I have the device but I can't tell if its Rev 0 or Rev A. How do you tell (other than calling VZW)? I looked under the battery, in the "info" device settings and even, gulp, in the manual.

There is no "true" GPS on the phone - like the i730. It has some rudimentary "tower based" location services - but you'll need an external GPS device connected via Bluetooth for the GPS software to work.

BabyDoc is right. The i760 does not have "true" GPS - it has "tower based" location services. I looked on the Garmin and Tom-Tom websites and both sites require the purchase of a bluetooth enabled GPS device in addition to their software for the i760 to work wit their software. Oh well.

However, if you take the unlimited data VZW will take another $50 or $100 off of the price of the device (online) - depending on the device and the voice package. With the online discount, the "new every 2" and the unlimited data discount I only paid $99 for the i760.

I'm glad to hear it! I had hoped to try out the Garmin GPS software on my phone and save myself $350 for a dedicated GPS device. P.S. - I ordered an i760 online and it should arrive Mon. I would only return the i760 if VZW offered the Tilt (which its not) or the HTC Touch II. I'm really hoping for more WM6 overlays similar to the ones created by HTC on the Touch. I ...

Here's another: It looks like VZW disabled the GPS on the new i760. There is no mention of GPS capabilities on VZW's website even though every pre-release review of the phone has listed GPS as a capability. I just ordered one and I'll verify when I get it.

The i760 was supposed to have GPS. However, there is no mention of GPS capability on Verizon's website. It looks like VZW has disabled the GPS. Maybe I'll be able to find a hack and turn it back on.

Correct! Thx

Thx. I mis-stated the model - it is actually the RAZR V3m. I have not had a reason to buy a micro SD card and it is, again, an added expense. Why won't they simply let me connect with a standard USB cable? Isn't that why Moto put a standard micro USB connector on the phone? :) From what I read, other carriers allow the V3 to use the USB connection for transfers, sync ...

Rev 0 vs. Rev A

Does anyone know if the i760 will be Rev0 or RevA? The original device (Dec 2006) was Rev 0 and I haven't seen anyone post anything about the version since then.

VZW may have been waiting for the Qualcom lawsuit to blow over.

I really loved the way that VZW won't allow me to download pics from my wife's RAZR2 without paying .75 per pic to email or $30 for a cable. The phone has the capability to connect natively to Windows via USB but VZW decided to disable that ability. I have tried the hacks but will have to buy the VZW driver in order for my phone to be recognized by Windows before I can change the RAZR2 ...
