Yes of course you can. But that wasn't my point. The point is say you get sick of at&t and still have a 300 dollar balance. You will be required to pay that in essence that is your early termination fee.

But even activation charges can be waived on contract if you know the way around the system. Or if you are on certain discount programs. Early termination fees are also sort of the same just coming from different ends. With the contract you have ETF and with Next you must pay off the balance of the phone if you are leaving the company.

Look the price of contract vs.next plan is all the same in reality. If you go on contract your plan is 40 dollars not getting the 25 dollar discount to bring it down to 15 bucks. Plus you pay 199 plus tax to get a high end phone. On Next you only 15 dollars for your plan plus the installation payment and tax upfront. If you work the math it breaks down the same. The only ...

It's not necessarily all about the money as they would get the money regardless. It's just they don't want perfectly good phones to go to waste. They actually would make more money offering more upgrades through accessories and other stuff people do to new phones.

In actuality Verizon isn't even always the most expensive. The 10GB plan for 4 lines is actually 140 while at&t still have it set at the original 160.

Also to touch on the lower tier data packages really don't save any money. Look at it this way you use on att 4 gigs on the family plan so in just in case you buy 6 gigs plan. The data costs 70 dollars the per person for 4 people is 25 dollars that's 170 per month. It saves more to buy the 10 gigs where it costs 100 bucks but per person is only 15 ...

On the Data Rollover if you change plans the amount of data you have saved is lost. In the terms and conditions it states this. So will only rollover if you stay on the same plan.

There is a reason companies do this it is to draw in potential customers that have doubted the product prior. In the iPhone example say you are a loyal android user you would never use Apple. But now when they say the iPhone 7 is the greatest phone yet. You may have people that say alright alright I will give the iPhone a chance. This happens enough times and that is a major jump in usership.

The way it works is almost the same. That you will get top dollar for each trade in with either company. However Sprint just ups it to 3 trade ins at a given per line. As opposed to T-Mobile only offering for one trade-in per line. But as far as it goes for you the consumer it is not like you have a choice. You have to work with the company you use. You will not ...

I agree with the statement you pay for and have use it. My statement was saying it is getting harder for cell companies to afford to keep unlimited as an option. They are keeping their word that those that have it can keep it. But keep in mind it is considered grandfathering in and is only meant for a reasonable amount of time past the promotion expiration. Usually 2-3 years beyond. Never is the word forever mentioned as nothing ...

in the Article: Verizon to Restrict Heaviest 'Unlimited' LTE Users forum

The one thing people don't realize is back when Verizon began the unlimited plan not only did people not use much data but the quality of the data was much lower. I'm sure we all remember the constant buffering. Also the grainy picture quality. So of course with the high speed we have and the HD effects we get on the screen doesn't that account for anything. Plus remember even though phone companies limit our data do we not ...

But why is it like that? Going forward it will be very difficult to purchase a new phone. It is like get a new phone or keep a discount. That's the part that makes these new plans suck.

Are you kidding Android isn't going anywhere. Iphone is in a much weaker state than Android as every phone and virtually every update is the same. The thing is about the Android is that there is only so many updates that are realistic. People think so much can be done to a phone and the reality is that it is just a phone and not some magical device.

Most manufacture do this practice. It is just less obvious at times. As for companies potentially losing money because they don't do a complete over is not a factor. Because they don't lose money. As many people who were going to do an upgrade will they just act like they won't. Even though it is not a complete overhaul the S5 still has many new and better offerings than the S4 for those that carefully ...

Ever since the news broke out that the S5 will be coming out people were disappointed that three was not enough amo in the phone to switch from the S4. There is a reason for that. Samsungs goal was to to sway away S4 to the S5. Remember phone companies base their production on 2 year contracts. Therefore rather than S4 users they are appealing to the S2 or S3 users. For them the ...

The one big benefit that nobody sees is the fact they give you 15 dollars off the plan if you qualify through the Next program. Doesn't sound like much but look at it this way. When you have that 15 dollar credit you can add a brand new phone of your choice under the new 18 month next program the monthly installment on most of the phones cost under 20 dollars. Thank you for responding epik. I purchaed this phone from a major vendor on Ebay that specializes in unlocked phones.
