I have dropped it in mud, water, dirt, gravel it has slid across the parking lot where i work when i dropped it and slid like 3 parking spaces away, dropped it face down on a concrete floor and it did not bounce or break apart or anything. Dropped this phone several times works likes a champ even with the major scratches. I love the fact that you can operate the MP3 when the phone is closed and when your listening to the MP3 with headphones (which you can answer a call and talk on it clearly), your song pauses when you get a call and when you end the call the phone returns back to where you left off. Great battery life. Love the fact that you can watch CV and get the weather on your phone instantly when you click on the internet. Fast bluetooth downloadable ring-tones. Compact size without the case, I can put this phone in my wristlet with lipstick, DL and money and it is zipped. <br /><br />Cons: Some people don't care for the location of the SD card but it isn't like your taking it out everyday. I don't care for the fact that you can't shut the phone and still talk on it (speakerphone). Other than that, no major complaints. Wish the internal memory held more. It is frustrating after trying to get a Kingston MicroSD 2GB to work for a number of hours. Just wouldn't cut it.<br /><br />Save your money on buying CD software to load songs etc. Just plug the Micro SD into your PC using Windows XP and you can access the files on the card. Just copy and delete the files you don't want. You know that annoying confirmation sound it makes when you send texts, program the calender, etc? It can be removed!<br /><br />I downloaded a great tool called BitPim, which enables you view and modify the files on your cellphone, provided that you have a USB connector for it. I was a little hesitant to get an LG, never really had any experiance with them and the selection at Cingular wasn't that good. I must say I have been nothing but pleased with this phone. Great mp3 player, did a great job with Cingular Media Web (great for fantasy football updates). I was never a big fan of the ascending ringtones but hey, no phone is perfect. I just love the stereo speakers. This has been the best phone that I have ever owned and I have owned alot since I used to work in the industry. Sadly my trusty and reliable CU500 has started to show the wear &amp; tear associated with my line of work. I've enjoyed this phone so much that every other clamshell phone that I've looked in the AT&amp;T lineup has not impressed me at all with the exception of the 575 TRAX. I've just purchase the TRAX and can only hope that it lives up to the CU500. The Sony they gave me sucked! When I got the LG, I thought I was going up in the world. I am somewhat disappointed.<br />CONS: Although some see it as a pro, the progressive ring SUCKS!. I want to be able to turn it off. When the phone rings, I want to hear it ring-now, not 12 seconds later. Especially if I am not carrying it, because that means I have to run like hell to get to it before VM picks up.<br />Although I was told it would accept a 2GB SD chip, it won't. In fact, plug in 2GB, it sees nothing. I like LOTS of music and photos.<br />The confirmation tones for almost everything you do. Let me shut them off, like I can shut off key-clicks.<br />I have trouble adding a number to an existing account and defining which number it is (big problem if I have one number in defined as Number, want to change that to Home Number and make existing number Work Number. Almost impossible without deleting the entry and re-adding it.<br />PROS: Nice Mp3 play. I've started using it on flights instead of my CD/MP3 plater.
