IOS 7 Notification Area
Sep 20, 2013, 6:05 AM
in the Article: Review: Apple iOS 7 from A to Z forum

I just got ios 7 installed on my iPhone 5 and, frankly, don't like the Notification Center one bit when compared to the older version. Notices for email, messages, news that showed up before no longer do. The Today Tab displays text based weather, stock information (absent the cool ticker), and a very basic calendar. The other two Tabs, All and Missing, don't populate at all - totally blank. A hard reset didn't help and the settings for apps within the notification ...

Texting and driving is clearly a wrong thing to do, but then, so is eating and driving, reading and driving, shaving or putting on makeup and driving, checking on a child and driving, it goes on. I've seen them all during my morning commutes. Banning one form of driving distraction, while ignoring all others, which are of equal importance, seems a bit short sighted. The root cause of many accidents is distracted driving, whatever the cause, and we have reckless driving ...

ATT and TMobile. A merger of "equals"?
Sep 11, 2011, 6:24 AM
in the Article: Lawmakers Want to Know Why DoJ Objected to AT&T/T-Mobile Deal forum

AT&T is reportedly pretty bad. TMobile seems to be getting worse. It seems only logical that consumers would be best served by allowing the merger to go forward so they will only have one bad mobile provider to exclude when considering which service to sign up with.

TMobile Sidekick 4G - Anybody?
May 11, 2011, 7:06 AM
in the Samsung Sidekick 4G forum

Does anybody else have a new TMobile Sidekick 4G? It's been out for 3 weeks now and I am beginning to think that I have the only two in existence. Personally, I like the phone. Having gone from an old MotoQ running WinMo 6.1 to a 4G Android phone probably makes it easy for me to be impressed but it works fine so far and I've pretty much remained in TMobile's 4G network since I got the thing (Northern Virginia).

Motorola ClIQ Android Update Schedule
Aug 23, 2010, 7:03 PM
in the Article: Motorola Updates Android Upgrade Schedule forum

They are really taking their time updating the CLIQ to Android 2.1. Seems to me that by the time they've gotten around to it, the CLIQ will be pretty long in the tooth and about ready for replacement. Hummmm.........is this by design do you think? I thought Moto was an honorable company. Am I wrong?

Unable to add a social network account - anyone have experience?
Feb 27, 2010, 10:07 AM
in the Motorola Cliq forum

My Cliq won't allow a Facebook account to be added to the list of accounts. It produces an error saying that it can't add the account at this time or words to that effect. It also won't allow Picasa, same problem. I can use Facebook as an independent application from the home screen, but it won't do what the Cliq is supposed to do and combine all social apps into one area. Has anyone experienced this problem? Thanks

Cliq Battery Life
Jan 18, 2010, 7:35 AM
in the Motorola Cliq forum

Although I like the Cliq's features, it has some quirks that concern me, most notably the battery life. Even after shutting off some applications and self-updating feeds, it seems to last only about 8 hours with very little use. I installed the battery/screen update but after a day it hasn't seemed to make any significant difference. I think any phone should give 24 hours minimum between charges or it just isn't useful. If anyone has any suggestions as ...

Sprint isn't that bad
Jan 27, 2009, 7:39 AM
in the Article: Sprint Trimming Work Force By 8,000 forum

I have had Sprint for about 7 months now and really can't find anything to complain about. My phone (Moto Q) works well, has all the features, TV, Navigation, etc, and connects everywhere I go. I've also got Verizon and T-Mobile Accounts (long story relating to work) and find Sprint a better deal financially than Verizon's plans, and just better than T-Mobile. Sprint's customer service is responsive, prices fair, features great. Maybe I am missing something here - a ...
