this phone with boost service and i couldnt be happier. here are the many pros and very minor cons of this phone.<br /><br />Pros:<br />-Mp3 player is amazingly loud<br />-camera is suprisingly good with videos<br />-can record forever with 1 or 2gb micro sd<br />-keypad is great for texting(keep in mind i use boost)<br />-dont know wat i would do without the autoflip button<br />-micro sd!!!<br />-mp3 buttons are the best<br />-battery life is good for a nextel phone.(make sure you get an extended battery)<br />-new direct talk feature that lets you chirp i860,i870,i880,and i930's for free within 6 miles<br />-very bright and colorful display. wow!<br />-bluetooth. what more could you ask for<br /><br />Cons:<br />-cant set mp3s as a ringtones.come on nextel<br />-not major but the camera builds up lint realatively quick.keep a cotton swab handy.<br />-only other thing i can think of is that you cant change the contrast on the display.<br /><br />the i870 is a great phone to have if you love music, cant live without walkie talkie, or just want to upgrade from a boring phone.take it from somebody who went through a nokia 3595,Siemens CF63,VM Snapper,and i835. this phone places you get around 2-3 bars(Area's Vary) and the camera is great, gotta clean it off once in a while. Really good thing to get for it though is the DATA Cable, which opens up a gateway for your phone as far as customization goes. The cord allows you to put on your own ringtones(Wav) and make your own wallpapers. As well as load Themes. If you don't know what themes are, go on www.YouTube.com and type in 'I870' scroll and you'll see themes and where to get them at in the video. I have never had a phone like this! I have had many prepay cell phones from various companys (Tracfone, T-mobile, Virgin mobile,Cingular, ect.) but never anything like this. I live in Columbus, Ohio. Everyone here uses either Nextel, Sprint, or<br /> Boostmobile. Sprint was nice, but with bad signal, and nextel is too exspensive. But a 16 year old needs to talk! So I gave into my needs and got a boost with the money from my summer job. I have to say this phone took a little getting use to. But once i got the hang of it, it was worth every penny. All 3,000 of them. I even went out and got a 1.0 GB transflash memory card.<br /><br />Pros:<br />The Mp3 player on it is supererb!<br />Nice big screens on the cover and the main.<br />Number pad is nicely spaced.<br />Nice crisp sounds.<br />Signal is almost always full bars.<br />Batterylife isnt bad at all. (Charge every night)<br />Buttons on the front keep me as lazy as ever!<br />Camara is great for thoughs unexspected, but important moments. Its very good and crisp pictures and takes better pics then my boss's 3.1 mp camara.<br />Great color on it! <br />Everything on it is great except for the cons.<br /><br />Cons:<br />Not very "New-user" friendly<br />Needs attention. Its takes time to understand this phone.<br />You cant change the background on the front screen.<br />Its soo cool i dont want to get it scratched!<br />Camara lens attracts lint. (Nothing a cotton swab cant fix.)<br /><br />From this i can conclude only this: If your thinking of getting this as the first cell phone you have ever owned, you might want to look else where. This phone is complicated but for people who have the time to learn it, and the exspeirence of other cell phones and Mp3 players, this phone will serve you well! I have the i860 and it has been a reallt reliable phone. I went this past Saturday and upgraded to the 870. My main reason was for the bluetooth. A mistake. Like others have said in their reviews the bluetooth on this model SUCKS! It snaps crackles and pops unless you are motionless and the phone is less that 2 feet from your head. I tried Motorola, Logitech and Blue spoon headsets and all were the same. <br /><br />Pros: <br />1. Great resolution on both screens. Can see them very well in bright light.<br />2. NIce looking phone.<br />3.As with all Nextel phones the volume is awesome.<br /><br />Cons: <br />1. Bluetooth SUCKS!<br />2. BIG as a brick<br />3. The price. Even at my corporate upgrade price I paid $222<br /><br /><br />I took the 870 back for a refund after just 2 days.
