Motorola's products for VZW have been better than the competition in terms of fit and finish for the last three years or so. Contrast with LG, for example, which insist on chroming everything... and the chrome always peels off. Their plastics/paint also seem to scratch much more easily than Moto's stuff.

What he means is that when you use Opera Turbo, you're accessing the web through Opera's servers which compress the web page and optimize it for the handset.

And then there's this - the 9500 flavor of the Storm, which has NOTHING TO DO WITH VERIZON, also has NO WI-FI. Don't go blaming the Big Red for this one. Given this phone's 3g coverage, WI-FI would only really be useful for filesharing over a LAN, in which case Bluetooth should do you just fine anyway.

...Please update the Ming for 2008, and bring it to CDMA. We've seen that you are capable of making a sexy yet functional smartphone (and it ain't the Q). If priced correctly, it could be a hot seller. Also, as a dealer, I'd like you to know that the reason we don't sell many of your products is the ridiculous cost. The Razr MAXX - $370? Are you kidding me? The RAZR2 - $450!? The RIZR - $300! It costs too ...

Premium text messages work like 900-numbers - you get sent one, and the sender can bill you whatever they want through the phone company, in the same way that a 'psychic hotline' charges you 3 bucks a minute for a phone call. I've seen premium SMS that cost four dollars a damn text message! Now, legally, you're supposed to subscribe to these messages before you get sent them (they can't just send you a message and bill you for it, ...

The problem

Biggest problem with the Treo line as far as my stores are concerned is the exhorbant price. Full retail on the Treos runs about $600, while other comparable PDAs/smartphones average $100-200 cheaper, and have the same featureset. Our Blackberry sales have soared, and now make up at least 2/3 of our PDA sales.

Summary should be edited...

The summary unfairly makes it seem like Verizon is the only U.S. carrier that does this; the full article names several carriers but goes on to say that Verizon is the only carrier that offered an explanation for its practice.

The price is comparable to Verizon's lowered Blackberry rates, but you get unlimited data with the BB. iPhone with data & 450 minutes - 59.99. Add 24.95 for 20mb international data = 84.94 VZW Blackberry with data & 450 minutes, plus additional $20 for overseas roaming w/ unlimited data: 89.98. So VZW's price is only five bucks more, and you get unlimited data instead of being capped at 20mb.

Yes, but the lens don't determine the megapixel rating. That's all in the gizmo that's under the lens.

Doubtful. The megapixel rating is determined by the CCD. This is a new procedure for manufacturing lenses.
