You speculating that it WILL come to these carriers, which has not been confirmed. :? Its funny how At&t releases Iphone, Verizon releases Storm, and T-Mobile releases G1, you never saw these articles (on Phonescoop) from other carriers, though they existed. These are even titled, Verizon to sell Palm Pre, and At&t will sell Palm Pre. False hope, and misleading stories from Sprint haters. They MAY get it and they MAY not. You say in the story headline ...

You don't get 3mbps for any carrier besides sprint with WiMax. Thats it, end of story. Show me one testing with over 3mbps thats not with Line-of-Sight. Can't do it. So everyone on here needs to quit comparing lab/testing speeds and talk about the all important real world average speed and indoor speed. Im tired of these posts hearing 3mbps and 7mbps, sorry to hurt your feelings, but these are not real world speeds as of yet.

First fix 3g coverage issues.

Why work on speed when you can only get coverage in extremely few areas. Highly doubt... I know for a fact these aren't real world speeds.

Cool and Wimax had testing speeds of 70Mbps. Doesn't mean crap if it's not real world. FYI phonescoop. 70Mbps in testing, up to 10Mbps real world.

dave73 said: LTE can be launched in any spectrum. Sprint doesn't need any 700 band spectrum for it. The only reason Verizon is launching it in 700, is because that's the only spectrum they have for the entire country that's gonna be 100% available. They'll have to wait a while before CDMA usage goes down before using 800 & 1900 bands for LTE. blockquote> LTE can be launched in any spectrum. Not True. Sprint has been saying for years they will support either format. LTE was never out of the question. So good for them to follow up on Verison's announcement. :)

I think LTE is far off. Just because Verizon claims a release for a tiny market next year, doesn't mean it will roll off the whole network within another year. I don't see LTE coming until the end of 2011. WiMax is not a new technology and has been used around the world since its creation in 2004. LTE is a new technology and new technology always has its problems.

I do want to ask. Which carriers DO NOT cap their data at 5 gb? Sprint the last to adopt this, so you can't bash them for that anyway.

I'm curious about the speed xfer to a device? Will it be for slow speeds like walking on foot like the original IEEE standard for WiMax 802.12 b and c where it recommended traveling speeds of under 20mph, or will it be like the 802.20 and the 802.12e and accept a continuous data xfer and seamless tower trade-offs at 180mph? Funny how they always leave this out when discussing LTE tests. They also have failed to discuss how WiMax ...

I know this. Sprint change thiers I think back in May. I was meant that they once had unlimited when Verizon was capped and that Sprint still has the best deal. Speed vs price.

WHAT????? Verizon caps thier Unlimited plan at 5gb. Buddy, your not going to get a deal like this with any other carrier. I don't use 5gb of data in months of use and I'm an MIS major and do online databases with my courses. Sprint does have an unlimited plan thats still cheaper then the competition.

Sprint owned most of Verizon's towers but recently sold to Tower Co. What crack are you smoking? Sprints network actually has more coverage than any other cell phone company Geographically speaking. Consumers who disliked Sprint because of their bad service years ago still rate Sprint bad. Remember it's the "Most dependable network in the country"

The iden network allows off network ptt. while Verizon's crappy network does not. Oh and it's a crappy ptt service in the first place. So I agree Sprint has the best network for this service. Besides it's a network that would otherwise be wasted in a couple years, might as well go for the good. Just had to educate the Verizon and At&t fan boys.

WiBro is old new and isn't the same Wimax that will be instituted within the US. Please give some new about Wimax in the US market like new devices. It fails to mention that its the maximum speed the handset will allow. Its not real world. The stated speed of the original HSDPA which was first 7.2 Mbps then 14.4 Mbps really only saw a peak of 1.2 Mbps in real world. They don't even offer HSPA+ or HSPA evolved anywhere. Its a long way away and requires MIMO technology implemented within the currently deployed towers.

To me this looks awfully similar to the LG Muziq and Fusic which both had a unique feature with the FM transmitter. Seems like Samsung isn't the only brand Sony is copying.
