Re: Frustrated with Android!!!
Figure out which apps they are. Uninstall non-important ones. Look at available storage memory. Clear out old messages and logs and other caches. When you exit a program hit the menu button then close, instead of just backing out, if you aren't going to need it for a while.
You may want to look into the built in task manager. I haven't played with it a lot on the Evo, but on the Epic it's great.

Yeah, but you're comparing the destroyed Nextel of today with the CDMA, WiMax, etc that have had BILLIONS of dollars pumped into them while iDEN has had not one cent put into it for five years now.
Again, the above is completely and 100% false. If anything, iDEN has had more investment than CDMA. Look back through engadget, phonescoop, or whatever other blogs (not to mention internal emails and pages that touted it) that talked about dropped ...

RE: "Why does Nextel suck so bad in the USA?"
It's simply because Sprint bought Nextel just to take over the spectrum that Nextel owned.
Sprint employees nearly all hate Nextel, so they not only do not promote it, they actively try to make it go away. Now that they got all the spectrum from Nextel (that is what Sprint & Clear are using for their new WiMax network now), they just want Nextel & iDEN to go away so ...

I've been a Sprint customer for little more than a year and I decided to go with Sprint based on savings and their 4G quality network. So far, I have no compliants, but their is a new program that Sprint is offering via Virgin Mobile that has the potential to help out customers and consumers alike who need service and have trouble affording good cell service.
The “Assurance Wireless†program is being in offered in five states and exclusively ...

If you have no interest in Data may I suggest the Sanyo 2700, the phone looks slightly like a blackberry but is just intended to text and make calls.

It's a huge waste to get a blackberry but not use data/email on it. If you want a phone for voice and text get geared towards those features.
Re: can the sanyo SCP-2700 be transfered over to cricket?
Call a local Cricket store and ask. Just a note- if they flash it to work on Cricket you won't be able to use it for Sprint after that.
Re: whom do i contact @sprint about becoming a retailer for them?
Call the local store, ask the store manager for contact info for the indirect account rep.
In my area Sprint has wittled down a lot of the 3rd party/indirect dealers, so your chance of becoming a new and small player is slim.
Re: I cannot believe...
lol. They aren't quitting your plan. The problem is that it's barely profitable to begin with for old services. New phones do more stuff that costs more money to license and carry. You want the new stuff then change to a plan that lets the company make some profit. Otherwise it's just a leech on the system and isn't worth the time.
Re: instinct hd vs htc herp
The only reason I'd go with an Instinct HD is for better camera quality. Then again, if I needed really great camera quality I'd carry a dedicated camera since any phone based camera is a poor substitute. Oh, and the Instinct HD is way overpriced. Hero or Pre all the way.
Re: I gotta know
The training offered is pretty good. However, there are a few things that can happen:
1- rep is dumb as bricks and doesn't belong in electronics/wireless/retail
2- rep is shady and doesn't care to learn and then says whatever comes to mind to make a sale
3- area/district doesn't hire enough people so training gets less focus
I see all of these on a daily basis.
Re: Instinct HD to launch at $250 after rebate?
Unless it's priced at $50- 100 out the door, it's going to be dead in the water. $250, after a $100 main in rebate, is ridiculous. It may have "HD" video, but that won't mean anything unless the camera capture quality is outstanding. Most phones have mediocre lenses and other parts, something increasing the pixel count won't fix. Aside from that, the Instinct's operating system is old and needs to get the Old Yeller treatment. ...
Re: Samsung Instinct HD
Waste of time. Get an Instinct Q or HTC Hero or Palm Pre.
Re: why do u own a blackberry
I love it when I ask what the email address is and it's @carrier.blackberry.net
Seriously? Go get a gmail or yahoo or msn address.

Re: No contract option?
Unless you plan on leaving the country or moving soon, you end up spending less money by having the contract. If you dislike the service within 30 days, return it. If you keep service for more than a few months it ends up being cheaper to break the contract and pay the ETF. Seriously, it's just $150- 200. You save more than that on the cost of the phone when you get service. The ...

Re: AIRWAVE
A new version that supports EVDO data is in the works. Whether it's worth the wait or not is a better question, though.
Re: drop 2 year contract
Unless they broke the terms of service, as in a tower where you use it often was discontinued or some other material change, pay the ETF.
It's a contract. If you signed it and got a discount on phones then you shouldn't expect a free out.
Re: LG Lotus Downloads?
You could:
1- waste hours upon hours trying to sort out how to do it
or
2- add a data plan, download a game or two, wait a day, cancel data plan (and therefore pay only a prorated amount for it)
Seriously, just add it, get what you need, then cancel it. The time wasted in looking for a work around isn't worth it.
Re: WHY? How 'bout why don't you change your freakin password
Hm.. learned something new today.
I hear ya on locking a computer. In the real world that doesn't always happen, though. I'd rather fire idiots like the one mentioned by the OP. People who would do that need to go bag groceries or dig ditches where they don't have access to customer/client info.
Re: WHY? How 'bout why don't you change your freakin password
In a situation where workers and managers float from register to register, it's not uncommon for someone else to be logged in when a transaction is done.
Btw, wtf is an "ordure"?
Re: frontline customer service
I like this one, "hey, this customer's internet isn't working." "did you check to see they had it on their plan and it wasn't blocked?" "... ..."
Re: Is it legal
If you live in a state where they can hire/fire at will, as long as you don't have a contract.
Perhaps the advice is too late, but I'd avoid telling an employer about a job hunt unless a new job was secure or I was reasonably confident of getting a raise.
Re: Touch pro2 Pricing??
Lots of phones have been more than $300. In the last couple years $300 has been near the top, but there's a lot of time before that contained in "ever."
Re: Do you let your feelings influence how much you help the customer?
Yes. If I don't like them (if I think they are a jerk) I give them less consideration than someone that I think makes the world a better place.
Re: Not receiving all picture/text messages from friends
Take your phone into a repair store for a reception test and leave it for a few hours. If possible, give them the #s and carriers of friends that you aren't receiving messages from. They won't call or bother them, but tech support can use that info to check things.
I'm not sure if they have phones from other carriers or if they have systems that replicate it, but they'll send messages that originate on the other carrier's ...

Since the app world is there to sell you apps, why would they charge you for it?
It'd be like the grocery store charging you to get in.

Re: Looking for A Pre'
Call the store tomorrow after about 9 a.m. Drive there, buy it.
Goto bestbuy, buy it.
Call telesales, buy it, wait 1- 2 days for shipping.
Sprintstorelocator.com shows a few stores within ten miles of that zip code. The first is a 3rd party store. One of the other two is probably a corporate store:
The Esplanade Shopping Center
361 Esplanade Dr
Oxnard, CA 93036
(805) 278-2727
4860 Telephone Road
Ventura, CA 93003

if you are third party, you should have a corp. Liason (someone who works for the actual carrier that is assigned to your company/store) talk to them.
^^^ This.
3rd party plans don't qualify for in store/web/telesales discounts. You have to go through your indirect account manager unless you want to pay full retail.
In my experience in talking with 3rd party reps around me, it seems that the ability for indirect account managers to get you a ...
Re: Nextel Question
That's probably something you should ask your manager or district guy/gal. Without working for that 3rd party dealer there's no way to know what they have going on.
Re: BlackBerry Tour ???
Probably never.
I'm personally not a fan of VVM. If people can take the time to leave me a voice mail they should have taken 1/2 the time to send me a text. Voicemail is a form of time rape.

Re: TELESALES (please read)
I'd have to say I see about an equal amount of my own store's reps not checking an address for coverage when setting up a new account.
The issue is that most sales reps are focused only on the immediateness of the sale, whether or not it's in the customer and their company's best interest.
Re: Blackberry Tour availability for Sprint employees?
On one of the internal blogs, someone from employee care replied and said tomorrow, the 23rd. It didn't say his position or authority level, though, so take it with a grain of salt.
Re: WHERE IS THIS PHONE?
In testing and final development?
Re: so... I was thinking
My coworker was talking about blackberry and said it was his dream "to get a rim job." After a few seconds of waiting I replied, "you sure you don't want to rephrase that?"

Re: ATTENTION CUSTOMER CARE
In my experience, I wouldn't trust the average sales rep (and maybe not even the average tech support rep) to really know when it's best to exchange a device. The sales reps all around me swap phones day in and day out that are plan setup issues, network provisioning issues, or just ignorance of how the thing works.
Swapping a phone and burning hundreds of dollars in company resources should be among the last steps. My ...
