True, UMA is much less expensive, but it is being marketed more as a home phone replacement. The unlimited plan is being marketed to people that are on the go more. Some people want to make unlimited calls anywhere they go, not just when they are around a WIFI signal, and for them, $99.99 for the first line and $49.99 for each additional line is a very good deal.

Why would you expect that? Everyone else is still charging $99.99 per line, and Sprint is the only one that offers unlimited data included for that price. Even if you have 2 smartphones on T-Mobile it is still going to come out to $10 less per month than Sprint, and if you have 3 lines, it will be $40 cheaper per month.

What do you guys think? With Verizon and ATT going with unlimited calling plans, I would be very suprised if T-Mobile didn't follow suit. We don't have to deal with Alltel in our market much, but it would also shut down their my circle myFaves knock-off too.

Definitely pay what you owe, because cell companies don't report to credit bureaus for good payment history, but they will certainly report for bad. After paying, you may qualify for a postpaid or Flexpay annual contract. Ask the representative if they can tell you ahead of time. They may not be able to, but it won't hurt to ask. As far as Flexpay goes, I don't think that it has the same policy as SmartAccess had, where ...

I hope not. I don't like jumping to conclusions, but I also think that putting nothing but positive spin on things leaves too much room for interpretation. I am a really positive person, but I am also a realist. I just never like it when corporations don't trust their employees enough to give details. Do you work for T-Mobile or Vision Wireless?

That's what I'm unclear on... They didn't really fire the reps, did they? They just basically came in and said that the reps work for another company but still sell T-Mobile. That isn't good either, but they all still have jobs. What bothers me, is that I really think that the benefits T-Mobile offers are very good. I would be absolutely livid if I were told that I worked for an indirect that would, by default, ...

Do you live in California? If not, there are quite possibly completely different rules regulating phone exhanges. I work at a T-Mobile corporate store in the Midwest, and I believe we can only get the customer a alternate handset if the phone has been exhanged 3 times in the last 90 days, or something to that affect. Maybe someone else can answer that question better than I, but thought it could help.

I got an email about this today. I am very pro-T-Mobile, and I just couldn't believe what I was reading. Our regional director sent out the email and it just spoke in circles about the situation. Why the need to put a "positive" spin on everything? If someone hands me a turd with a bow on it, it's still a turd! I also don't understand how this coincides with T-Mobile's pledge to open all of these new ...

I didn't like the elitist attitude of the other 3 main cell companies. They were very much "you need us more than we need you", and that was 2 1/2 years ago, it's just gotten worse since then! Price and customer service were the other two main reasons. BTW, coverage in my area back then was pretty lacking, but it has gotten a TON better since then.

I understand if it is capable of 4gb of storage, which should help with speed. However, when you are HTC, and you specialize in pda/smartphones and do a darn good job at it, you can't let a flip (razr2) beat you in processor speed! The razr2 has a 500 meg processor! No, I don't agree, at least at the T-Mobile forum. I would lump our posts into four categories: 1. "I'm thinking of switching from ______, does T-Mobile have good coverage?" Then there are three replies that either point them to the personal coverage check on the website or ask where the original poster is from. 2. Posts about new phones or services that T-Mobile has. I am guilty of this kind of post. Everyone wants ...

Is the Shadow supposed to have UMA capability?
Oct 16, 2007, 9:12 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

When is it rumored to be released? Is the Shadow a renamed Touch? The next phone I get needs to be UMA capable, but I need a smartphone/pda. I am heavily considering a Curve, but I really like that the WM6 devices will automatically read text messages into my bluetooth. So much so, that I am actually using it as a deciding factor. If anyone has any info on upcoming UMA capable smartphones/pda I would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone know if you can buy an application for a Blackberry that reads text messages into a bluetooth headset? I have a Dash and downloaded WM 6.0, and love that service, but I live in a rural area and need a UMA capable phone to get service. Hopefully I can download a program so that the Blackberry Curve can do the same thing. Help, anyone?

When your bill is CONSISTENTLY $50 or more too high for no reason and it is up to you to spend your time to get it fixed, then you can say that T-Mobile's billing sucks. Until then what you have experienced is a very minor hiccup that many customers of every wireless company experience. Simple human error, that was corrected by the way, does not constitute bad billing. From the sound of things, this is your ...

What are the main differences between the LX and the SK3? Wifi, screen, Is this the next generation SK or is it just a slight upgrade to tide us over until the SK4 comes out? check the personal coverage check on T-Mobile.com, but I think that coverage in Boston is good. You will get to use unsecured WIFI networks for free, but you will have to pay for T-Mobile Hotspots. The customer service is a great component to T-Mobile. It is the main reason that customers stay with T-Mobile once they switch. Can't remember how fast EDGE is...

I have been hearing rumors of a Sidekick 4 and have even seen a picture of what it might look like, I think it was on BGR, but thought that it was a long way off. Today, in the corporate store where I work, we got literature about a Sidekick LX that is going to be launched on Oct. 24th. I work in a college town, so I have run into your situation quite a bit. You can do flexpay, but you will have to buy your phone at full price, unless you already have an unlocked GSM phone, and you will not be able to do anything on your plan that you don't pay for ahead of time. I understand what you are saying, and I probably did mention some things that ATT offers as well. I have, however, heard more than a few stories, at least in my area, that suggest that T-Mobile cares more for their employees as far as from a benefits standpoint. ...and never take for granted working for a company that really cares about their customers, which is something that ATT is definitely lacking.

Hmmm... You may be right, but I got that information from our T-Mobile engineer that stops by regularly. He said that a call can be bounced from a GSM tower to Wifi, mostly in cases where the GSM signal is strong, and that can cause a call to be dropped. I certainly don't doubt that the T-Mobile routers work better, though.

you are correct, the previous poster is absolutely wrong. You don't need to purchase a monthly plan to get better signal through Wifi.
