virgin Mobile forum

Anyone out there who has the VM LG Flare or UTStarcom Arc who has also owned the Kyocera Marbl, who can tell me how these phones compare as far as, (1)Text typing speed? /;| I type faster than the Marbl and often have to wait for the cursor to catch up so I can type the next character. That's worse in the email text typing mode using the browser with my hotmail or yahoo box. Then, it lags or ...

Re: Can anyone recommend a program to convert audio or video files to mobile phone compatible format

I'd like to listen to a certain political stream off of MEdia Net (AT&T mobile browser) using my Nokia 2610 and I can get onto the mobile website, click the listen link, but it won't let me listen... I downloaded the Opera browser to my phone and now it actually downloads the audio file but then when I try to open it once I've saved it to a folder, it says file format not supported. If I could actually ...

:x You young whippersnappers. I want a camera phone and one that does video clips so I can take pictures of my tree frogs. And I want NIN, Monster Magnet, and Metallica ringtones on it. That's so there'll be some life in the geriatric ward I have to wheel through every morning, maybe they'll send me and the chair over the wall to the outside if the cellphone has a decent loudspeaker on it so I can annoy everyone. ...

I don't need one with a bottle opener, but would like one with streaming audio or XM radio. For under $50 to use with prepaid services. That's practically free isn't it, compared to a 2 year banker's corporate email contract? And I'm almost geriatric at nearly 50 but I still like long haired music. Industrial and Metal would be great streaming off a cellphone that costs under $50 but might have to have a time machine to go ...

 I type faster than the Marbl too and I'm almost 50 :o I too am looking for a faster VM phone, I do lots of texts (over 1000 a month) and need something that types a lot faster than the Marbl. It's not TOO awful in ordinary text mode but typing emails on the browser in my yahoo or hotmail box, very slow... "lags" is the right word for it, have to pause to wait for the cursor ...

This Samsung VS Nokia 2610?
Aug 18, 2008, 9:44 PM
in the Samsung SGH-A437 / A436 forum

:paranoid: I have a Nokia 2610 with AT&T prepaid (Cingular Pay As You Go GoPhone) and have been looking at getting a phone that can do a little more, but don't want to lose quality either. They have some refurb package deals on the Samsung that don't sound too bad. Does anyone out there who has this Samsung have experience with the Nokia 2610 for comparison purposes, particularly with AT&T? I text pretty fast and the typing speed on the Nokia ...

Pros and Cons of the ARC, FLARE Versus the Virgin Marbl?
Aug 18, 2008, 8:56 PM
in the UTStarcom Arc CDM-8074 forum

 I'm looking at Virgin Mobile phones again, my current is the Kyocera K127 or Marbl and it types text slow particularly in email mode on the browser, my typing is faster than it and I have to wait for it to catch up. Right now, I'm wondering would it be a good investment to 'move up' to a newer or faster VM phone, such as the LG Flare for about $30 or the Arc for about $50. The Arc has ...

Re: Can I use ANY phone with AT&T prepaid, if so how?

Thank you for commenting on my question. I was over at the AT&T forums at their website asking questions and someone told me a little more about the issue. They said they had done the SIM card swap with some Nokia QWERTY keypad texting phones (6820, 6822, E70) and were able to do MEdia Net, plus they could transfer their USD balance to the new device. I checked out the Nokia devices they mentioned and they're pretty neat. They have ...

Thank you for taking time to answer my questions. Sorry I txt/talk so much. Only way to learn is to launch on out there and ask. I bought my Nokia 2610 through the AT&T website (called the order in) and did get it for WAY cheap compared to the price I was quoted at the local store. It was so cheap I thought it must be a refurb or return, but no way would I complain about that on my ...

Thanks for commenting, ccareatatt. (do you work for customer care at AT&T?). I like the GoPhone balance updates after doing a text, or mobile MEdiaNet session. I check my balance on the cell by logging into My Account on the MEdiaNet homepage, that's pretty handy to be able to see how many texts left on my package, how much data transfer without getting on the online site and signing in. I just recently switched the Nokia 2610 from Pick Your Plan ...

:o Wow 8O so it's true then, I CAN put my SIM into something QWERTY... and it's AT&T legal, they'll let me use it on their network? I've only been using a cell since mid 2006, so I don't have much experience. Started out slow and got inspired when I saw the QWERTY devices. Do you know of a forum for people who do this sort of crossover thing and who can answer my silly questions about the how-to's and ...

Can I use ANY phone with AT&T prepaid, if so how?
Jul 27, 2008, 8:46 PM
in the AT&T forum

OK,lookin for someone out there who knows the answer to the infernal  question... I've heard that ANY of AT&T's phones can be used with the GoPhone prepaid service, if the SIM card of my prepaid phone is placed inside the new phone... if that's not possible, does anyone out there know how I can use just any AT&T phone with their Pay As You Go prepaid GoPhones? And if that's true, why doesn't AT&T mention it ...
