Is in-store activation required with the 3GS? I know it was with the 3G, but I am unsure with the 3GS. Thanks.

What if I purchase a new SIM card and reactivate the iPhone on my line?

Upgrade Question...Yes, it is iPhone related

I have two lines on my account. The primary line (my line) isn't eligible for upgrade until Jan. 2010. The other line is eligible August of this year. My question is: Could I upgrade to an iPhone on the second line and use it on the primary line? I do this all the time with other phones as the secondary line is my grandmothers and she doesn't care what phone she has. However, I remember that with the original iPhone, you could ...

There are several options: 1) Contact the carrier it is locked to and get the unlock code 2) Download unlocking software. Google Sony Ericsson SIM unlock 3) Third party unlocking companies. Google it.

When I worked in customer care, we used to get customers like these. Usually, they had called in several times before getting to me. They had either been given wrong info time and time again or their very easy problem seemed to be getting worked on for ages. After I just did my job, they'd ask to speak to a supvisor and commend me on my work. My personal record was 5 in a month. We called them "WOWs." ...

I use Phonezoo and I love it! You can make your own ringtones and graphics using files from your computer and you can download ringtones and graphics made by other users. Also, Motorola phone tools is a great program for doing this.

List of current PTT handsets: Motorola V365 Blackberry Curve Nokia 6555 LG CU515 Palm Centro Blackberry Pearl Blackberry 8820 AT&T Tilt Eight total. If you do not want a smartphone/ PDA, there are only 3 to choose from. What a selection! Now, if the iPhone had PTT, more people might want it. They could market it as a cool feature of the iPhone.

I change my opinion. PTT is convenient...for a small portion of AT&T's subscribers. I still stand by my belief that AT&T needs to either: 1) Drop PTT all together 2) Only make it available for businesses 3) Put some actual promotion behind it. As I said before, there are only a handful of PTT phones available and I have yet to see an AT&T commercial for PTT. They have commercials about Rollover, "Fewest Dropped Calls," largest voice and data network, combined billing, ...

The online Apple store has refurbed iPhones every now and again. Today, they have the 8GB version refurbished for sale. Guess the price? Original Price: $599 Your Price: $349 And you know that some moron will do it. Just pay the extra $50 bucks and get it new. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE /WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=44BD9 AA3&nclm=Certified%20iPhone *Note - As I said above, Apple does this from time to time. Thus, when you go to the link above, it may not have any refurbished iPhones. However, as of this post, they do.

Maybe they are being smart and calling customer care instead. Or maybe you are just extremely lucky. Like I said, it happens over time, but heavy texters see it happen sooner. With Cellular One, I had one person come back with this issue. That is one out of 22. I checked my records. With AT&T, I have had nine out of ten return in regards to this issue. And if you call warranty, only one out of four reps ...

Exactly. PTT from AT&T is arguably the stupidest idea yet. They need to focus on expanding coverage (expecially 3G) and NOT on PTT.

By now, I'm sure most of you are aware of the keypad issue on the W580i. For those of you who are not, let me explain. The keys crack. Short and simple, huh? It happens a lot quicker to people who text a lot. I just had a girl come in with one. She has had it for about 2 weeks and all the keys are cracked. WTF?!? Five. You can get five lines on either plan. With the Unlimited, it is $99.99 per line and with the 4000 minutes, it is $9.99. I see your point though.

ralph_on_me said: I think AT&T is trying to say, "Many people are too stupid to realize that the 2000 minute plan costs the same as the Unlimited plan, and there is absolutely no need to choose a higher individual plan than $99.99." There is a problem with this logic. AT&T does still have the Family Talk 4000 plan listed. It is the same price as the Unlimited Family Talk.

Beside our kiosk, there is a Redbox. It is an automated movie rental machine. It's pretty cool. You rent movies for $1 a day and you can return it to any Redbox. There are about 6 in our area. I think that price tags should also say that the phone must be paid for at the point of sale. Almost every customer who upgrades or starts new service asks if we can bill the phone to them. Although, you are right. Wireless customers do NOT read. We have a sign posted at our payment computer. It says that we only take cash and check payments for Cellular One and only cash for AT&T. That doesn't stop 75% of the customers ...

With Cellular One's warranty program, we send out a loaner phone. Then, you send you phone in and it is either repaired or we send a replacement. It is a horrible program. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for repair and customer hate the loaner phones in most cases. It is usually either a Motorola C139 or a Nokia 6010. Both are good basic phones. Neither has a camera or a media player and the C139 has no internet access ...

I was on the AT&T website looking at the rate plans when I noticed something odd. Under individual plans, they only have the 450, 900, 1350 and Unlimited. And under the family plans, they do not have the 6000 minute plan anymore. It makes sense because the individual plans above 1350 are more than $99 and the 6000 family plan is more than $199, but does this mean that the other plans are gone? Or is AT&T just trying ...

I have the same problem. It is a stupid feature that no one wants. AT&T launched it FAR too late and there is no way to compete with Sprint/Nextel. That is the one market they have cornered (besides bankruptsy). Everytime someone asks about it, I end up talking them out of it unintentionally. Here's an example: C - Tell me about this phone. Huh? You can add insurance within the first 30 days of a new activation or upgrade. You can use it anytime from there on out, but only twice in a year. I think I understand what you are saying. I've noticed that a lot of customers decline insurance because they feel they will never use it. I have had so many customers stand in front of me and do the math. C - Well, it's $5 a month plus a $50 deductable. Hmm. If I have it a year and use it once, it would be $110. If I have it two years and use it once, it would be $170. In late November, Cell One stores were advised that early models had an issue with the keys cracking. However, I have not seen or heard of any fix. It is just a flaw in the design. It is covered under the warranty though.
