Funny....but i think the battery life is pretty good. I am a "charge fanatic" and generally have my phone plugged in all the time when in the car...and its always in the charger at home...but this phone...thus far...has done pretty well without being constantly plugged in. I think it depends alot on where you live and tower spacing. Im in NYC and there are alot of towers so the phone uses less energy. The way CDMA works...in more sparsely ...

I was waiting for the S since i wanted bluetooth...but then after reading that it will have a smaller, lower resolution screen, no exdo and a worse camera I decided to get the V (free with my NE2) before they were all gone. I have the V. Believe me i would never personally test any of the claims on my own phone. I'm just happy knowing if i accidentally drop it or get it wet that it will...in all probablity...still work. That much more than you can say for a razr.

For those of us who believe form should follow function....it is beautiful (though i like the feaure set on the V way better.) Being in touch is hugely important to me...and its so nice not to have to worry about accidently dropping your phone...or that the slightest bit of moisture on a humid day or at the beach or pool is going to turn your phone into a paperweight.

After all the reading I did...just before he got his...I RAN to my local verizon store to make sure i got a type V for me and my girlfriend before the V was no longer available. I am not one of those people that has a qualified NEED to have a mil spec phone. However, even though I am pretty careful with my stuff, I have occasionally dropped my phone and cringed at the thought that I might be broken.
