Re: ARGHHH!!!!
Actually that is not true. We have TWO International devices (GT700 I9100)with both IMEIS registered on ATT which show up as Dumbphones on MediNet UL data plans.
Re: Non AT&T Android phones w/Data Unlimited?
Buy International devices. ATT does not have every IMEI of every phone in the world in their data base/ I use and International Note and the wife and International SGS II BOTH IMEIS were given to ATT. Both devices show up as clam shell phones. Both devices have UL MediaNet data bit are NOT REQUIRED to have ANY data,,
That is the best solution. Plus the International devices are not ful of carrier bloat and get updates a lot ...
Re: So what sorts of comments have customers been saying about the Galaxy Note?
MEh ......A Phone is not a "fashion statement" Its a tool. The larger screen is very handy. Samsung sold millions. The International Note II should be out in a few months.
Plenty big enough to replace a tablet. There are custom Tablet Roms available as well. making it equal to a tablet in everything but size.
Re: So what sorts of comments have customers been saying about the Galaxy Note?
Been using the GT-7000 one and I wont go back to a smaller screen. Looking forward to the Note II. No need for a Tablet. Not too big not too small. IPhone looks like a key FOB when I see one.
Re: at&t Android phones with unlimited data for $15
You can get that a couple ways.. Upgrade with ATT and get the best phone that is selling well on Ebay. Use that money towards an INTERNATIONAL device.
You can give ATT the IMEI of that device and it will not register on their network as a "smartphone" (they don;t have a data base of EVERY phone sold in the world) Put you SIM card in and get provisioned for the MediaNet plan or take it ...
Re: So long AT&T
IF you are in a good Sprint Signal area its a good move.
Re: Best Customer Service, no question!
Been with ATT since way before Cingular. No problems. Especially loving the MediNet plan on the Note GT-7000. Someday that will go away and i will carry two phones. A REAL small old Nokia dumb phone without data and a Note with WiFi.
We refuse to pay $720 a year for less than 1GB slow carrier date use between two devices, or have to worry about data use.
$360 is bad enough without a messaging plan on two phones
Re: Non AT&T Android phones w/Data Unlimited?
We have Been using International androids since the Vibrant, then the SGS II i9100, and now the GT-7000 Note
all on unlimited MediaNet. ATT has the actual IMEI numbers but they don;t have every phone made in their registration system so it shows up as unknown and they offer the MediaNet plan.
I refuse to pay $600+ a year for "carrier data" We use at most 800mb BETWEEN both phnones, We are on wifif 90% of the time. As ...
Re: I can't believe AT&T is going to leave a big size of their customer base out to pasture.
Just buy an International phone and get on mediaNET.....$15 a month UL data...My N7000 Note loves ATT!!!
Re: So long AT&T
I have been with ATT since long before Cingular. I stopped upgrading for subsidized phones with the 3GS. $299 each sold for $650 each. bought International phones ever since. $10 UL Data share 700 minutes no messaging (we use FB messaging and GoEX free chat. My Note N7000 and her SGS II i9100 cost us less than $100 a month. The savings more than pays for the devices.
Downside is 3MBS download speeds which is fast enough for ...
Re: $36 upgrade fee?
Next time you need a phone ..Pay retail then complain about the $36 fee
Re: AT&T is the worse carrier in the world
Yeah they are not the best But I have "suffered" with them Since well before Cingular. In fact I have never tried another carrier because I love the SIM card technology and that I can buy my own devices.
Verizon is like Apple.....CONTROL everything.. No thanks. Sprint is rough here. T Mobile is not very good here either.

I'm thinking of ditching Sprint for AT&T. Considering the Galaxy SII. Anyone know when or if AT&T will have LTE in Greenville, SC? Any feedback on the phone would also be appreciated....
DO IT.... But get your upgrade and sell it and use the money to buy an international SGS II i9100 and sign up for ATT's $10 dumb phone MediaNET plan for unlimited data. I gave them the actual IMEI of both mine and my wifes i9100 ...
Re: $36 upgrade fee?
You are getting sometimes a $700 device for $336 and complain?
I take those upgrade phones and sell them to pay for our International SGS II i9100s and put them on a the $10 MediaNet plan and save $480 per year on Data. No LTE here for years anyway. WE may just dump ATT and go to Straight talk for Unlimited everything at $45 a month. Same 3G speeds as MediaNet. ATT cannot register every IMEI of every device ...
Re: ICS Upgrade for Samsung G S II
Not really. I buy the International versions as they are usually released months before the US versions. Then I upgrade for a couple iPhones and sell them. The last ATT phone I had was a Nokia 6126...
Re: WHY WHY WHY?!?!?!
Nope just you...
Re: iphone 5?
Yeah..It will be an iPhone 4 with some more Android stuff.
Re: Co-founder of Apple an android fan
Makes sense to me...
Apple controls everything. No need to worry about how to do things. Once you learn what you can do that control becomes a limitation and Andoid opens ALL the doors to controlling everything about the way you choose to use your device down to what SW you want to use to actually run the thing.
They allow non market apps and complete access to all files at the boot level like a PC.
BT file transfer ...
Re: ICS Upgrade for Samsung G S II
Wait until April. the SGS III is on the Horizon with LTE and ICS
Re: WHY WHY WHY?!?!?!
Not surprised with Forums like Howard and XDA..
This forum turned into a fanboy battle forum ATT vs Verizon, Nokia vs Apple, on and on forum a long time ago

I think Moto will come out with some decent Camera phones in the future....Something called a RAZR..

P.S. - try to pay a little more attention to dates on the threads your replying to, this place is pretty dead.

Re: Galaxy S II is great
I routinely relay information to the wife when Im in shopping on the phone while on the internet reading bar codes in stores. I have also been on the while on the phone out of boredom....LOL
Re: Does Anyone Know Why AT&T Has Deactivated The FM Radio On The Galaxy S II
I bought the International SGS 2 i9100 version. Gave them the phone IMEI and got the unlimited MediaNet Plan for $10. Its not registered on the ATT network as a smart phone.
One of the reasons is the FM Radio and the unregistered IMEI as well. I have not used an ATT phone in 20 years. I bought the iPhones and sell them to buy International versions which as always better and although there is not LTE and UL speeds ...
Re: Galaxy S II is great
The International version is better....LOL
FM Radio and dumb phone data plan. UL for $10...`
XDa Developers is the place to go for custom ROMS and Kernels and really make the device yours without any ATT or Samsung bloat.
Re: Does Anyone Know Why AT&T Has Deactivated The FM Radio On The Galaxy S II
Because they want you to use DATA to get radio. That is why I bought the International version i900. Flashed a custom ROM and Kernel and have a dump phone unlimited data plan for $10 a month.
The I9000 has an FM Radio.
Re: Best Android?
Pick up an SGS 2 unlocked unbranded...
Use XDA developers for custom ROMS ....Doesn;t get any better
No sense in using an android based device if you are not going to take full advantage of it...
Re: Samsung FAILS
Just go to XDA and flash a custom ROM..Problems solved.
Re: ***Sprint 1Q 2010 financial results!!!!!!!!!!
I have no worries about Sprint..
Bought 1000 Shares @ $4.12 This is a company that will either get bought out or grow. It isn't going away.
BTW I am and have been and will continue to be an ATT Customer for well over 10 years who buy s unlocked Nokia Phones N95/N97 and soon the N8. But I have confidence in Sprint as a going concern.
Re: smartphone plans
HMmmm..so if ATT suddenly changes the contractual agreement, does that void the contract? I know this 3G is slow as hell where I am and not consistent. They just raised me from $10 each to $15 each last month on our Nokia N series phones... So if they doubled up on the data, I will pay the ETF and just go to T Mobile or the $50 unlimited Boost plan.
The Mobile Internet is not worth twice what I ...
Re: AT&T Mobility 2.7 Million Net Gain in Wireless Subscribers 4th Quarter 2009
But the churn number is waht intrigued me...Verizon churn going up....ATT churn going down...And they are equal now.....
The Mighty V is slipping.

And this is a surprise?
Re: My Predicition When Verizon Gets The iPhone
By the time Verizon gets the iphone it will be like the RAZR.....Old News and it will still look the same and other phone makers will have caught up in "user experience" as far as I am concerned the ONLY advantage Iphone has.....Feature wise its still 3 years old....and controlwise...well lets just say Iphone will be right at home with Verizon...

I think it will open up a lot with LTE. Verizon's done a lot lately to open up the network. Opening GPS, putting wifi on more devices, etc. They still have a long way to go, but at least they are moving in the right direction.
I think once you get to LTE, hopefully companies will start finding it profitable to make "unlocked" phones that work with the network.
Not like it would happen, but I'm waiting ...
Re: So who actually has one?
I waited until the first update and am happy.....There will be more updates.LOL
SW is never finished until the masses get it and use it. THEN the warts will show up. Testers cant possibly test every incarnation of the phone....

I really, really hope your right about this price war, cause I would really much rather CALL someone than txt. I hate txt'g with a passion. I think txt'g is informal, inpersonal, indirect, and immature.
WOW I agree with that. I text maybe 20 a month most received, I just make the call. I hate texting.

Counting minutes at all sucks! Rollover to me is such a gimmick. If you have so many minutes it means you were on the wrong plan for a long time. Regardless, unlimited is going to be the new standard much sooner than anyone thinks.
Well what plan should we be on? We share 550 daytime and have over 1800 in the RO account......
Not a gimmick for those who don't use a lot of prime time minutes ...
