Steven2420 submitted this review of the HTC JAMin / S200 (Prophet):

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

For those of my friends reading this, they will say-- switched again". For others, it is just another review.

The Qtek S200 is an unbelievable device. I have never used a phone quite like this, and I am very impressed. Let's start with the obvious-The Pros!!!

PROS:

Beautiful form factor
Solid Construction
Color is awesome-Jet Black Gun Metal
Buttons are perfectly placed and are much more multifunctional then any other PPC I have used
MMC-SD slot is on top so you never touch it by accident
USB Charger and sync on bottom-not on top like Nokia 6131-Ughhhhhh
WiFi is perfect and very fast-sets itself up and connects to router in an instant
EDGE is super fast as well
RF is great so far, I have not left my house yet
Earpiece volume is ok, sound quality is crystal clear
screen is very sensitive, and very multifunctional-NO KEYS****REPEAT**There are no keys, it has a really cool color coded Virtual Keypad. Blue for T9, other colors for other functions. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to the multitap on the Virtual Keypad
Bluetooth is a snap and sound is incredible
Stereo Headphones are not cheap at all-wire reinforced and volume slide control on loop-sound is full stereo and reallly excellent
Camera is awesome-2MP-great shots which I will add later on
Easily downloaded all my programs on to a 512MB SanDisk-SD. The beauty of Windows Mobile 5

CONS:

I have to mention the keys again, at some point everyone will want to press a key, but they are really NOT needed
No FM Radio, Nokia spoiled me

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

User Review: Jamin first look

uqpniels submitted this review of the HTC JAMin / S200 (Prophet):

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

I've had an i-mate jamin for 3 days. It does all that it promises although a bit slowly and compared to my ipaq 4150 it is generally slow but then it does a lot more. You've got to keep in mind that this is a PDA with a mobile phone running in the background.

**Good Camera**
The best feature of the jamin is the camera. It is a bit slow getting started but it is a good 2M pixel camera and a viable substitute for a basic point and shoot camera.

**TI OMAP 850 Processor**
The OMAP 850 processor is supposed to be a power saver but I am yet to be convinced. It's dual core technology is suppossed to be more efficient but I am yet to be convinced.

**Average Battery Life**
The guys at: http://www.mphone.co.uk/pda/i-mate-jamin.html quoted 345 hours of standby and 5:50 hours talk. The time figures might be possible if you just use it as a mobile phone. I haven't had it long enough to test.

Like any PDA if you use it heavily with the 811.x wireless turned on you can't expect more than 6-7 hour's of battery. This is especially the case when using a wireless tool like Skype.

**Killer Applications**
If you do run the preinstalled Skype. During a call don't bother trying to do anything else not even text chat....talk only and then hang up. I found Skype kills everything else or they just run too slow to bother. Attempting Skype chat or any other Skype tools during a call was totally hopeless and required a hangup and redial.

Overall it seems like an okay device. Doing somethings will lock it up (happens to the best) and it ain't' a Ferrari. I'd like to have an O2 Atom to compare it with. I think a score of 7/10 is fair.

I found a complete review on:
http://pocketpcdubai.com/i-mate_PPC/jamin/reviewp1.html

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
