OPERA MINI not supported
Feb 19, 2009, 4:46 PM
in the Samsung Highnote M630 forum

I was in the SPrint store looking for a new phone and was testing the functionality of the higher end phones with support for opera mini. This phone crashed repeatedly while trying to install the app. The only ones of interest that ran it were teh new motorola (I dont remember te model but it has PTT and I hated it.) and the LG lotus with limited functionality becase of the non traditional keypad. So, I will wait.

Apparently a firmware update made the phone compatible with 1GB MicroSD cards. Sop if yours isnt working, ten take it in for a firware update. Unfortunately, the phone has been discontinued and Sprint says they really dont care about old phones other than PDA's by not releaseing any new firmware upgrades for them. My old A620 hasnt had a firware update in over two years.

I Knew it was a joke. But I wouldn't put it past Nokia to come up with some crap like that.

Well, since no US CDMA Carrier supports BREW, I doubt we will ever see this exact model in the US.

I like to see verizon doing something that another Company, Sprint, did over a year ago. And they think they are going to get 300-500 Kbps out of it? Whatever. To make matters worse, they have a smaller digital network than T-Mobile. So where is the smart choice?

no, no caller ID screen, you have to open the phone.

Nope, no whistles or bells.

This is basically an A500 without external caller ID and a Crappy case. Why anyone would want htis phone I know not. especially for the price. It even has the same internal screen as the A500, not the larger one that the VGA1000 And the A600 have. And for previous posts: You have always been able to change the setting on all Samsung clamshell phones to answer by the talk button only, by any button, or "automatic" by flipping the ...

Need someone remind you that about 2/3 of VZN's network is analog? And that in some areas VZN will charge you roaming fees for using their own Analog towers? And that verizon carries very poor quality phones? And that the data service with verizon uses your minutes? And that VZN's PTT doesn't work well yet, and that it only works on their digital network? Asnd That verizon's pricing sucks? And that they currently only carry one phone with an ...

simple. not thinking + Sony ericsson + Sprint = no results. This may be a reason behind the posting of the Users manual for the T608 when in liklihood, Sprint will never get it.

And what does all this have to do with the Sanyo 5500 (AKA VM4500)? No matter how long you talk about blutooth, sprint isn't going to get it anytime soon. My opinion on this is because they have an unlimited data plan. And their data service is fast. And they don't want people using their phones as Modems! Do you see where I am going here? Have I made my stream of logic clear enough? Anyway, the new Sanyo ...

No, you cannot switch from a contract plan to a month to month plan, they will charge you an ETF (early termination fee.) Sorry, won't work. And whoever says Sprint Sucks must not have ever had Sprint, or they live in BFE and are not within anyone's coverage area.
