Moto Q or QA30?
The service provider I am with is a lil behind the times, but their price is good for me. Soooo with this in mind which would be a better phone, the Moto Q OR Moto QA30?
What I want:
PC sync capabilities, e-mail, and possibility of software upgrades when needed, wanted.
I DO own moto phone tools if you might think this will really be relevent.
Since I no longer work for said provider, I think they still have rtt but MIGHT have ...
If this
has the same problems all the other Kyocera phones have, ie: powercycling, bad battery, slow menu, etc
then......
i dont think it would be worth the plastic it is molded in
sorry
didn't realize

Re: cdma on gsm
I haven't, but i heard that it is possible. I am looking into this, there is a company in my area that can do it according to rumors. will post more as i learn
also
when you are telling customers about phone features, have the accessories in hand that go with those features.
ex....
this phone is bluetooth capable and i have found that this model headset seems to work perfectly with said phone.
if you
memorize the prices well, you could offer the products to the customers as a "bundle" pack and allow them to believe that they are saving money when in actuality they are paying full price :D
Re: cdma on gsm

gsm to cdma
i work for a company that distributes cdma phones and service. we also flash cdma phones from our competitors onto our service. i have recently heard that there are ways to flash cdma service onto gsm phones. i will be looking more into this as i have the address of the company in my area that is reported to do this, my question is, are there any dealers/ retailers that have any info they could give ...

Re: Earthquake
sorry bout that, tried to control it, but she wanted me to rock her world :D
Re: bitpim
have they updated the phone models yet? last i checked, it still couldn't do anything with my old slvr.
problem with that is
depending on phone you have, these settings can only be changed through manufacturer programs that cost a lot of money.
Re: Alltell Motorola V3c
most carriers now have to give you the code when you call customer service and ask for it. there are also alot of mod sites that can help you get the unlocking codes you need. best way to start is to google motorola modding. i am not allowed to post specific websites anymore on this topic.
easy
find the subsidy unlock code, and that will unlock folder
NO flashed phone
at the moment at least, can use any of the data processing. that means no internet, no pictures, no mms of any kind. I have even found that sometimes bluetooth connectivity is hindered during flashing process.
Re: Doen't anybody make phone calls anymore?
I know nothing about all that technical mumbo jumbo you were talking about.
BUT i do agree as far as what everyone advertises and shows is mainly the "extras" of the phone and thus the MAIN function of the phone has seemed to become lost in the thought processes.
I too have noticed that my older phone (LG-4270) seems to get better reception than my newer phone (kyo M1000)
BTW
cricket uses software that has a tendency to crash the phones they flash.
Re: Reliabilty of Metro's flashed firmware?
yes, everyone's trying to build their credit. but a phone is more important, so if i have to suffer in the credit department to make sure people can contact me, so be it.
I do NOT work for metro
but i AM familiar with the software they are using for flashing the firmware.
1. yes, flashing DOES void the carrier warranty, but does NOT void manufacturer warranty
2. a flashed phone CANNOT use internet services, nor can they be used to send or recieve mms messages
3. personally, i wouldnt do it
'nuff said :D
Re: To the person(s) telling people GSM phones can be activated on CDMA networks:
there are many hacks out there to pull pranks, like i have a bluetooth hack that allows me to call anyone from a paired bluetooth phone

I've activated a verizon phone on alltel before.
but both are cdma right?
I hear this all the time
I even have some customers that I have challenged to bring me in a gsm phone that is activated on a cdma network and I would PERSONALLY pay for 3 months of their service.
just an addition
i have looked at the list of the phones that are shown at houdinisoft.com, and from personal experience using this program, i find that it is an incomplete listing.
from what i have read on houdinisoft.com and from some of the third party dealers for POCKET Smart Wireless have told me, it actually isn't as expensive as most people would expect. We at POCKET flash phones for $25, and some of our dealers charge up to $50.
Re: unlockable?
our company uses a program called houdini, you can go to houdinisoft.com to find more info. even carrier specific phones can be unlocked. true, at the moment you cannot get on the web or send and recieve mms messages, but the programmer of houdini (son-in-law of POCKET communications' owner) is working on this.
Re: unlockable?
there is also a website that claims they can unlock cdma phones for any network, i don't remember the site offhand, but i'll post it when i get home and away from this firewall.
Re: unlockable?
i don't know the specific steps for sprint and verizon, but i work for pocket which is a cdma carrier and we unlock their phones all the time.
Problem with
unlocking cdma phones is that ATM you can only use voice services. you can send and recieve text, and phone calls, but data services are restricted. No internet option is available with any cdma flashing services that i know of. and most flashing services that are out there also have not unlocked mms services.
Re: unlockable?
Yes cdma phones CAN be unlocked. Sprint and verizon will NOT unlock competitor phones because of policy, but most 3rd party dealers know how to unlock phones.
Wrong
ALL cdma phones can be unlocked. we unlock phones everyday here at POCKET.
