- My wife and I are definitely not cell phone junkies. We got our first phone through Verizon Wireless in 2002 since my wife was driving 80 miles roundtrip daily to get her Masters degree, and we wanted the peace of mind, especially during winter driving season. That phone was a Nokia 5185i, and we loved it. No frills, but it worked well with great reception and sound quality.
Just this last week (May 2006) we upgraded and retired the old Nokia in favor of an LG-VX4650. After reading a lot of reviews it looked like a good choice for quality of reception. We don't want or need a camera, mp3 player, etc. etc. Only had it a few days, but so far, I love this phone. Lots of nice features and I think I'll grow to love the voice dialing capabilities. The speakerphone is clear and powerful too!
