killmeimbill submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

This was my first walkie-talke/direct-connect phone. I found the battery life good. I never had anymore than two "reception bars" but all my calls were very clear and I hardly ever dropped a call. The ringers were VERY loud and the phone itself was tough. Once again the phone would have been a lot better had it not been prepaid. It had a pretty good screen. The voice dial feature was very helpful. This is a great phone and it is a shame that it is still not sold in stores.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Matthew88 submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I bought this phone at Wal-Mart for around $40, and it included $10 of air time. The reason I bought it is because Nextel is the only carrier my small town has. I used to have a Nextel phone, but we canceled the service on it due to amount increases on the bill. With the prepaid it's a flat rate. I like this phone because it's construction is tougher than my old i265 phone. Also, it actually got better reception than my i265, and I like it because it has a built-in antenna that you don't have to pull out every time you make a call. As Bandu said, they do not seem to have too many local numbers, and they couldn't even give me a phone number in my area code. The area they gave me a number for is 60+ miles away from me, so that also meant that the long distance number did away with a local Direct Connect number either. In addition, I have a Nextel data cable, and I hooked it up to the phone, and it worked well, I was able to add ringtones, applications and wall papers using WebJAL (Now MyJAL MediaPAL). Another good thing about this phone is that it comes with a program called GPS Locate. With it, you can find your approximate location, and see how fast you are going, etc. It will also help you get back to where you saved markers at. In closing, if you are going to get this phone with Boost, make sure they have a local number for you, but other than that, I find this phone a great phone AND tool.

PROs:
• Good Construction
• Easy To Use
• Good Reception
• GPS Enabled

CONs:
• No Local Numbers for me

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

At first, I did not want this phone (I wanted the i455). But I ended up loving this phone after about a week. Everything is just as expected.

Pros:
-Walkie talkie is great
-Never got a dropped call
-Good reeption
-Color creen is crisp
-Fast reaction (receiving calls, surfing web, navigating menu, sending texts)
-Never had any sort of problem what so ever
-All features are fully functional
-Rugged (very)
-Really affordable (not "cheap" because cheap is whack)

Con:
-Poor battery life (but thats what's always included in boost/nextel phones)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

lotsophones submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

The i415 is a heavy, LOUD, phone that just screams out Motorola 1995. It has a tiny display, a web browser that can't even save bookmarks, and must be charged daily.

The text input procedure is different for every program, I still can't find punctuation with confidence, and the manual says very little on the subject. The instructions also say to extend the antenna, but unless someone glued mine down, it is not extendable.

Fortunately, its Java system works well, but some of the best programs, such as Opera Mini, are not officially available and must be loaded through a data cable using a hacked version of an internal use only, Motorola program.

It can be tethered to a laptop and used as a USB modem giving a usable speed of around 22 Kbps, though on both of my computers, I have to reload the drivers almost every time I use it.

The internal GPS works well with programs such as Mologogo and Geocache Navigator, though it often responds very slowly and occasionally produces fixes that are miles off the mark.

I bought it at Wal-Mart for $30 intending to use it for data only but keeping an open mind to adopting Boost as my prepaid carrier, but now that I've had it for a while, I prefer to have 2 phones.

To summarize, if you want to know what would happen if a congressional committee designed a phone, look no further.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

recyclewireless submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I have owned and operated on just about every Motorola for Nextel there is. This phone is has a legacy of less than desirable previous models leading up to its predecessor the i275. Finally, Motorola got it right in the i415.

The i265 was my all time favorite motorola phone, until now. The i415 is pretty much just an i265 with a new housing.

It MAY be slightly faster in the software department. Or maybe I think that because i have more recently been using the dirt slow Virgin oyster/slice/marble series.

I bought this for its new looped GPS feature that I plan to use for my business. Everything works fine except for that feature for which I bought it. But that seems to be an issue with LOOPED and not BOOST.

This is important: I can hold this phone and use it without fumbling it every time I pick it up! Try that with a Razr! Few phones are made to be ergonomic anymore.
This is a perfect marriage of functionality and form.

Screen is far smoother than the i710 lineage.

Pros:
Ergonomic.
Cool look and feel.
Typical Nextel reception. (Questionable but not handset related)
A bit tougher than previous i265 making it ideal for business use.

Cons: Well, I cant think of any so I will stretch it. It would have been nice if this version of the i265 had the Moto-talk (Direct Talk) feature built in. But I must state that I'm not even sure BOOST enables that feature anyhow. It may be restricted.

PS. If your battery does not keep a GREAT charge. its not the phone. Its you who failed to read the directions and are now blaming your phone for your ignorance.

Turn off your extended apps.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

yanike submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

If you are looking for a phone to have as a main for cheap get the i455. It's just as good as the others. This phone I only would recommended if you are really low on cash, need a phone to have on a sudden trip or just a night phone.

I've had this phone before and upgraded to the i855 :) Which I gave the i855 phone to a friend and now I'm using the 7520 Nextel Black Berry on boost mobile. I'll be getting the i415 again for night use since I like it enough the first time I had it.

Boost services might not have the best signals, but they don't screw you like Tmobile does. Biggest bill I've had with Boost going over $90 because they let you buy more minutes, tmobile $159 to $289. That's ****ing ridicules! That's almost 4 months worth with boost mobile paid in one month to TMobile. I'm sticking with Boost for now on.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The walkie talkie is the best. It is better than my CRAPPY virgin mobile i have. The ringers are loud, the walkie Tuckie is loud and the battery life is ok. Thing i really like is that it could have a picture book and picture id with out a camera. oh! i forgot to tell u that u could record and use it as a mp3.
Pros
The walkie takie is good
loud ringers
Recorder
picture id
photo album
its only 49.99
boost has good custumer service
good reception(singal)
very, very durable almost like the nextel consruction phones
Cons:ok battery life

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Bandu submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

I bought this phone as a result of a job change. The company I work for uses Nextell phones, so I got a Boost phone. I can honestly say that I really liked this phone. The walkie talkie feature was excellent and the phone had a good color screen with download and picture viewing capabilities. I found the phone aesthetically pleasing as well. As far as performance, I uses the Nextell network. In the area that I now reside, it is overall good. There were no signal issues, except for this dead spot that most networks struggle with, my home. With that aside, I found the battery life acceptable, and the phone just fun to use. Unfortunately, I had to return it. I seems that in Brownsville, Tx, Boost does not have any local numbers. That was a big no no with my wife who wanted to call me without incurring ld charges from home.

Pros: good looking sturdy phone. color screen with downloading and picture-viewing capabilities. good battery life for Motorola phone.

Cons: No local number in my area.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I own a NEXTEL store and sell approx. 20 of this particular model EVERY week. If you know anything about NEXTEL and Boost Mobile, you already know that they lack many features that phones from T-Mobile or Cingular have. You would also know that ALL Nextel phones have poor battery life. No its not because they're junk, its because the phones use a lot of power when using the Direct Connect. Again, if you know anything about NEXTEL or consulted someone about the phone before you took it off the rack at Walmart, you would know that the phone is much better than its previous model, the i215 and i285. Like I tell my customers, make sure you ask any questions before you purchase a phone because I can tell you a lot more than a brochure or you can. Peace out and Happy Holidays!!!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

timbrusky submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

Just bought this phone today and have to say it is very different in what I am used from Sprint, I tryed this phone out for qulity and for better coverage if possible and heres what I came up with.

Pros:
.Good reception(compared to my contract account with sprint like 100% better)

.Much lighter than my sprint phone
.Very louid hearing the other person

Cons:
.Didn't like the fact that when you talked to someone it would echo not sure what that was about, but as soon as I put the person on speaker phone it went away

.Quality of the phone it sounded different that the cdma network I am used to

.Chargered the phone like it said in the book and it dies fast

.Menu is very hard to find thing on this phone

. Not to happy with no alarm clock on it
.Noticed at times when Im talking to someone that it would beep or something

.Not to happy that the other person sounds like I am yelling in the phone and I say I am not

.Dont like the fact its not voice activted to call someone

All in all its an ok phone but it lacks alot. I am very disoppinted in this phone. The reason why I bought is to see if when I switch to nextel to see if I will get better recetion, and found yet it did like 100% better which I am haoppy it covers country sides inside stores where my sprint would not work. I like the fact no roaming. I dont even use the roaming feature on sprint they charge to much per minute to use other networks. I also like the fact the walkie feature, but havent found anyone to see how this feature works yet, if it works the why I think nextel will be great I would like someone to walkie talkie to see how this things works.

183*699*1343

Its a good phone for starting out with bad credit and I dont have either. and it cheaper than tracfone, which is another plus, would be nice if boost mobile would drop the n&w to 7pm instead of 9pm, but its a great phone either way.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I mostly use this phone for the walkie~talkie feture this phone has 7 stages of volume and I have not had to raise it above a 4 !!.YES this phone was made to talk and thats just why I bought it and my I say it dose a great job at that.. so if your looking for a reliable phone and NOT camera this phone rates an easy 8 :)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

SiDeKiCk 2 submitted this review of the Motorola i415:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

This phone is the worst phone probably created by the motorola company. All motorola phones have problems, but this particular phone has the most problems. I got to test this phone out at the place i work at which is Boost mobile/ Nextal. This phone is strong made phone so that it does not get damaged easily, the phone picks up reception good to, but the phone keys are to hard to press and all the keys don't light up the ringer is all that loud but better than a lot of motorola phone ringers. The phone doesn't contain a lot of features and the feature are useless as well. This motorola phone is bulit only to talk and nothing more then that.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
