To *me*, this is a smartphone - because it has support for applications, email, web, etc. Hardcore phone people too often only classify a phone as a "smartphone" if it's running either IOS (iphone), Android, or Windows Mobile. The vendors often refer to a phone like this as a "feature phone" instead of a "smartphone". It all depends on your view. If you like it, it does what you want and can run multiple applications, yeah-- smartphone in my book.

Been waiting for a phone like this for a very long time. I've tried android, it's OK, but in the end, I seriously distrust google, and really don't care for all the data they're collecting from me as an android user. For me, this nokia has it all--- really solid form factor, great camera, and just enough apps for the 'casual' user-- letting me check email if I need, etc. T-mobile even ...

OK, but what about the PHONE? Battery??

Tmobile? Well, if they behave like they have in the past, they won't have THIS phone until about 2009.

I'm not impressed either. While far too many people are sold on phone LOOKS alone, I am fussy enough to actually want function and flexibility in the phone I use. The fact that they did NOT include a microsd slot in the V8 is well, a deal killer for me. A phone with any kind of multimedia capability (mp3, video, whatever) needs to have removeable storage to be useful and flexible. Internal memory only? That's *so* "razr". (Oh ...
