dakuma submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Three very small things that I dislike about this phone:

1) The inability to turn off the stupid "record" button on the left side - fire the engineer responsible for that oversight!
2) When a text message is received there is no "Message from: Craig" info, just tells you there is a message.
3) Phone menu performance is sluggish at times - very annoying!

Everything else about the phone is superb. Email support is perfect! Great screen size and resolution. GPS option, MP3 support, no useless camera, and the keyboard is a joy to use. I was planning on picking up a Blackberry curve (when the price drops) but I may just hand onto this baby for a while.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

sprintst submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

I really loved this phone. Simple and intuitive interface, great sound. I enjoyed the E62 for 14
months. It died suddenly. One morning the phone did not power up. I took it back to the store. The rep said a few negative things about the Symbian(?) operating system. Since it was out of warranty, the only choice I had was to purchase another phone, a Blackberry this time. I had been happy with Nokia until now, having used nothing but Nokia for the last 9 years.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Boy oh boy was I wrong. The phone sucked in every aspect. The only thing it is good for is using it as a hammer or batting practice. The menus suck, the keypad sucks, thw screen sucks, the whole thing sucks sucks sucks sucks. I wouldnt call 911 on this phone if I was bleeding out of my eye sockets. I would rather wrap it in duck tape and throw it into the bottom of the ocean, followed by a stick of dynamite to make sure I KILLED IT.

Yes, I am being harsh

PROS: NONE
CONS: DO YOU HAVE ALL YEAR

SUCKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

char777 submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

This is a great phone! I used it off and on throughout the summer with my T-Mobile SIM, although I'm now giving it to my sister on at&t.

PROs:
>nice keyboard. Some people don't like the shape of the keys, but i think it's nice. I also prefer the joystick over a standard d-pad.
>solid, sturdy design. The back of it feels like it could survive a drop from the Taipei 101.
>S60. One of the easiest mobile operating systems out there.
>WIFI! Such a plus! I'd get this phone for that reason alone!
>Web browser isn't too shabby, either.
>call quality, though I did not call on it much, was good.

CONs:
>odd shape, but not too bad.
>I wish it had a camera, but now there's the E61i.

I would recommend this phone for a mobile web surfer or a text addict. It's thin, it has a good keyboard, wifi, and a simple UI. There isn't much more that crowd could ask for in a phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The Treo 750 is close, but the screen and internet browsing on this phone are phenomenal. Could be smaller, but hey this is a business device....You want the room to do all of those important mobile projects.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

mohammadiqbal submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

The Nokia E62 is a great phone for people who need e-mail on the go. It definately isn't a blackberry but it sure does come close. I love the Symbian OS, I have had 4 previous smartphones before (all Windows Mobile 5.0) and none of the were document editing capable just viewing, if you wanted a document editor you would have had to get a Pocket PC which almost always comes with touchscreens, and I absolutely hate touch screen, so this this was a definate positive for me. The music player, the infared, bluetooth, the printing software, and etc. were definate pluses very good video and picture Quality. The Symbian OS runs sort of like Mac OS, similar interfaces. However the phone is freakishly slow, it has, I believe, a 230 Mhz processor, which is definately not enough, so multiple applications at once,..... Forget About It....!! So come on Nokia!! The U.S. version also does not come with wifi, this is a major, no no. So now I will sum it all up for you.

Pros:
1) Mini USB port (E61 comes with pop port)
2) 2.5 mm dedicated Music Jack
3) Many connectivity options (infared, bluetooth, Modem, etc., all of which are amazingly quick to send files or pictures!)
4) Themes Changer (change themes easily)
5) Very Slim, and sleek (14mm in width)
6) Long Battery Life, so far (not sure, new phone so I really am not sure)
7) Comfortable Qwerty Keyboard
8) Awesome OS, attractive (Symbian OS 9.1, S60 3rd edition)

Cons:
1) Slow (230 Mhz. Processor)
2) Joystick (really uncomfortable, E61i fixes this problem)
3) No integrated Wi-Fi :(
4) No 3G
5) Only Cingular offers this phone, and I believe cingular needs to be destroyed, horrible customer service!!

Overall: The goods definately outweigh the bad, however one can't help but forget the exclusion of Wi-Fi, the speed at which it processes information and the annoying joystick that I want to break!! Overall worth the $160 I paid from Ebay!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

PSN81 submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I recently switched to a Nokia E61 from a BlackBerry 8700G. In most aspects, the E61 is far superior.
I have found 4 major problems/peeves with the device/software:
1) Can't find a way to adjust the text size for the desktop and for the basic applications (can do it inside word processor and Web browser).
2) There is no autotext or predictive typing support
3) The device can't charge through its USB cable; one must use a separate charger cable; seems rather silly.
4) There is no external antenna slot/port. I'm in many locations where my service only works with an external active signal boosting antenna (and just like with the BB, there is no way to connect it directly).
A more minor peeve is that switching between the applications is slow; and the system does hang now and then, requiring a cold reboot (removing the battery, etc.). Also minor is the fact that there are very few accessories for it.
If anyone has found a solution or workaround these issues, please contact me.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jhcombs submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

I like gadgets. I have been waiting for one of these smart phones to come down to a reasonable price. When Cingular had the E62 for $99, I jumped.
The phone is a brick. It is large, heavy, and rectangular. I didn't really mind that too badly at first... I realize that you have to increase the size when you pack so much into a phone. Eventually, I got tired of lugging it around though.
My main gripe is with the response time. When I hit a button, I want to instantly be taken to that menu. I don't think that's too much to ask since other phones do it nicely. For example, when I hit the send button to bring up the log of dialed calls, it would take a full three seconds to fill the screen with that information. Going between menus is slow. I tried out my frinds Treo 650 to see if they reacted similarly. No, the Treo instantly responded to my commands. My wife and I both had this phone and both of them were extremely slow. Having the full qwerty keyboard isn't all it's cracked up to be. I am much faster with my itap than with these little keyboards.
Bluetooth reception was terrible! If the phone was strapped on to my left and my plantronics headset was on my right then I would get static. If I sat the phone down and walked more than 4 or 5 feet away, I would start to get static. My new phone, the Motorola V365, I can set it down and walk 20 or so feet away and it will work great.
This phone has some good features on it... email... internet..etc. I just don't want to pay $40/month to be able to use that stuff. I'm happy with my new regular old flip phone now.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

gendur submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

You need to sign up for push email service, like Blackberry, to fully appreciate this phone. BB's online interface makes adding multiple email accounts stupid simple and having push syncing for email is great. Not sure how other's tolerate other email services where the phone has to log on every 15 minutes or so to pull their messages like Cingular's Medianet email service which was annoying.

Once I called Cingular and put BB on my E62 I have close to my ideal phone (for the next few months anyway). Yes, the OS does lag between apps, and I appreciate the beautiful screen, call clarity, long battery life, and head-turning uniqueness. It is no wider than my old BB 8700 and just a bit longer and more square (it just looks bigger because of the metal finish). The joystick is easy once you get used to the side to side and push to select functions.

Coming from both BB and TMobile's 8125 I highly recommend this device for phone junkies like me.

I would rate this a 5 if you could charge via USB and if the OS were snappier.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Doc Drilla submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

This is a phone worth buying if you have the money for it. I am currently testing the phone and I do have my own pros and cons about this device:

PROS:
Simple-to-use interface.

Sound clarity is excellent, especially with the speaker, as it is hella loud.

Blackberry Push on the device works beautifully.

Signal stays steadily over 4 bars on the device.

It maybe wide, but I do like the thin-appearance.

Full, QWERTY keyboard for the quick-fingered.

Large screen makes web-browsing beautiful and with the EDGE technology, this one's a no-brainer.

Intuitive business apps.

Expandable with mini-SD card. The device I'm testing comes with 80MB built-in memory.

The battery life is brilliant. Never had a smartphone I could keep off the charger for about 2 days and still have juice in it.

CONS:
Symbian O/S does have a nerve-wrecking slow response when accessing everything (this is the biggest complaint I have about the device).

No camera (I really don't count this one as a con since it is a business device but for those who want more entertainment, look elsewhere).

Nav-stick is too small (you will occasionally veer off direction wherever you try to move the cursor to).

Not much support or extra apps available for the device.

Overall, the E62...supertight!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

jwaltner submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

The Nokia E61 is the best phone ever! The reasons are very simple. The battery life is amazing. With heavy use of the phone and data you have to charge it once every 2 days. The best feature of this phone is all the programs and themes that are available. It looks as if it is endless. The wi-i on the phone works great and the qwerty keyboard is laid out beutifully. I really feel this is the best phone out right now. If you are in to the newest and greatest, you MUST pick up a Nokia E61.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

AWAR submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Pros/Cons
Screen: is phenomenal, I like the screen saver, that allows you to see if you have any missed calls, voice mails, text messages, E-mails, everything.
Keyboard: is awesome and I look forward to texting, back light on Keyboard is beautiful.
Speed: Is good, can be a bit sluggish if you've got too much going on at once, however I've never had a phone where I could be checking my E-mail, on the phone, scheduling appointment, and text messaging all during a phone call.
Looks: A bit bulking but I love the way it sits in my hand, and you can always get a bluetooth so you don't have this brick to the side of your head. I might add that the bluetooth works great (Motorola H500). I love the voice recognition it has, all I do is press the side of my head set and speak the name of the person I want to call and it calls that person, with out ever pre recording and setting it up to call certain people from my phone book.
Sound: Is out of this world, I love the call clarity I have (Cingular, So Cal). The sound that comes from the little speaker on the side of this phone is unbelievable. I was also amazed about how easy it was to transfer music over to my phone from my pc. All I had to do was hook it up with the data cable it came with and pop in the cd it came with and it was done for me. Even more impressive is that the songs I transferred over could be used in their entirety as a ring tone.
Battery: I am blown away at how flippin amazing the battery is on this thing; I wish I could take the battery of this phone and inject it into my laptop.

If you want an AMAZING phone/PDA go get this one. You could actually get it for free through Cingular right now, you wont be let down. This phone has helped me tremendously with time management.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

qureshi.zo submitted this review of the Nokia E62 / E61:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Just want to let everyone know that if you haven't gone out and picked up this phone, you NEED to. I am one of those guys who changes phone every 3-5 months and never is able to find that "one" phone. That was until I came across the E61. I have been through every PDA & smart phone out there on the market (believe me when I say that, you've heard of it, I have it). I waited a long time to get my hands on the E61 and the wait was worth it. I bought it unlocked from a shop in Chicago and cant stop telling people how good this phone is.

Everything you need to load on this phone is available on the internet. The Symbian OS is flawless. No problems what so ever with this thing. I use the phone on Cingular's network and it's great. I have included a list of PROS & CONS for you all…

PROS
-	Large bright crystal clear display
-	Excellent battery life
-	Excellent reception (always have full service bars)
-	Sound quality is great on the phone
-	WIFI is perfect (no dropped signals & no interruptions in browsing)
-	I can connect anywhere
-	Software for anything readily available (Push email programs, Google maps, etc.)
-	Symbian OS is easy to use and very compatible with a lot of programs out there
-	Keyboard is perfect for any size hands
-	MiniSD slot (I'm using a 2GB card right now)

CONS
-	Using the wired headset which is included with the phone lowers sound quality. Better to use a Bluetooth headset because it enhances the call quality

All in all this is a great phone. I have also been using the HTC 8525/Hermes and the HTC DASH Windows mobile phones. The E61 blows them away. WM 5.0 is still shotty in my opinion and needs work. Very slow response time compared to the Symbian 60 3rd generation.

If anyone wants to know where to get great applications for the E61/E62, get in contact with me…Hope this helps you all…

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
