Account Cancel / Delete

I'd like to close my user account.

We can't cancel or delete accounts.

It is for your own protection - if we actually deleted your account, someone else could potentially register with the same exact username and impersonate you.

Also, any forum messages or user reviews you have posted need to be linked to an account. It would break the database to have messages posted by "nobody".

Since your account must continue to exist, the only thing we could do is ban you from logging in, but that wouldn't really accomplish anything. It is certainly in your best interest to remain in control of your own account.

If your concern is receiving unwanted e-mail, here are steps to prevent that:

1. Go to the site and log in.

2. Click "Your Account" on the left.

3. Set both Email Yes/No options to "No" and save your new settings.

4. Go to Your Account again, and go to the "Subscriptions" tab.

5. Click the link at the top to Unsubscribe from "Everything" and confirm your choice.

That's it! If you never log in again, you will not receive any unwanted email from us.
