The image quality when taking photos was really good, and even if the video recording only had about 30 seconds to it per video, it was still fun to randomly record me and my friends doing dumb stuff. I got this phone when I was 15 (about 7 years ago) and it STILL holds up. I have had this phone for almost 2 years now and have never had any problems.<br /> <br />Pros:<br /> Phone works just like a basic cell phone should.<br /> Display is easy to read.<br /> Blue-tooth worked fine.<br /> Camera is average at best, but what can you expect from a 1mp camera phone.<br /> The sounds and lights profiles are a cool extra.<br /><br />Cons:<br /> Only 1 major problem with this phone I have had is the outside PTT button. You can't seem to disable it even if you don't use PTT. I was sadly disappointed by a few things.<br /><br />Pros:<br />*Looks good, I like that I could change the faceplate on the phone if desired.<br />*Easy to maneuver.<br />*Camera is decent, but not the best.<br />*Sound quality was decent.<br /><br />Cons:<br />*Backlighting goes out fairly quickly, I'm thinking within 10 seconds.<br />*Not a lot of screen options.<br />*Easy to lose calls if you're pulling it out of your pocket. <br />*Have went through two of the previous models and two of the current models because the screens go completely out.<br />*Battery life was not that great. <br />*Vibrate alert is soft, cannot feel it if it's in your back pocket. <br />*Not incredibly loud. Which if you have kids, is a must!<br /><br />So, there you go. First phone blue tooth blew out after 2 days. 2nd phone the screen suddenly went white, but the phone could still make/receive calls (but of course you couldn't see anything). This last one the screen died AND the phone won't work either. Very frustrating! Our other identical phone that my wife has just crashed like #2 above, so I can't help believing that this is a common quality problem. Even before these screeen problems, the phones would occasionally "crash", where the call drops, and the phone completely locks up, and the only way to fix it is to hold the power button for 30sec to turn it off, wait for a few minutes, and then power it back up.<br /><br />On the good side, the phone does get decent reception, although the signal strength fluxuates dramatically like some other people have mentioned. Talk time seems to be good, as I have been on the phone for several hours before and never ran out of battery.<br /><br />All things considered, I'd stay away from this phone. Considering that AT&amp;T requires a 2yr contract period and the phone only has a 1yr warranty, that's a problem. And when they replace a phone under warranty, they only give you coverage back to the ORIGINAL contract date. Two months later mine blanked out, sent for another, a month later my boyfriends blanked out, sent for another. Mine blanked out again within two months of getting the last one, a month later his blanked out. I am on this web sight trying to find a differant phone cause Cingular only wants to give us this one and they have a defect to them. I have never had so many phones of the same type do the same thing over and over and they still wont call it a defect. Since then, I have had three different cell phones, all good, but nothing can compare with the Sony. The sound quality was always clear, as well as the ringtones. STEREO QUALITY is always what I got. The light effects were very convenient, especially when the phone is on silent mode. . .I could tell it was ringing from across the room.<br /><br />The all around features, style and signal reception of the phone was more than adequate, and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new phone. Within a year every one of these phones have had severe problems.<br /><br />In particular, three have problems charging and one has stopped taking a charge altogether. One (mine) has lines across the top half of the display making it impossible to read the top half of the screen. And in one the sim card just stopped working.<br /><br />In addition to what I consider quality defects, this phone suffers from design defects -- the camera button is located precisely where one normal grabs the phone. A forgivable mistep if the manufacturer had programed a way to lock the camera, but they didn't, so I also have hundreds of pictures of the inside of my pocket and the mirror of my car. <br /><br />It also bugs me that the main button on the menu is for buying stuff. The buttons were large enough that I didn't have to use my fingernail, the calls were clear, and it is one tough little phone!!<br /><br />Mine got ran over by a car when I sat it on the roof of my car to unlock the door. I forgot about it and drove off while it was still on the roof. Luckily, my backseat passenger saw the phone flying through the air, and we stopped to pick it up ... just as another car came by and ran right over it. :( The only problem with the phone was that the inside screen had white lines on the top half. Other than that, the calls were perfect and everything else was fine. It lasted me almost a year after that before things started to go haywire.<br /><br />Then, it started dropping calls left and right. I can't say that it was the phone, because my husbands was fine.
