Got my Verizon 755P from IT the Friday before Christmas. So far, so good. A couple of unexplained self reboots but otherwise solid. The web could be faster, but is workable. Phone seems good and the e-mail is certainly working fine. YMMV of course. DD

Looks like it is now available per Verizon's website. Now the question is "Do I feel lucky?" If it took them this long to get it out, what kind of pain and suffering is in store for the early adoptors? Do I jump now, or wait for a bit? Anyone with experience getting a just-released device from these folks? FWIW I was in a Verizon store this weekend and tried to get an update on a release date. Left the store after getting a blank stare from the dude on the floor which was followed by the now standard line of "They do not tell us about new products." Verizon has a viciously effective training program if they can get all of their customer facing employees to mouth the phrase "They do not tell us about new ...

Our Corporate IT folks had a visit by a VP of some kind from Verizon recently. Our guys asked the VP point blank what was going on as there are a number of us with old phones that are due for an upgrade. There was some mealy-mouthed mention of late November as the possible new release date for the 755p, but there was no commitment to any date. Our guys said that the meeting was like eating rice ...

I've heard chatter of a mid-November date too. But not much, if anything, solid to back that up. I've only got a couple of weeks left on my current Verizon contract. May have to go to a Sprint store this weekend and see what they can do.

Now Sept. 12 and the Verizon customer service folks don't know a thing about it. Funny that if was coming out on Verizon that they would not tell their customer service folks about it so that they could try and make a sale, or at least pique some interest. My contract is about up and was hoping to renew with Verizon. May have to think different.
