Re: AT&t and Spectrum
Doesn't matter if I work for AT&T or not, it just shows that there are folks who much rather Verizon or Sprint buy T-mobile then AT&T because they personally don't like the blue "Death Star."
AT&t and Spectrum
After hearing so much negative bashing I think its time people realize WHY AT&T is doing what they are doing. They know how their network works. They are aware of their faults and they have been recently VERY OPEN about it. They are looking to expand and boost their service to their customers regardless of opinion. It drives me MAD to see so many people bashing AT&T with their recent push to purchase T-Mobile.
People didn't complain that Sprint bought ...
Very Nice!
An LG rep came by the other day with a pre-release version for us to play with and from my hands on I can say Windows is VERY nice. It runs fast and smooth and is simple to navigate. I think Windows will certainly take off.
Go DoCoMo
Gotta give it to foreign markets. They certainly are pioneering the way for things to come.
With something like this, it will be easier for AT&T to switch to LTE when they decide to do so...
Very good news for AT&T
This is good news for AT&T since they are looking to use LTE as their 4G. That being the case it will make the transition a lot smoother. Now if they could only do that with their EDGE to 3G handoff without a dip in service they'd be golden.
Re: AT&T Authorized Retailer iPhone
Our agent just announced we are one of three agents in the NYC market, one of two in the Philly Market, and ONLY one in Virginia to get the iPhone. The bad news is Apple is looking at our stores to see which of our stores will be approved and we will be told at a later date what are the details of that. So now for us 20 agents we pretty much will have to stop bashing it but ...
Re: You are wrong, my friend.
Yep the Horde were the bad guys in She-Ra led my Hordak(he was superior to Skeletor!) while She-ra led the resistance known as the Alliance. But now that you mention it, I haven't played WoW in a while.
This is a GOOD thing!!
Even if we make very little GP on the iPhone its a GOOD thing. Not even a minute ago I just had to tell a guy to go to a store that has the iPhone but I might lose his two other lines that he's porting over all because we don't have the ONE phone he was looking for. What we'll make our money on is the other lines that we lose to not having ONE phone.
Re: You are wrong, my friend.
"The battles are as epic as Chevy and Ford! Honda and Toyota! The Alliance and the Horde!"
So you love cars and watch She-Ra Princess of Power? 8) Sorry it was just too funny not to reply.
I'm very glad AT&T is offering this promotion to prepaid customers who talk and text a LOT. It's perfect for the person who would rather not sign a contract and doesn't care about a good phone. For folks like myself ...
Be smart for any carrier to pick these up
If any carrier picked these up it would be a wise decision. It would only make sense if it was a GSM carrier though since iDen variates from it. So while I can see Tmobile buying, it would be really smart on AT&T's part to do so.
Re: Upgrade - iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS
THANK GOD! The people who walk into the store saying "iphone" like the seagulls in Finding Nemo say "MINE!" are annoying.
Re: 411 increase
I use CHACHA(242242) for my searches. They are usually reliable and its free!
Re: What do you think......What would you do.....(Relates to us all)
It's been beat over our heads. Apple will never let us sell the iPhone. It's retarded I know and its Apple that doesn't realize we do a better job then Walmart ever will. I try and sell against it with the Bold as its the best PDA on the market. I also try and sell around it with FAN discounting since PDA plans all get discounted but the iPhone plan does not.
When all else fails I tell them ...
Re: Long time Verizon customer considering switching
sure you are...
Re: AT&T is great.
I wonder if the OP did finally switch...
Re: Long time Verizon customer considering switching
I think you and I work for the same dealer bwag17.
Cellguard is our in store insurance and it covers every AT&T phone including the iPhone.
Good but how soon?
This is good for those who travel a lot which I'm glad this is taking place. The only question is how long before those towers will be set up to AT&T's network? It's already taking them a long time to roll out 3g coverage.
Re: Interesting...
I've never used a Symbian Operating system. Is it anything like the N75 or is it better then that? I also hope this thing gets better battery life then the abysmal 6555.
Better then the VU?
From the looks of it Samsung is looking to beat out the VU with this one. I wonder which one gets better reception though?
Finally a rugged phone
Customers have been asking for this for a long time and the Motorola V365 just wasn't cutting it. Hopefully this holds up. It's a little pricey but I know the construction workers will buy it.
FINALLY
I've been hearing it from customers for the longest time that they want a phone that can withstand work conditions. The price is steep but I know people who want a rugged phone will buy it.
Re: Sunday Bloody Sunday
I've had that ALL week and yesterday was no exception. People think because they've been a customer for years entitles them to get anything they want for free. The general public are basically jerks pulling our legs. You don't walk into a video game store demanding to get a game for free because you've been a Gamestop customer for years, you don't walk into a Starbucks demanding a free coffee because you've been their customer for years but you ...
Re: be aware
It's not that indirect dealers WON'T let you do it, it's that they CAN'T! AT&T doesn't allow indirects to do a LOT of things. What gets me is how much business that indirects bring to the areas where COR stores are few and far between.
Re: 5 dollars to pay bill through CS?
I work at an indirect and we don't charge the customer to pay with a credit or debit card in the store, but we do charge $2 to pay with cash since TioExpress charges that not us. Customers are always like "You mean you CHARGE me to pay in Cash?!!" To which I reply "yep, they're pushing people to use debit cards."
Re: To our dear customers
The thing many don't realize is that taking the insurance is designed so that it hurts a lot less when your phone DOES break. People are rough with their phones. When working at a theme park I found NUMEROUS cell phones on the grass in the track area of the roller coaster I ran. I've seen people bring their phones into my store in multiple fragmented pieces. I've kept some of them and placed them on the desk so ...
Re: To our dear customers
Hey bwag, do you happen to work for Atlantic Wireless? I've been working for them now for a year and a half.
We have Cellguard which is so much better and easier then Asurion's coverage of AT&T phones.
People do need to realize that phones are expensive and that part of your monthly bill PAYS off your phone. Anytime after its paid off you're just making the carrier(any carrier) more money.
Re: 2 year contract.....
Or use it as a back up phone like I do. If you are going somewhere where you know you might break your Blackberry or the like then you take your cheap LG CU400 out instead.
Re: 2 year contract.....
While I don't agree with the practice of doing this, it makes perfect sense WHY they are doing it. The idea is that some people don't want any of the phone with AT&T's lineup and want to use their unlocked GSM phone but use AT&T's serivice. I don't agree with the idea that it's a 2 year contract though. That's why when people look to sign up for service with a used beat up phone I tell them it's ...
Re: ATT signal vs VZW?
Nokia truly gets the best reception when it comes to phones. The Nokia 6555 is a great choice for something that gives a pretty good camera, bluetooth, music player and great Nokia reception. I also think Sony Ericcsson tends to get good reception too. The n95 is a great choice for an unlocked phone but you have to have the software updated to connect to AT&T's media net which to my understanding is pretty simple. MY store is in ...
Re: A good price
I would never buy a high end phone at a place like Walmart. You have to remember that Walmart is like a GIANT Odd-Job(remember those?). They sell LOW quality product that falls apart VERY easily compared to if I buy a similar product at stores where they sell it almost exclusively. If I want lint-removers, shaving razors, deodorant, etc I don't mind going to Walmart because I can easily find it all in one place. But things like shirts, ...
Re: ATT signal vs VZW?
I live in Central NJ(Jackson) and my experience with AT&T has been the best. I work for an AT&T authorized retailer and when I started working here I didn't beleive that their coverage was that good. I had recently signed a contract with VZW at the time and got a phone that was suppossed to have mp3 player capability and full bluetooth support (LG VX8100). To my suprise the MP3 player is completely disabled and no online website could ...
Re: switching to att, any recommendations for phones
Agreed on that one. THe 6555 has been pretty popular lately. I personally really like the Sony 580.
Re: Brand New Service Survey - Guess Who Won Hands Down
Ya know, my post had nothing to do with the fact that I sell at&t. It has to do with personal experience with both providers. Both have their ups and downs and so far everything I've seen personally has me convinced that at&t is a better service provider. I don't doubt that there are lots of places that Verizon has a lot of coverage in but so far I've personally seen better from at&t in terms of call quality, ...
Re: Brand New Service Survey - AT&T Wins Hands Down
I mean that the phone was an mp3 player UNTIL Verizon updated their firmware so that the functionality of the phone is a lot less then it was before. It can no longer play music, but I was able to go into the maitenence mode of the phone so that it can play it ONLY if it's on the miniSD card not on the phone memory and I can only use ringtones that I BUY from Vcast.
My AT&T ...
Re: Brand New Service Survey - AT&T Wins Hands Down
I've seen better service in all my travels throughout the state of New Jersey, through the length of the Pennsylvania turnpike and thoughout Ohio, in NYC, and in Delaware that AT&T has been the best for me compared to Verizon from my own personal experience. I have an AT&T employee line and I'm still in contract with Verizon. The VZW phone I have was suppossed to be an mp3 player but its crippled to all hell. It is rated ...
Re: Buyout of Edge -How about today?
I'm glad AT&T is looking at expanding their coverage. It's really needed in those areas. Here in Jersey AT&T is really the best from my experience but the places that they need help here are places where the towns don't want towers built.
Re: Switching from VZ Questions
You can buy phones anytime you want, you just won't get the two year discount on them like you would when you sign a contract for it. You can port the first number over and add the other lines when you're ready to do so. Besides by the time the last contract expires they might come out with even better phones then the already impressive lineup. I know you want to make them Christmas presents but you can at ...
Re: YAWN........
AT&T may sell locked GSM phones but you can unlock them and use them anywhere. It's worth it to unlock it and use the phone with prepaid local SIMs in other countries. Plus AT&T has some pretty awesome phones(although I'm aware of the phones they sell there.)
Re: Roaming with AT&T
There is no roaming fees within in the US. This includes the Continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands(St Thomas, St John, and St Croix). Unlike most of Verizon's phones most of AT&t's phones are world capable phones that can be taken for the most part anywhere around the world. It's when you go to other countries that you incur roaming fees. Also if you go on a cruise and its not a US cruiseline ...
Re: HOW BAD ARE VERIZON WORKERS?
I understand that employees aren't trained on phones. I work at an AT&T agent and the only reason I know well enough about phones is because I play with some of them during downtime or when a customer is getting a phone I'm unfamiliar with. The thing is I do my OWN self-training with phones because I would rather ALL business be conducted at my store then having them call an 800 number. In fact most of the time ...
