No voice dialing allowed. You must caress each number individually for the best connection.

"What's the maximum memory size card can I use with the Sync?" 2Gb, no more. The SDHC cards will not work due to different formatting.

A dude on another Sync Forum (thesynchole.com) is making a 4shared(dotcom) site with about 4500 MP3 ringtones under 300Kb. Here is a partial list - he is still working on it. Enjoy! http://www.4shared.com/dir/4751236/44 c1f4a5/sharing.html

I beg your pardon but my Sync has had several custom MP3 ringtones and the properties agree. The format you are prolly trying to think of is MMF and its tonal quality sounds like an old tin can phone and is not even worth the trouble to convert. BTW, MMF is only used for incoming text message tones. MP3s won't work there; is that what you're thinking maybe?

Which phone feature is most important to you: a 2 Mp camera with video, an MP3 player with stereo BT and 2Gb SD card capacity, 3G speed with internet browsing, Java games, or just making a simple phone call? Pick your new phone based on the best specs of the features you care the most about. For a few bucks more, they might even let you upgrade. I have found the C-Net review pages ...

Sure its possible. Go to: My Stuff > Graphics > Options > Open > scroll to your first photo > Options > #4 Move > choose Selected or Multiple > the next screen asks: Move to: Phone or Memory Card. Select Memory card. The process also works to move pics from the card to the phone as well. Have fun!

SDHC will definitively NOT work in a Sync. They will work in a Blackjack with WM6 however. BTW, the 6 gigger just came out, but they will eventually be able to pack 32 Gb of space (!!!) in one of them things and I really wish it WOULD work in our phones!

No, you've just figgered out the limitations of the player software. It sucks, but thats exactly how it works. I started renaming my song titles with the initials of the band or artist and that helped me keep songs in the order they appeared on the CD. But on shuffle play, I'd just have to shuffle through the entire card.

Yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about - I do it all the time on mine. I can go back to the main screen while the song is playing, send and receive/read a text message, access the menu, the whole nine yards. And Samsung doesn't know this can be done? You need another CSR or ask for their supervisor or to be kicked up to a level 3 tech. Good luck.

This information has been posted here before, but here is the link to step by step instructions for modding the volumes. This mostly works for ringtone/speakerphone and earbud MP3 volumes. The one thing about this stuff is that when you power cycle, you reset all the levels to default, so 1: you can't screw it up and 2: you have to redo this every time. Good luck. http://www.thesynchole.com/viewtopic .php?t=413

Well, yeah; mine is on GPRS half the time and on Edge the other half because we don't have 3G in most of my state. I think you can just dial 611 and ask to be ping'd to the nearest, strongest signal (likely a 2.5 Edge). You may need to power cycle to effect the change - be sure and ask. Heres what all the G's equal: 1G- GSM data 2G- GPRS 2.5G- EDGE 3G- UMTS 3.25G- HSDPA Technically, the ...

Many people have made that request and the answer is to use a hammer. There is actually another way to remove the logo but you also lose the ability to connect to ATT. Thats not really a good option either. Face it, we're stuck with it. Maybe we could have a contest to come up with a new meaning for ATT. For instance "All Trash Talk" or "Any Time, Toots". How about Always Terminated Transmissions"? Your turn.....

The only way you can get rid of those numbers is to copy your address book to the SIM card and then only view your address book from the card. You do lose the ability to assign all of the extra features to each contact like pictures and personalized ringtones, but as you requested, that extra info will not be visible until you view a contact. I assigned pictures to several of my contacts before transferring to ...

Total number one complaint with Syncs, especially since the changeover to ATT (again). All the forums and complaint lines are burning with the topic. Nothing much you can do about it either - maybe call the service line and complain loudly. Maybe get a new SIM, maybe see if they can reset your phone to ping the strongest nearest tower. Welcome to America's largest club...dissatisfied ATT customers: 3,000,000 strong and growing.

Did you buy a gen-u-wine Samsung charger or an after market unit? I have heard of many problems with chargers that weren't Samsung. I use my USB cable to charge and have no problem playing MP3 bluetooth, talking or texting while charging (even in my car through my stereo player's USB port) You might (if you have a Samsung charger) return to your place of purchase with your complaint and maybe get an exchange???

I have played my MP3 for up to 12 straight hours through bluetooth and not drained the battery by half. I do recharge every day however. You should probably stop the MP3 player when you aren't using it and turn off the bluetooth connection (if you are using that to play the music) to conserve battery life. But having to recharge every three days doesn't seem excessive either as far as "normal" battery life. Just ...

Ah, then see the post below titled "How" and there is a step by step instruction to change ringtones. There is no way I know of to generate a sound effect for the act of opening the phone, but that would be cool if you could. A data cable transfer is painfully slow. I just transfer thru my SD card and a card reader. First, load the card with your sound or graphics files off your computer. Then insert the card into the phone (push it in too deep and it will spring back out till it is even with the phone body - some people use the micro adapter to do this). There have been many problems reported with ...

Picture from phone to computer via USB - are you using Samsung PC Studio v3.1.1 available from their website? There is an icon in the program "Transfer Files" that is for that purpose. A bluetooth dongle may be much better, I just got one and will try it tomorrow. >>>It had a G instead of an E. What was that for? Was it on the 3G network... There yuh go, thats exactly whats happening. E equals Edge, G equals 3G. Be observant and you'll see them switch frequently, like just after you've made an important connection. I hear you can call ATT/Cingular and they can "turn off" your phone's search for distant/weak 3G cells, leaving you (supposedly) with strong Edge towers. Haven't tried it but I don't ...

It is the phone switching from 3G to the 2G Edge networks. 3G is an imperfect system apparently still being refined. This is the number one complaint of Sync users - dropped calls regardless of what the adverts say ("Fewest dropped calls" in your dreams!!) Many hackers are trying to find a way to keep the phone on 2G. Worst news...theres nothing you can do about it, but if it is a major on-going problem for you, ...
