Agreed. Although I use an Iphone now, and had a touch screen before that and returned it....I always went back to my Curve when I was in between phones. It's about 4 years old and works perfect. RIM makes pretty reliable devices.

Re: Price Speculation
Apr 23, 2010, 1:20 AM
in the Verizon forum

Android is hot right now. As long as ppl want either phone, the price will stay the same for a while. For ex, the Storm 2 was $179 a few weeks ago...but now that everyone wants android phones, the Storm 2 is barely $100. And as long as there are customers such as your wife that really prefer a physical keyboard...they're gonna get the money while they can. JMO

ETA: If you are getting a "FEATURE PHONE" and block data, you won't be able to send picture or video messages. As those use data.

Whether you use it or not, if the phone requires it, you have to pay for it.

You can't. You just have to take the widgets off your homescreen and/or turn off data when not using it.

I haven't seen that option for the standard messaging application. Neither with the Handcent SMS app from the market but I never had any reason to look. Handcent SMS is the best. Try that.

What is the process for selling an iPhone?

I want to use an upgrade on my account for the iPhone 3GS. However, I want to sell the device (to a friend with ATT) and use that money towards the Nexus One. I'm hearing things such as I have to contact Apple because a contract was signed with them or something. /;| Can someone tell me how that works?

Re: How to save battery life on Android phones!! Must have app.

As described in the article......I don't need data running while I'm asleep or at work. I can't even use my phone at my job for security reasons. So I don't need my battery being drained. I'm not new to smartphones, I had a Blackberry before this. Again, if you don't think it would be of any help to you please move to the next thread. If you read the reviews of the Devour and Backflip...you would know what I'm referring to. good day.

omg...this isn't about the charger. As I said, the MotoBlur "SOFTWARE" is constantly being used...therefore....turning off data...stops the constant updates....which drains the battery......THROUGHOUT THE DAY. If this does not apply to you...please just leave so the ppl that have complained about this issue can make their own decision about it..

This is mainly for those with MOTOBLUR. I charge my phone at night as well...but it can't sit for 8 hours on the charger. And data is always running while not charging. My phone was 100% when I went to bed, woke up it was at 75%. Jst from data being used and the constant updates. (I have Moto Backflip with MotoBlur) I used this to turn data off when I don't need it, as described in the article. It may not be helpful ...

Free Android app APNdroid can selectively turn off your data access while allowing calls. I love it. I could care less about the Google removal. And it wasn't meant to be a high end Android phone. But my question, can I disable MotoBlur? It's murdering my battery. I'm fine accessing FB through the regular App. I was't sure how to do it though. Would I just deactivate the MotoBlur account online? TIA

Voicemail works great. Since data is blocked I'm not able to send pics, videos, or sync any email. I also couldn't use any APPS. But WiFi worked perfectly and I accessed email and things like Facebook on the web browser. All I did was Talk, text, and voicemail of course.

A few exaggerations ( esp on size and weight). One way to conserve the battery is to remove the Happending widget from the homescreen and just let it be part of the menu and you look thru it as when you want. Only thing I agree with is all the ATT programs everywhere. This is an excellent phone depending on what you are upgrading from I prefer customer reviews from those who have to use the devices everyday. I don't recall ATT ot ...

I've had a Blackberry Curve 8320 since Jan 2009 with a data block. Got if off Ebay. It's a Tmobile phone and I called to add data and spoke with 4 reps that said they were't even able to add it. why would they call in the Droid 2 when it's not an update? It's clearly a lesser model. Doesn't make sense. As a VZW sales consultant, these phones need to have different names. Everyone doesn't live & breathe phones like the ppl on this forum and it's annoying when you ask a customer what phone they have and they say "Motorola" "LG" or more recently "droid?" When manufacturers started giving models interesting names helped ppl identify their phones.
