Still very wary of LG
LG droids tend to be cool at first, but they usually abandon the product faster then any other manufacturer. They introduce a new concept but do nothing to keep it relevant and take forever to fix bugs on their dual-core devices.
Just remember the cautionary tale of LG G2X
Re: OMG I CAN'T WAIT!
it's in the android dev site.

I speak Spanish so now I see :D
Re: If you want to pretend choices are a bad thing, then stay with your iPhone
sorry I don't know what FD is :P
If you want to pretend choices are a bad thing, then stay with your iPhone
Look bluecoyote, I can respect your position on how you don't like flash or anything that can drain a battery faster then it should. Or how certain programs work better for some and vice versa.
But damn it I want the choice to do it. If I want to visit my favorite sites I should, I know it will drain my battery faster I don't care I have a charger. If I step on the gas so I can ...
Re: OMG I CAN'T WAIT!
It should come sometime today
Still love the option, and others too
for guys like me (300GB of music) is well worth it for me. My DJ pals (N1 users) will love this too. They can bring the music they like and now they can pull their demos up without taking a lot of space on their phones.
For those of you who are going to defend Apple
Apple does this kind of stuff ALL THE TIME. Taking shots on the competition is how they like to go "Oh we're better at this on that then this company!"
Check music straight from your desktop? Sync without tethering?
Talk about shots

Newgrounds.com here I come!
I couldn't give 2 craps about video streaming from sites like hulu (not a lot of good shows to watch anyway)
But flash games I'm really excited about!
Besides for something like video streaming I'd wait, it's a little new and will need time to fix.
Re: OMG I CAN'T WAIT!
Yeah, sometime today, BUT I WANT IT NOW!!! :D
Re: So, 2.2 will be coming to the Droid afterall, how bout that!!!
My friend has the G1 and I have almost all of the apps he has (the ones I like at least)
It shouldn't be an issue. worst case you can return it, re-activate your G1 and re-download the apps
Ignore the bluecoyote troll
I'm new to this site and I've notice his name on EVERY anti-android/blackberry/anythingnotiPhone post.
Why do people feel the need to be a jerk when someone is just being happy about some cool news about their stuff?
OMG I CAN'T WAIT!
I can FINALLY go to my favorite sites on my N1 now! I do love the multiple app updates, i have a ton of apps and this will make things easier.
BUT MAN I CAN'T WAIT IM SO EXCITED!
....Nope, still want it :D
Sorry about misreading the price, still want it though :D
I hope this works better
I LOVE my Nexus and would really like for it to succeed, hopefully this will give it some more life.
Re: Please Sprinr stop...
No 4G in my area yet, so $69.99 for now
Sprint*
Sorry
Please Sprinr stop...
You have already sold me on getting an EVO for $69.99 a month, you don't need to try so hard :)
whip out your calculator….
Sprint
$69.99 (unlit everything cell2cell)
$10 for 4G
$30 for mobile hotspot for 8 devices (!!!)
=$109.99
Verizon
$69.99 unlit talk
$30 for smartphone data 3G
$20 for unlit text
$30 for 5GB of tethering (free on the Pre ONLY)
=$119.99 for Pre, $149.99 for other phones
AT&T
$69.99 unlit talk
$30 for smartphone data/iPhone 3G
$20 for unlit text
$30 for 5GB of tethering (no mobile hotspot, non iPhone)
= $149.99
Sprint’s expensive eh?
Re: Keep your information private?
Being ignorant or just covering your ears with those ****ty headphones they give you.
Re: Apples update will be on time......NOT
Right...on time right?
Like how they were months late for push notification?
Like they mention how Flash support is on the way?
If by "on time" you mean once a year for a major update?
If by "error free" you mean how MobileMe deleted now only information but account all together?
If by "error free" you mean how Snow Leopard deleted all data on people's computer even if it was backed up.
If by paying for AT&T crappy coverage and services instead of paying Verizon ...
Re: Wise. Slightly more evil, but wise
As much as I would love to give other phone's free GPS, I do feel Google should keep it in their own platform to give a competive edge to Android. It's free so giving it to other huge competitors wouldn't be exactly wise (sure they may generated revenue but Google's already got their money pile)
Besides iPhone already offers tons of GPS alternatives.
Concern of Oversaturation
Google needs to take a little tighter control of the mess of Android phones going to be release.
I'm seeing lots of android phones with older OS version being released, many under powered releases in favor of a smaller price, companies saturating carriers with similar phones (T-mobile has G1, 3 MyTouches with another on the way, 1 Cliq and another on the way, Nexus One, but only 1 has 2.1)
I'm seeing feet being dragged on updating older phones.
At this rate ...
FCC needs to get with the damn program!
I have no faith in the FCC because of their recent actions. Look what's happened in the past 4 years:
-Sprint raises their text pay-per-use rate from 0.10 a text to 0.20 which is a 100% rate hike. Within weeks AT&T, Verizon and T-mobile increased their rate with little explanation. Then smaller carriers followed suit. FCC launches an investigation with almost no result and suddendly dropped the investation (many including myself feel it was a buy out)
-Carrier exclusivity increased. While ...
Re: "I deserve a free phone!" No you don't....
Google is getting money from T-Mobile the same way Apple gets money from AT&T for their plans. That's why there is a subsidy on the Nexus. If Google didn't charge recovery fee then T-mobile would charge a ETF. At least that's how it should be.
If Google is charging a recovery fee and T-mobile is still charging a $35 activation fee, then T-mobile shouldn't have the right to a ETF because they don't get charged for losing the phone, the ...
"I deserve a free phone!" No you don't....
-Do you deserve a new HDTV because you had the same sattelite/cable company for a long time?
-Do you deserve a new water heater because you pay your electric bill with the same company for years?
-Do you deserve free bread for shopping at Walmart for 5 years?
Answer: No
Wireless Providers offer "Wireless Services", they just slash the price off the phone to entice people to sign with them.
It's pretty black and white. You want a service, company provides the service, ...
Re: Enough with the TouchWiz!

Authorized agent
Enough with the TouchWiz!
Samsung Touchwiz floodgate is pouring more and more Touchwiz phones!
At&t: Eternity, Impression, Solstice, & Mythic
T-mobile: Behold, Memoir, Highlight
Verizon: Omnia, Omnia II
With the exception of Omnia and megapixel of the camera, all of them have very little difference.
Re: Who has this
The Vu and Eternity are both very popular sellers in our district. Plus we never know when they will provide additional phones that support the service.
Re: ridiculous
It's not a movie service, it's live TV (some web channels) also I don't think I'd like to drag a xbox and television with me everywhere I go.
If you're home all the time and own a television, your not their target consumer for this service. It's for people who are never home to enjoy television.
My cousin is a trucker, and my friend is a field representative who travels all over FL. They both LOVE the service.
Re: Sprint you just keep going dont you
for a phone with Wi-Fi that's a pretty good deal, especially considering their plans are cheaper too
Your math sucks
Pay $50 upfront for a phone or pay $50 more a month with AT&T, let's do the math:
Sprint $50 x 1 = $50
AT&T $50 x 24 (2 year contract) = $1200
Wi-Fi really that big a deal for teenagers?
I know at this point it's heresy to not include every little feature a phone can carry. Adults MAY use it, business use it?
But from my experience teens don't really use wi-fi as often as people think. Teens mostly care for messaging.
Why would teens need wi-fi? Most of them text, IM, Facebook, Twitter.
Is a teen willing to pay Starbucks for wi-fi to check their Facebook faster?
Is a teen going to use their phone at home instead of ...
Re: Why go with a Sidekick then?
You don't "simply update" the sidekick, you pay an extra $5 a month for it. Sidekicks never had "compassion for you wallet" they are usually in the $150-$200 range.
They are doing this to sell more sidekicks, not keep existing ones happy (what kind of business owner who needs MS Exchange buy a sidekick in the first place?)
There are plenty of phones that are smartphones and are WAY cheaper then sidekicks and offer way more value and features.
Sidekick LX is ...
Re: If only....
If only VZW offers free web access...
Everyone charges something for going online, pay-per-use or otherwise.
Not trying to be a jerk, but people who will need apps will more then likely need data too.
It's only $10 on non-PDA phones(with unlimited text, otherwise it's $15)
$30 for smartphones
Why go with a Sidekick then?
Isn't Sidekick data plans already the same as a smartphone? ($24.99 data, $34.99 data & text)
Blackberry, Android, and Windows Mobile already does this stuff without the montly $5 fee.
So your gonna have a phone that does a fraction of what a PDA does and cost $5 more a month to do it?
Re: But not before "stupid Verizon" comments!
BREW is just one of the platforms they'll continue supporting, they'll support other platforms too.
I agree BREW isn't great, but non-smartphone like the LG Env3 will start getting apps too because of this which is always welcome. Develepors will have more tools to work with and higher sale volume too.
Besides, if you hate BREW so much just don't buy apps from Verizon.
Re: Looks nice but ...
That's true, and it dates back when the Samsung BlackJack came out (it used Windows Mobile "Smartphone" edition, technically not PDA software) but it was still considered a PDA due to it's keyboard.
Heavy users tend to use more data if they have a keyboard, since it will be TONS easier then using regular keypad.
It's more of a judgement thing on AT&T end, which I agree it's kinda stupid instead of following the guideline they layed out.
