Ok, so he goes to the home of the CEO of a landline phone company to complain about cell phone records....what a genius. Will he also go to Randall Stephenson's home regarding AT&T cell phone records? And to Beach: you're still here? I'd have thought AT&T would've made you at least a junior VP by now. With all the work you do for them, I think you've been cheated.

Just an opinion, but any policy that states to not proactively offer Prem SMS block seems like an impediment to the almighty "FCR".

Depending on if you stop pushing buttons for a time, it could be the backlight. I think the phone is set at default to dim after 7 seconds of inactivity.

Doubt that there would be a recall, but one can hope. In reference to recall or not, remember the chocolate 8500?

Some games, such as Guitar Hero, use megabytes (on nationwide plans) or minutes (on older plans). Easy way to check is to search the game on www.verizonwireless.com. Of course, there's always the vpak.

"Customer will become irate if you let him know when he's over on minutes" Unfortunately, I thought it was a typo (if you DON'T let him know when he's over on minutes.) It wasn't a typo.

Though it's not directly geared to VZW employees, you might try the forum: Shop Talk.

"had a customer lie to your boss about something you did and then you got in trouble for it?" About the lie part....all the time. That or their a complete jerk to me and nice as can be to the supervisor. As far as getting in trouble, never. It sounds like your boss hasn't taken the time to observe and learn what his people really would or wouldn't do.

Corporate stores can issue credits with the possible exception of using the get it now billing system. Unfortunately some just don't want to deal with billing issues, though the same can be said about some C.S. reps.

The only difference is how data is billed: America's choice: Minutes used for Get It Now, Vcast, Mobile Web (and a $5.00 monthly or $1.00 daily access charge), and pix/flix messaging. Nationwide: $1.99/MB (it rounds up) for Get It Now & Mobile Web (no access charge for mobile web). Pix/flix and Vcast (except for the player download) do not use billable data. However, if you already have the Vpak, it has unlimited MB.

You can change at any time. However, if you change to a lower plan during the billing cycle, make sure the prorations won't cause any problems.

Actually, the discount will only apply to the primary line access cost of $110.00 Everything else is correct for when you go to place the order. As much as we all hate the cost, you may want to consider insurance on the Blackberry and the Env2 (both are rather expensive to replace without it).

Unfortunately, I haven't seen a discount pack option. To get the ringtone from the site do the following: use search to find your ringtone, choose purchase, accept the terms. The tone will be sent to your phone via mms picture message (shouldn't have any mb charges). When you open the msg click options, save the msg as ringtone and give a name. Then the ringtone will appear in your ringtone list. I just did ...

If you get an unlocked quad band phone, it MAY be possible to activate it. The phone must have an esn or meid to activate and even then the phone may have minimal (only domestic calls) or no functionality. Customer service wouldn't be able to tell you for sure if it can be activated until you have the phone and activation is attempted. Try to make sure you can return the phone you get, just in ...

As mentioned before, the phone may be damaged or reported lost/stolen, so make sure you can return it. The only other major issue is that you will not be able to get it insured by Asurian (the insurance that VZW uses) because you didn't get the phone new from VZW or an indirect dealer.

If you mean the actual "digital" format (as available for the inner clock) rather than normal format or analog, it's not available for the outer clock. I've never seen the clock change format when on a charger except if there is a problem with the phone, ie. software issues. Sorry the information wasn't really helpful.

I've run into the issue three times, though I don't think it's a "known" issue. Try these fixes: 1) *228, option 1, pull the battery while the phone is resetting (this will reset the lock code to default, last 4 of you number). 2) If that doesn't work, get the software updated (most direct VZW stores can do it) and have the store tech check for any other possible causes. While those two fixes usually work, ...

The story leads me to believe that neither of the first two reps considered the possibility of user error (which is part of basic troubleshooting). On the other hand, it would be nice if everyone tended to read the user manual(be it phone or anything else).

I know what you mean. I had an infuriated caller that lived in CA but was vacationing in HI and couldn't make/receive any calls. After several talks with (tier 2) tech support, I got the callback. Issue was resolved by a basic step of changing the system select from "home only" to "automatic"

I would add rollover minutes, that's the most frequent suggestion I get (in customer service). Since the term "rollover minutes" is probably copyrighted, I am not sure what it'd be called though.

If you're under 18, you can't get a separate account in your name via AOL or otherwise. If you're wanting to get a single plan, keep your number, upgrade, and get a separate bill, then you may want the account holder to see about putting your line on a second account level (can be done via customer service or maybe a store). That way you have the above, but the account is not in your name. ...

That's a strange thing to happen, sorry to hear that it is :( Haven't heard of any known issues or software updates when I last checked (2 days ago). Have you tried a programming update (*228, option 1) and basic reboot yet? If those don't work, try calling in for troubleshooting and tech support. You'll need to call from a landline to 800-922-0204. Hope it's a simple fix.
