" Conditional = The t-mobile phone will ring first, then if unanswered will forward the call to another number. ( only free if it is sent to the voicemail ) " Forwarding calls to the voicemail is the ONLY number you can forward to that is not billed like regular call forwarding. Any other # you forward calls to will be billed as regular min used. Unless you set up unconditional forwarding , then it will take out of the ...

Unfortunately your best bet would be to buy a Sidekick and pay to get it unlocked yourself. T-mobile stopped giving out the unlock codes for the Sidekick because even if you are on another network like AT&T the phone is set to always try to connect to the internet service provided by Danger ( the phone manufacturer ) and there is no way to change the internet settings on the Sidekick to work with any other data service. And I would ...

T-Mobile has TWO types of call forwarding. Conditional and unconditional. Conditional = The t-mobile phone will ring first, then if unanswered will forward the call to another number. ( only free if it is sent to the voicemail ) Unconditional = The T-Mobile phone never rings and all calls are sent directly to another number. The 500 min bucket is for Unconditional call forwarding only. So to be able to use it you would have to set ALL of your calls to ...

I work Smart Access , there is not a separate retention department for Smart Access accounts. And anyone who has access to Streamline can read the policy not just retention reps.

I am not forcing anyone to cheat, just telling them how in case they want to. Knowledge is power! Power to the people! If you ask me all companies charge to much for there service. If you can find a way to stick it to the man then you should.

Actually I do work for T-mobile customer care and have for over 5 years. If you read the policy it does not ask for anything to be faxed in for military suspend or cancel.

If you say you want to cancel they may offer you better prices on buying a new phone from the upgrade program. But you would have to extend your contract and would still have to pay for an upgrade.

There is no t-mobile policy that says you have to fax in any proof that you are enlisted or being deployed. If you get a rep who asks you to they are wrong. just say you will fax it in then hang up and call back to get someone else. Just like calling in to suspend or cancel for any other reason like lost/stolen or the owner of the account has died, they dont ask for a police report or ...

Two things to remember if you do that. 1) EVERYONE who calls you and you dont answer will be forwarded to that # so you will not get any new voice mail messages as long as you leave it forwarding to a different # 2) If you forward calls to a # other than your voice mail you be billed as if your phone was making an outbound call to that #. even if it is only forwarded to a disconnected ...

Of course it would be your own fault if you get overage. But if you are to lazy or absent minded to remember to check how many messages you have left then don't use the cheat. I already explained exactly how to do it and even how to check your amount of messages from the phone. And the point of the quote was not to say Benjamin Franklin was promoting cheating the system, it was to make the point that ...

Not that I would cancel my T-Mobile service. The nice thing about the policy for waiving the ETF for military is that T-Mobile does not have access to government records saying who is enlisted and being deployed. As long as your not to old to be on active duty you can call in any time and claim to be enlisted and being deployed to cancel your service without an ETF.

T-mobile does not allow you to block incoming calls. probably so you cant block collection calls from t-mobile. Some phone models do have a menu option for call blocking but the service is not available on the t-mobile network. Some companies do but usually only on phones that are for little kids that have pre-set #s in them. You could change your mobile # but it will cost you $15.00 to change it. Or you could stop answering your phone if its an ...

As long as it is just a normal phone tech suport should be able to send the settings for t-mobile data and mms/sms to the phone as an automatic update. Some PDA style phones may not be so easy to get the settings for and will have to be manualy entered. And some phones will not work for data at all on other networks. Like the t-mobile sidekick , you cant use that for data on any other service provider but ...

You can start service in an area that does have t-mobile coverage and get a phone # local to that area. As long as you get a nation wide plan you can use the t-mobile phone anywhere you can pick up a signal from one of the roaming partners towers. Only problem is that people who call you will be charged as if there are calling the city you activated the phone from and may be charged long distance.

The alternate exchange program is only available based on what the warehouse has in stock. At the time I replaced my SDA with a DASH the warehouse had a surplus of DASH phones. Not every model of phone has an alternate exchange offered. And sometimes the replacement is not an upgrade, you could have a DASH and be offered an SDA as an exchange. There is no real way to tell what is going to be available when you call in. ...

There are two ways to possibly get a different phone. 1) if you have insurance you can pay for a new phone, sometimes the insurance company will replace it with a phone of equal value and similar features. but you still have to pay the insurance deductible. 2) T-Mobile does offer an " alternate exchange " on phones , but to qualify for it you have to have done 2 or 3 exchanges on your phone for the same issue ...

NO! It sounds like a dumb idea to pay more for the exact same thing. If your not smart enough to figure out a way to get the same service for a lower price then you deserve to have to pay more than the people who can figure out how to get a better deal in life. " a penny saved is a penny earned " - Benjamin Franklin Sounds pretty smart to me.

The whole point of this thread was to ask if there was a cheaper feature to use. Why pay $5.99 for t-zones + $14.99 for unlimited SMS = $20.98 when the blackberry plan is $20.00 already. Without cheating the SMS feature you end up paying $0.98 MORE than the blackberry plan for the same features. Its not that hard to check your messages by dialing #674# on your phone, then spending 2 min online to change the feature, you could even do ...

It's not really a hack. its just changing the settings in the menu of the phone that makes it connect to the WAP service for the internet insted of connecting directly to the internet. And they do have every right to turn it off, but I am pretty sure they would rather have people pay 5.99 for internet insted of canceling because they are upset over loosing the ability to use the 5.99 internet.

The blackberry plan does NOT send SMS over the internet ( non of the data plans do ) it just comes bundled with the unlimited internet feature and an unlimited SMS feature, it is still sending SMS just like any other T-Mobile phone. So even if you do get the 5.99 internet package with the Shadow you would still need to have a SMS feature as well. you can get unlimited messages with the 4.99 for 400 messages. what you have ...

As with ALL T-Mobile phone that use a chat program like AIM , Yahoo and MSN it does NOT require any kinda of data plan to use. every message sent or received is sent just like a text message using the SMS service over the t-mobile network. you are billed like a text message for every one sent or received. so you may want to get a SMS bundle but it is not required to use the chat programs.

Re: Here is the hustle
Dec 2, 2007, 3:14 AM

the problem with your first idea is that T-Mobile registers the IMEI number of a phone under the account that makes or receives the first call on that device. that means in order to file an insurance claim on the phone you would have to have been the very first person to ever use it. so you are still stuck having to find a way to get the phone you want in the first place so you will still ...

there are a few way you can still upgrade. 1. you can still place upgrade orders online even if you dont qualify for a full upgrade. log in to your t-mobile account and go to phones and accessories then on the right ride of the page select upgrade my phone. you will not get the same price as full discount but it still a partial discount but you do have to extend your contract. 2. you can call in and say you ...

to answer your questions 1. yes it takes a regular mini-USB cable ( for charging and data transfer ) 2. I dont think it is , thats why I just programed in the proxy settings to use the 5.99 t-zones for the internet ( look up how to do this on the Dash or SDA its the same on the Shadow ) its $14.00 less but does not come with Hot Spot service. 3. the shadow does have twice the RAM but ...
