you do know that at&t did an audit and found that 98% of all smartphone users do not use more than 2gb of data. the mythic is not a smartphone, there is not way in hell that you can use more than 2gb of data. would you rather pay $25 for 2gb of data and use wi-fi to free up some of that space, or pay $30 for an unlimited amount when you're only using between 200mb and 2gb? I'd go with ...

not saying that sprint customer service doesn't suck, but if you're so unhappy with them, leave. When I said "wait it out", i said wait out your contract. Just suck it up. also, the reps are people. they respect you as a customer and you should respect them. You catch more bees with hunny than vinager.

why would you want a smartphone that uses the internet and email...and not use it the way it was designed?? that's like buying a hammer, and using it as a paper weight! it works, but why use a hammer for a paper weight when i can use an actual paper weight? if you get an internet/smartphone and don't want internet, then you don't need that phone. get a basic phone or a messaging phone if that's all you need ...

MP3s as Ringtones
Jan 13, 2010, 5:33 PM
in the Verizon forum

I've posted this a couple places elsewere, but with no answers. I just want to know if Verizon allows MP3s, from my SD card, to be played on their phones as a ringtone. I'm former Alltel customer and Alltel never let this happen due to some stupid "anti-piracy" policy. So can anyone help me out?

I used to have Alltel before Verizon bought them. With Alltel, you could not have mp3s from your SD card as ringtones because of some stupid anti-piracy crap. With Verizon, if I put my SD card in a new phone (with mp3s from CDs I bought) will I be able to put a select mp3 from my card as a ringtone on the phone?

Re: Exception upgrade?
Dec 27, 2008, 2:14 PM

yes, unless you have absolutely no way to replace your phone, if it's broken or whatnot, then we will NOT give you an early upgrade. If you're wanting a new phone for the sake of getting a new phone, then you are gauranteed to not get an early upgrade.

it's probably a problem with the battery, I would take it to a COR store to get it fixed

Alltel discontinued rokr?!
Dec 12, 2008, 3:52 PM
in the Motorola ROKR Z6m forum

Any insite on why Alltel decided to discontinue the z6m ROKR? Just kinda figures with my luck that as soon as I can upgrade to a phone I want, they don't have any new ones. Oh, well. guess I will just stick with getting a referbished model. But really, if anyone could shed some light on why Alltel did this with such a popular phone please tell me.

Re: Motorola z6m ROKR

I found that this is not true. I went to a COR store and asked this same question. They said that it wouldn't be an upgrade, I'd just buy it at the retail value which is actually the upgrade price. But they ARE willing to sell it to me if I ask for it.

Dec 7, 2008, 3:24 PM

Nope, sadly there is no plan for you, well for what you want anyway. the only regular text plans that AT&T offers are: $5/month for 200 msgs $15/month for 1500 msgs $20/month for unlimited msgs If you are wanting something inbetween for a Blackberry, I suggest going to the website and emailing the Customer Service Pres or VP and give them a suggestion on offering something between 200 and 1500 msgs.

As far as I know, the iPhone is not eligible to be a prepaid phone just because of the data plan and the special "iPhone SIM". So sorry, you're out of luck on that part.

Since Alltel is no longer offering the ROKR, the only phone I want from Alltel, would it be possible to upgrade to a referbished phone if my local Alltel COR store has one?

Re: Rounding minutes up on bill

if you're talking for more than 30 seconds then it's going to round up to the next minute. for example, if you talk for a minute and 45 seconds, then it's going to round up to 2 mins., and so on in that fasion. Otherwise it look like you're reading your minutes wrong.

yes, you would have to start a new contract. the only way to activate the iphone 2g is via iTunes and it MAKES you sign a two year contract.

ok, do YOU think you know better than the highly paid programmers that set this up and try to make it as fast and efficient as possible? Where is YOUR programming degree, YOUR consulting license? Just because you THINK that it should be done faster, doesn't mean that it isn't as fast as it can be already. If it could be faster, they make it faster. We at AT&T are not as dumb as you think we are.

most ppl I found don't NEED an exception upgrade. the only times i've found where it's valid, is: out of warranty w/ no insurance, and/or number is out of contract and they are not upgrade eligible (barring any notes saying otherwise)
