The question still goes unanswered... Who forced VZW to lower the price. If I am not mistaking Samsung stated that the phone will be sold for $199 & $249 not VZW. Just the same as the iPhone prices are priced by Apple and is pretty much uniform accross the board. What does TM have to offer? Their "4G Network"? Oh how about the large sum of money that they received from AT&T? TM and Spring is fighting tooth and nail to survive in the big industry. Heck, they have REALLY cheap plans and REALLY cheap (not cheaply made) phones and yet still can not stay a float.

That does not mean they will continue to use it as a primary network. It could simply be a fall back plan just like Cingular did when they changed from TDMA to GSM. They held onto the TDMA network for years before tearing it down.

???? Nationwide footprint? Did Alltel not have the largest towered based network? Not customer bases or anything to that but they did the most "towered" network of all carriers. Am I incorrect about this?

for those you have it, what do you think of what they did to the dial pad....

How else would you connect a data card to the IPad? By USB? Good luck on finding one of those on the IPad. The only way is to connect the IPad to a WiFi connection hince the reason for the bundling of the MiFi.

Why waist your money on this if you already have the Moto Droid? The only major thing you will get is a 8 mega pixal camera and a "snapdragon" processor THAT WILL NOT BE RUNNING 1 GHZ. The phone will be underclocked due to battery life.

GSM
GSM will only cover so much data. If you take a look at the AT&T system you will see that they go from GSM over to a form of CDMA. This is because they have met the maxium speed for GSM (EDGE) with data. They had to create a "new" form of a network to get faster speeds with the net.

Well here is my rebuttal for that. The home screen if you log into any Verizon phone will be My Verizon. Which does not charge you to visit. Only if you go beyond that point will it start to charge for data. So Verizon has figured a way around the "accidental" web.

Why is the FCC going after Verizon for having per data charges at $1.99 per megabyte (.002 per KB). If I am thinking clearly, there is 1024 KB to a MB. AT&T was/is charging $.01 per KB. If my math is serving me correctly, that is $10.24 for the same MB.

I seen that coming awhile back ago. Funny things, Verizon never mention anything other than 3G. I dont see this going any where. Good luck AT&T on this lawsuit. I still believe Verizon is going to come on top!!!

What carrier is losing customers faster then rest? Sprint is trying everything they can to reach back out and get those customers back. If you want to say Verizon is over priced, take out the fact they just bought Alltel, then why was Verizon the 2nd largest company? They must be doing something right.

T-Mobile have several different ways of adding a customer to a line of service example "Flex Pay". So you dont really "have" to have a contract for the line of service. I bet though there is a different deal when it comes to the price of the phone.

Well logic tells us that it should be possible. BUT the thing is morning having to do with the systems. Verizon and Alltel system still have to be mergered, which includes the data base with all of ESNs of all of the phones.

before the merger, alltel already had contracts with manf. in what phones they will carry. All of the phones that Alltel are getting now is what was already contracted to complete.

"Alltel" still offers the unlimited plans for data on the cards. There is no fine print of any cap. At this point with out doing other check and verify, I do believe Alltel may be one of the very few companys that still has the true unlimited plan.
What I was trying to say earlier was that the carriers where doing the caps for a paticular reason. The reason was to discourage heavy users from doing ...
