snoopy_rulz submitted this review of the Panasonic Allure EB-TX310:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

There are two of these phones in my family. We have had them for about 2 years, and they have been good phones for the most part. However, For the past few months, both of the phones seem to run out of battery life extremely fast. My sister calls me with her phone, and in the middle of the conversation, her phone goes dead. This happens even if she is on the charger.
Other than that, the buttons are too small, and the screen is green. Too old, but it gets the job done.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

volcs submitted this review of the Panasonic Allure EB-TX310:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

My two requirements for a phone are:

1. Excellent reception
2. Indestructable

The Allure has had impecable reception, even in places that would be a black hole for my V60.

And, this phone is practically indestructable. My kids play with it, toss it around, drop it, etc. It is completely scuffed up and scratched - but it keeps working without problems. The antenna seems to be unbreakable. One time, after a particularly hard fall, it stopped working. I traced the problem to an aftermarket battery I had purchased from eBay. $8 later, I had a new battery and was up and running again.

If you don't need a lot of bells and whistles, I recommend this phone without hesitation.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

User Review: Greate phone for the $$, but not perfect

jevid submitted this review of the Panasonic Allure EB-TX310:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

After much research, I bought the Allure to replace my Nokia 8260. I've been using it for a week & I'd like to share my Pros & cons.

Pros:

Size: Not as small as the 8260, but that's a good thing. I find the Allure easier to hold & use.

Weight: Light as a feather. You can easily forget it's in your shirt pocket.

Reception: Because of the external antenna, it gets better reception than my 8260. The Allure pulls in a stronger signal more places.

Speakerphone: Great for checking voice mail when you have to listen & write things down. The sound quality is fine, but not really loud. It's fine to use at your desk though.

Backlight: It's a "real" backlight; not side lit Led's. It's uniformly bright & very easy to read.

Voice Dial: Works well but voice commands recorded using the headset don't always work right when you don't use the headset. Not a problem, since most of the time I use the voice dial, it's on my headset in the car.

Voice memo: Easy to use & handy for recording a phone number or directions from somebody.

Modes: Easy to switch between "Normal" & "Quiet" mode. Those are the only two "profiles" the
phone has, but it's easier to switch between them than changing profiles on a Nokia.

Voice Mail Alert: Louder than a Nokia, but like Nokia, no vibrate for new voice mail.

Cons:

Earpiece sound quality isn't nearly as good as Nokia. It's not very loud (but loud enough) and kind of "tinny" sounding. Callers report the sounds is good on their end. I feel it has better noise cancellation than my 8260.

Battery life: Two days max of normal usage. If you are on the phone for
hours a day, this phone will not do.

I think this phone is good for the money; I paid $73 . I like the phone very much, and although am somewhat disappointed with the earpiece sound quality, am planning on selling my Nokia 8260, and keeping this one for the year.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

ThrustinJ submitted this review of the Panasonic Allure EB-TX310:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

This is a wonderful phone for those not worried about Internet access.

I feel it is a wonderfully small phone without the cheap plastic feeling of some of the other phones out there. It has crystal clear sound quality while only getting mediocre signal strength. I use it at my office building and people tell me I sound like I'm on a land-line. The speaker-phone option is also a great feature. I've placed it on my desk about a foot-and-a-half away and, again, people say it has great sound quality. No "cell-yell" here. Another great sound related option is the voice commands to control anything from dialing numbers to calling up 20 different and useful menus.

The buttons on the phone are relatively flat, so touch typing on the phone takes a bit getting used to. The navigation button works quite well and, like all the buttons on the phone, is nice and stiff.

Rounding out a great phone are one-touch message retrieval and Super Dial, assigning phonebook numbers to number keys to dial a number instead of using the phone book.

No complaints on this phone. Try going to Yahoo and joining the PanAllure group to get some more information from other Allure users.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
