Yes actually there is a setting for missed messges, but from what i have experienced its just text messages. well anyway. you go to messaging>settings>general>message alert>reminder and from there you have three options of Off, Once, and Every two minutes. hope that helps! good luck.
oh and homeslice5484, call quality on the rant is crystal clear. im sure the samsung phone(s) you had on those other carriers only had bad call quality due to the service you were receiving.. but ...

well if you sensed an attitude from me then it was all on you because of your "duh" remarks and stuff like that. but anyway; Sprint_2008 gave a very clarifying description of what i was trying to explain.
at this point its kind of hard to tell which one of the two lines (yours or your mothers) has the premier customer/white glove status. you could always call and ask.. OR
you can log into your sprint account at sprint.com and take ...

"follow your INSTINCT"

please, some people come to cell phone carriers for service and best service for the money. and if there are people like that they wont care for the phone selection. sure sprint has an awkward set of phones but as long as you, the person who doesnt like sprint because of that, do not have service with sprint it wouldnt matter now would it.

i really do not believe that this is a scam. it so is the subscribers responsibility to call in after 30 days and cancel the vision service if you do not like it. the reason why they do that is because they allow you to use it for free for a month, basically a test drive, and if you like it, then you keep it. but if you dont like it/do not even want it, just take it because ...

yes. you can do everything the phone does when its not slided out. it says that when you slide it open it goes to the messaging for ease of text and quick access. but you can press the end button or back and it'll go to the main screen. then you can press the menu button and stuff like that to do other things. i tried it at the sprint store. =]
