I whole-heartedly agree that asking for taxpayers to foot the bill is not a very good thing at all at this time. From what I gather according to the article though, is that the government was looking to spend money anyway to create an emergency response network. This undoubtedly is very costly. Much, much more than 2 billion. Sprint currently is the owner of the IDEN network. This without doubt, is the system most government and emergency response teams ...

when you sign a contract, it seems that only the consumer has to hold to the deal. The carriers can raise monthly bills or eliminate things at will. So I feel this gives the customers a little more of a choice to get their bones of contention to any of the carriers allowing us subscribers to bail if not treated properly.

I hear ya. I'm waiting for three phones and i'm tossed. I want the Nokia N810, Touch Pro or Touch HD(if it comes to sprint) Yeah my Mogul was supossed to be upgraded from WM6 to 6.1 through my computer, but I walked in the store to check out the instinct. The service rep asked if I had the mogul upgraded yet and when I said no, he hooked me up. it took 15 min and zero dollars. ...

Last year here in Rochester NY, 5 high school girls were killed instantly when their car swerved into the path of an 18 wheeler on the way to a summer party. The car exploded into flames and the truck driver seriously hurt. They determined she had just received a txt msg a minute before the crash and she was probably sending one back. the phone was still in her hand. This accident made national headlines. The iphone vs highway roadkil. the roadkill lacks the interface acrobatics of the apple product. It's ability to switch from portait to landscape mode does not match the swiftness of the iphone no matter how much we moved the body. We also were not able to access the internet with the roadkill. This was a great disappointment in our opinion. so therefore we feel that iphone is clearly the winner in this test folks. do not by the roadkill.

Rwalford79..You bring up some very interesting points that are shared by many. Here are mine: I feel Sprint should not be underestimated. while they may be having problems, a lot of other carriers have as well at one point. I have been a cell user for almost 25 years and I have seen many things from the transition of "bag phones to the legendary "brickphones" and from there to motorola flip phones which were huge in their own right. ...

that is quite an analysis and makes debate sense. I'm sure there will be some questions on those figures but it is an argument why Verizon and ATT swap assets. they undoubtedly know that Sprint and Tmob are bigger competitors than their customer base would like to believe. why hand the assets over to another carrier that would likely lead to defection from their own.

I agree totally with you slammer. Business depends heavily on marketing. because of the Wimax and LTE technology coming into the light as the next generation of communications, it was very convenient for Delta to throw in a plug for LTE since this could be a factor for booking their flights. but as you stated, they will have internet next year but not LTE. LTE is at least acouple of years away from testing in a few markets. They ...

I agree wiith you on many of your answers to Slammer however, yes while Sprint runs on 1900 mhz, and Alltel works on 800 mhz, Both carriers offer dual/tri mode handsets that can work off each of their systems including verizon. that is where the roaming comes in. So Sprint is very compatible with some changes and would not be out of the question. but agreed US Celluar is more compatible. but will the divestitures just be given way ...

as a technical note, you will not be able to get the speeds out of your phones as you do the aircards. the processors are much smaller in your phones. and don't forget about that dreaded signal strength. the speeds are also weighed on internet congestion and backhauls. if your getting 1.5mbs, I agree, your actually doing pretty good. what carrier you have is important too. AT&T is mostly edge at this point. Edge is much slower than REV.A ...

what's the point of spending 20-30 min. in the store signing a contract I think we should all hire the lawyers that are handling this case. we should pay their retainer fees and then decide we don't want to use them after we use their services for awhile and then say we are not going to pay. I'm sure there would be an issue with that.

I'm with you. I don't believe the processors will be a major problem as well. I did state that LTE is the newer technology and potentially faster. but in reality Wimax and LTE have to be highly adaptable to each other in order to keep clients of either system in contact with each other. also a point to be made is the devices that will receive the signal from these two systems will only be able to process as much info their processors are able to manage which means both systems will actually not ...

your thoughts are my thoughts. your knowledge is on point about the similarities of LTE and WiMax. that is why it makes no sense when one might say LTE is better. Yes LTE is faster and newer technically. but in reality buy the time LTE is deployed, Wimax will have advanced to the same point and they need to be fairly even in order to allow clients of both technologies to communicate with one another. also an interesting fact ...

Your question is a good one. I really don't have an answer but would like to take a guess and I may be wrong but here it is: These two technologies are not owned, sold or made by the wireless companies. they are marketed items that other companies developed and sell. Since these technologies have actually been in the works for years, LTE and WiMax were able to get VZW ,AT&T ,Sprint etc to go with their respective technologies. So ...

Actually neither one will be better than the other. they will be more like cousins rather than competitors. they will actually compliment each other. True: LTE is newer and potentially faster but in order to make sure clients can communicate with one another no matter which carrier they are with, the two technologies have to be highly adaptable to each other and make them more compatible in speed for it's abilities to transfer data. its more of a market ...

It's nice to know you are a Sprint customer as myself. It definitely has been rough times for Sprint. They have been the whipping post for jokes for awhile. But that will change very soon. It's anybody's guess on the VZW divesture but it doesn't appear Sprint is a contender in the buy. To acquire more subscribers would make sense and it certainly would give them roughly 13 million more customers, but on a technological point , with them ...

To your point. Sprint has realized their issues and has executed major changes to facilitate going forward. this does not happen overnight. They need to go through the valley before getting to the mountain. To my point. The AT@T-Cingular merge was NOT that good nor very smooth. It led to a huge amount of lawsuits from angry customers claiming they were forced to drop their current plan and buy new phones because of certain incompatabilities with the two companies. ...

in the Article: AT&T Moves to Block Xohm, Clearwire Merger forum

it's agreed that sprint has lost a million customers in the first quarter alone. this is a very rough situation however a lot of the fact that this happened is because when the merger of sprint and nextel was in the very early stages, nextel began offering maximum deposits of only 100 dollars and as low as 50 dollars. this led to bad subscribers and this info was not readily available to sprint. so sprint was left with the ...
