Am I the only one that can initiate a conference call?
Jul 22, 2011, 6:00 PM
in the Apple iPhone 4 (CDMA) forum

I hear a lot of reviewers saying the CDMA iPhone does not allow you to initiate a conference call, but mine will allow me to "add call". Now, the "add call" button is greyed out for the first 15 seconds of the call, but after that it does become available. Just have to be patient I guess. Is this the case for everyone else?

I was told that it covers everything, even loss, however there is a $129 deductible.

Go to Messages, press the menu button then go to View Folder > Phone Call Logs. It keeps all calls (incoming, outgoing and missed calls) for as long as you have your BB to save messages.

Is .219 the "package version"? Is so, the package version is different the the application version. I just checked on Blackberry, and while there is an update version 4.6.0.298, that package still contains the OS .167

If you set up your email online with AT&T, you probably have the "Auto BCC" checked. I'd check that first.

Re: Question for those Bold users...

I was a long time BB user, then I switched to the iPhone 3G when it came out. Stuck with it for about four months and when the Bold came out, I went back to BB, and haven't regretted it at all. For be it was like coming home again, but for someone new to BB, it's quite a switch. The Bold's email function blows the iphone out of the water, especially if you have multiple ...

I have had the best luck with PocketMac from Blackberry, but I use Entourage. You can also use Missing Sync, but that will cost about $40. The reason I like PocketMac is that is does sync directly with Entourage, and Missing Sync syncs with Address Book and iCal and then copies over to Entourage. Neither of these are perfect, but good luck.

I'm in the Denver area and the Bold's reception blows the iPhone out of the water. Had the iPhone for about four months and the dropped calls used to drive me nuts. It seemed like the iPhone couldn't handle the 3G to Edge hand-off. I was just going to go back to the Curve and live with Edge until they got the 3G bugs worked out, but decided to take a chance with the Bold. ...

Re: No Predictive Text? What's up? Any apps?

I've never missed it. You do however have Autotext, which in my opinion is better. With Autotext you can create your own "shorthand". For example, one of my personal Autotexts is "OMW". Whenever I type OMW in a message it automatically expands it to "On My Way". Another is "SYI". That automatically expands to "See You In", so when I type "SYI (space) 5, it expands out to "See you in 5". I think ...

Texting is not like it is on the Palm, but when you do look at your text messages, you can adjust the number of previous texts you also see. I have mine set at seven, so that means that when I open a text from someone, it also shows me the previous seven msgs (out and in). You can adjust that number up as high as you want, but I've never needed more. You can also scroll down ...

Re: Bold or Storm
Nov 24, 2008, 12:16 PM
in the BlackBerry Bold 9000 forum

I have the Bold, and had a chance to play with the Storm this weekend, and in my opinion, there is no comparison. The Bold is easily the best smartphone I have ever had. The Bold is very quick, while the Storm, on the other hand, was PAINFULLY slow. The Storm's lag when switching from portrait to landscape was easily three seconds, looking up contacts was cumbersome, and remembering to press the screen until it clicked wasn't ...

It's worth coming back. I loved my Curve, ditched it for the iPhone, then missed BB too much, went back to the Curve in Oct and then returned it for the Bold the day it came out. Best BB I've ever used. It does come with Word To Go, Excel To Go and Slideshow To Go (Powerpoint). I also forgot how much I really missed Cut/Copy/Paste. It's nice to be home again.

Hey, I think pepsijunky was responding to a review by someone named "CingularSUX". It is pretty crazy that they loved the phone and the only Con was the size and that dropped it from a "5" to a "2". Came from a Curve and an iPhone, and I honestly like the size a little better.

Depends on what is important to you. I loved my Curve then switched to the iphone for about three months, liked it a lot, but missed certain things about my old BB. If you have multiple email accounts the BB is the best! I got tired of escaping all the way out of one email account to check my other accounts. Battery life on the Bold is far better than the iphone. I ...

Have them send an MMS to your email address. They don't have to send it through their email address as all phones allow you to send SMS and MMS messages to email address as well as cell numbers.

go to options>SMS text and make sure that "delivery reports" is set to "on". When you send a text a check will appear next to the message. When the message I'd received, a small "D" will a appear above the check mark.

Can't help you with the Alarm issue, but I think I can with the Opera issue. On your Curve, go to Options>Advanced Options>TCP. On the APN line type "wap.voicestream.com" (without the quotation marks of course). I am assuming that you have TMobile though. Good luck with Opera. I was underwhelmed by it, but then again, I am used to the installed browser. Hope it helps

There are shortcut keys depending on how you have your phone set up. If you set up your phones general options so that "Dial from Home Screen" is set to "NO" (Send Key>Menu>Options> General Options), then there are a lot of shortcuts you can use. "F" is Profiles, "M" is Messages, "T" is Tasks, "L" is Calendar, "A" is Address Book and so on. When you are on the main menu, look for the letter that is underlined ...

It all depends on the devices memory. It hold a lot more than a standard cell. I have my phone set to keep 15 days worth of messages, but you can increase that if you want to keep more.

How has your UMA service been at home? My phone keeps dropping UMA and switching to EDGE and most of the time it drops the call in the process. I have had to switch off my WiFi at home because everyone that calls me on it hates it.

Re: Curve vs Wing

Blackberry's OS is not like Windows Mobile (WM). When I used a WM phone it used to drive me nuts that I had to actually go into each program and shut it down when the phone got slow. BB isn't like that. You and move from one application to another and it doesn't slow it down. Three days after I switched from WM to BB I swore I would NEVER go back to a WM phone again. ...

All the settings are correct and mine connects without any problem to both the TMO router and my old router as well. Everything is great until I am on a call. On average, I get about 30 seconds into a call before it switches back to EDGE, then a minute later it will switch back to UMA It is supposed to switch seamlessly between EDGE and UMA, but most of the time it drops the call. ...

I don't get it. So what's the difference between @Home and TMO Hotspots? The phone works flawlessly in TMO Hotspots. I was at the Hyatt this weekend and they have it in all the rooms. It never swtiched to EDGE. By the way, I am also Razruzr. When I came up with that User name a couple years ago, I had a Razr. Thanks,
