My business partner and I just opened a store on East Dominick street across from where they have the car shows. It is multi-carrier offering Sprint, T-Mobile, and a few prepaid options. Stop in and check us out!

BEWARE!!!!

Hi, I own a store in upstate ny, Rome to be specific. Upstate NY has a dealer that is the shady equalivalent of The Mobile Solution, the dealers name is InTouch Wireless. Most of the Upstate NY stores are owned by either this company or Nexgen Wireless. InTouch is famous for screwing people over, I have never heard of that offer and have been selling sprint for a while, with the exception of a short stint at AT&T. I firmly ...

I work for a Sprint Retailer and we use SNAP. I have actually tried to remove the Welcome Call feature in SNAP and I get an error each and everytime, so I sort of question the fact that people are stating they have removed it. Also in response to "I call and hang up" theory, thats not going to work for the Sprint welcome call. The call needs to be completed or you will have everything you attempt to ...

I was wondering how much the old 500 minute SERO plan was and what was included. I have a customer that wants an instinct and I need to figure out whether I can come close to what she was paying on the SERO. Thanks in advance.

Is anyone else having issues with Sprint TV on a BB?
Dec 24, 2008, 12:02 PM
in the Sprint forum

I have a blackberry curve 8330 and everytime I try to access Sprint TV I get an error message that states: The servers certificate could not be trusted, Do you wish to continue? I can try to press continue all I want and the error just keeps popping up. I had a customer try to access this feature on her Pearl and she was getting the same treatment. Then I contacted Tech Support and went through the whole deleting the program ...

This actually started happening on my curve about three days ago. I did pull the battery and it fixed the issue the first time. The other time it did it, I just turned it off an turned it back on again and it was fixed. I have a feeling that if I was to turn my phone off once a day like you are supposed to that I would not be experiencing the problem anymore.

I think the OP wants to know if he/she will get upgrade pricing in the store. The answer is no, not if you just got subsidized pricing in February. You will not be eligible for an upgrade for a while to come yet. Until then you are looking at full retail price regardless of where you purchase your phone. You could buy from eBay, but keep in mind that Verizon will not warranty phones purchased through eBay.

It could be either. I have sprint and verizon phones and on my verizon phone it shows the time that it was sent, on my Sprint phone it shows the time that it actually arrived on my phone. I tend to see alot more delayed messages with my Sprint phone than I do my verizon.

Kind of Similar Story about Premier Technologies
Sep 3, 2008, 11:47 AM
in the AT&T forum

I used to work for an inidirect store in upstate ny (Premier Technologies) and a few months later left due to the constant back and forth from management. Then I opened a Sprint Store (I am feeling the pain from that idea). But anyway, back to the story. Feature flipping and slamming was actually the way that Premier Technology trained employees. The first two things that I taught in regards to features was, sometimes people come in with old codes ...

I own a 3rd party Sprint exclusive location and we do not even have the ability to notate an account. When I give a cust a "price cut" I make sure that they are aware that the deal has a shelf life of until they walk out of the store. It is never brought accross to the cust that they can call CS or go to another store and get the same deal. i am obviously offering the deal to ...

Re: it's getting serious now
Sep 2, 2008, 3:29 PM
in the Sprint forum

No it is not note worthy. Sales reps are commission based, regardless of what carrier you would like to apply it to. The reason for offering a "better" price is to persuade the customer into buying right then from you, not so that the customer can go back home and call telesales or CS. The problem is not the rep that didnt notate the account, the problem is the customer that assumes that because the rep quoted a price it ...

WOW!! Your are an awesome customer. Truth is that most reasonable customers do understand that idea once it has been explained to them. However their are those customers that will never get it, regardless of the amount of patience a rep has explaining it. But I do thank you for being one that does.

I used to work for an indirect in upstate ny. The pay was $9.00/hr plus commission. Then we got spiffs if you hit 50+ phones over the month, the spiffs were based on Accessory Revenue, Feature revenue, New Activations, Data Devices, etc. I pretty much hit around 60-70 activations every month and hit all the spiffs except Accessory Revenue (never hit that one, I suck) and I was making around $42k a year. Hope that helps!

Re: Verizon Add-on Fees
Aug 25, 2008, 11:57 AM
in the Verizon forum

There are 2 reasons that the fee is charged. 1.) The cellbrite machine that does the transfer is usually a $1000 piece of equipment on most carriers co-op lists. 2.) transfering your contacts can be done yourself through mobile backup which is a free service as long as you are registered on verizonwireless.com. As soon as a new phone activates on your phone number your contacts are sent back to your new phone. this saves verizon money because while that rep ...

I am really not to familiar with T-Mobile as we only have 1 T-Mobile store in my area, and hardly any T-Mobile customers (nearest good tmob coverage is about 56 miles away). However I did work customer service for them 2004-2005 and they did charge an upgrade fee then. If you have upgraded your phone 3 times in the last year, it doesnt sound like those are true upgrades (contract runs out and then you renew with a discount on ...

I am a Sprint rep and try my best not to be a jerk, but now I must be an a$$ in this customer's mind because you want to post something ridiculous? Are you guys one of those indirects that promise to waive upgrade fees, and then have to call CS when the customer gets their bill and battle it out with a rep? I am an indirect myself, so I am not jumping to corporate defense, but agents that do that are the reason that no one want to go to a store that isn't "real"

Re: Verizon Add-on Fees
Aug 21, 2008, 12:00 AM
in the Verizon forum

The Upgrade fee is industry standard. Most companies charge $18 though. The fee to transfer your contacts is industry standard as well (at least with cdma products), the reason for this is that there are ways to have them transfered yourself (ie. if you are registered on verizonwireless.com you can download wireless backup and not be billed the 1.99/month), or you can go the old fashion way and do it by hand. Either way you are being charged for ...

I looked into the Franchise thing with The Wireless Zone. It looks good and will be the route that I take in the event that I cannot find a good Master Agent. A Master Agent is a company that has a direct agreement with VZW corporate that includes the ability to sub contract to other dealers. basically the same as a franchise, but without Franchise fees.

The corporate account rep that I met with in my area will not allow you to become an indirect unless you make you store look identical to a cor store (which is a lot more expensive than purchasing fixtures from where you please) and informed me that I was only able to sell VZW and VZW Prepaid. I currently offer two products that I am not willing to give up, Drive Mobile (wireless for the credit challenged) and Dish ...

Does Verizon Have Any Master Agents?
Aug 20, 2008, 6:47 AM

I currently own a Sprint store, under a master agent. Like everyone else in the world, Sprint owes me too much money for unpaid activations, I just dont want to sell their product any more. Get a 450 minute premium plan. That will include 450 daytime minutes, free n&w, unlimited m2m, unlimited text/pic (to any carrier, unlimited mobile web, mobile email, and navigation. This plan is 79.99 before taxes and fees. So about 93.50 after taxes give or take a dollar or two either way for tax differences depending on area.

That may be so, but if those rules were followed by all, there would be a huge shortage of worth while posts on Phonescoop. I dont know about other users, but I like phonescoop because it is a place where people can post opinions and debate on topics, not for the news quality, because many other sites get the news long before PS. I am a Sprint indirect store owner, and I dont really find cellenator's amusing either, but he is only posting information and giving his opinion on that information. He only gets sarcastic when people respond to him in a sarcastic manor. If we censor that type of material then we are american hypocrites to the first amendment, I suggest that if you dont like his posts, don't read them.

I think that you should go to ww.t-mobile.com and read up on My Fav's, it doesnt matter if the number is a cell with any carrier or even a landline. Being that is the truth of My fav's I am not quite sure where your post comes from. T-Mobile Europe maybe?

Re: It's funny when people try to defame Rollover.
Aug 7, 2008, 1:29 AM

Rollover is a gimmick. I will agree that it may work for some people that do not have what would be deemed as normal usage, however most consumers have a well established usage pattern. AT&T knows this, thats why rollover exists, not because it is a huge beneifit to the consumer, but because it SOUNDS like a huge benefit to the consumer and doesnt really affect AT&T's wallet. The T-Mobile rep should have should have retorted with My Fav's. Most ...

As long as you were within your 30 days, you got a new phone from a corporate store. If you went to an Indirect you may want to question it. I own an indirect store and would never do that to someone, nor would the majority of indirects, however I do know of an Indirect in my area that would do something like that. (InTouch Wireless). Your point was well taken, and I agree with your opinion as stated in my previous post, my comment was in regards to the people that do want a new phone constantly. If you plan to go camping or boating I would once again spring the $20 on a car charger for the camping trip, and as far as boating, if you are spending a weekend on a boat with no electricity, that is going to be a long weekend my friend. Re: Jitterbug Phone on Sprint?

I am not sure what technology Jitterbug uses, but if it is CDMA then yes it is. You just have to have the software flashed. If you do a search for flashing cell phones on google you will find a lot of reliable options. However before you go through all of that, it would probably be easier to find already on the Sprint network that is simple to use, has a huge display, and large buttons. The LG Muziq has all ...
