Woogie submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I purchased a V360 through the T-Mobile employee purchase program over two years ago. Since it was the cheapest EDGE capable phone you could get at the time, there were a lot of people at my work who had them. I know of at least a dozen. Out of all of them, I only heard of one person having trouble with it, and that was some lines on the screen.

As far as my V360 goes, the only issue I've ever had with it aside from the normal nicks and scratches is that some of the lettering on the outside has rubbed off. I now have a phone that says Mobile instead of T-Mobile.

I haven't been especially careful with it, having accidentally dropped it once or twice on a hard surface from high enough so that the battery popped out. The hinges are still tight, and the screen is still bright and clear. The screen resolution still impresses me. The clarity of the calls is good, and I don't have any problems with dropped calls.

Bluetooth does tend to drain the battery quickly, so I purchased an extended battery from Motorola. Now I can go for over a week without recharging.

I've also had a lot of success using the phone as a modem with Motorola Phone Tools. I can use either USB or Bluetooth, but I tend to use USB since the phone can charge off the USB port.

The only things I don't like about it is that you can't use the headset jack is mono, and the MP3 player doesn't work over a Bluetooth headset.

These days when you're lucky if a phone lasts half of your 2 year contract, the V360 has been a very solid and dependable phone. I'll be hanging onto mine until T-Mobile goes to a 3G broadband network, and then it will probably be recycled within the family. I have no doubts that it will last that long, and I would not hesitate to recommend the V360 to anyone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

lindsaylove100 submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I recently lost this phone after owning it for a year and i have to say that it was an amazing phone. I got a new phone (Motorola V3c) and I am in desperate longing for my old phone. It was spectacular! Some of the things that this phone had that my new razr doesn't are:
- MP3 player (I couldn't live without it!)
- memory card slot
- you could turn off the shutter sound!!!!
- much longer battery life
- the pictures you took could be set as your wallpaper and fill the space, whereas the V3c has to tile the pictures in order for them to fill the entire screen

The one thing I like about my Razr is it's thinness as I always found that my V360 was rather bulky in my pocket.

Although it is not carried by retailers anymore, if you can find one of these phones, GRAB IT before it's gone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

To my knowledge I've never really had any problem with this phone that I didnt have with any other, actually if so it was very minimal.. I wanted to buy the razr v3 but got this instead and later purchased that razr, and let me tell this phone beats that thing hands down.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

cabits submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I have had two of these splendid phones and not because I wanted to but because the first one couldn't pick up the carrier signal from 100 ft away. The replacement wasn't much better. If you need a nice looking paper weight, calender, or clock this is the phone for you but if you need to make a call, to talk with someone, do yourself a favor and don't buy this. I have found Motorola's to have the worst reception of all the makes. All the other makes that are in use in my area work fine,... great reception except for Motorola's.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I absolutely love it! The calls are great i get amazing reception. the mp3 player is great. I get reception everywhere even in elevators! its amazing i think the camera can use improvement. My favorite thing is I'm in my early 20's so have a bunch of wild nights. One of those nights in a moving car i dropped my phone out the window and when i went back to get it i put it back together and it was working just fine. I've dropped it down the stairs, its been thrown everything its amazing how long its lasted. No problem even after all the beatings its gotten. The battery last so long its incredible. By far the best phone ever!

Pro's
Clarity and reception
Durability
Mp3
Battery Life
how easy it is to upload music
Blue tooth
ITS AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Cons
Camera quality need improvement
needs a color front screen
The pic id is pointless because it only when u flip open the phone thats when u choose to answer or ignore so yea pointless!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

chocolateman85006 submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I'm a fan of motorola phones because when they work they work, but when they don't, they don't. Let's face it: this one doesn't. I had problems in its first week. Definitely not worth the $200 i paid for it in February 06 (which may explain why it's now free online).

Cons.
Mp3 worked good.
I like the amount of text messages that it could hold.
Came w/ a 64mb micro SD card (small memory, but I'm grateful for free things).

Pros.
Less than a minute of video per video recorded.
Had to take the battery out cosntantly.
Not every picture came out so good.
Crappy headset. (i had to use different ones)

Motorola is a good company, but the V360 was a bad move in my opinion (thankfully, i'm not alone on that).

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Everyone at work was talking this phone up, saying how great it was. They lied. This phone is the worst phone I've ever had. I love T-Mobile and I love Motorola but what were they thinking when they manufactured this phone. The stupid thing shut off on me like 3-4 times a day and it would always tell me to insert the sim card. I exchanged it 3 times before T-Mobile finally sent me the nokia 6103. I don't care for this phone either but it works a lot better than the V360. There is a reason why its free online. It sucks. I urge people not to get it. It turns out to be nothing but a headache in the end.

Pros:

Bright Screen
Easy Navigation
Good Speaker
OK camera(not bad for a VGA)
Ringtones and MP3 sounded good

Cons:

Screen always shutting off on me
Always telling me to check SIM
Dropped calls all the time
Not very attractive
No color Sub LCD
Had to remove back of phone to remove SD card
Flimsy back of the phone

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

sarahmaru submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Ok, that might be an exaggeration. But this is the perfect phone for me; I reluctantly sent it back because T-Mobile service sucks in my area.

PROS-
MP3 Player
Decent camera (stills & video)
Great datebook
Excellent call quality (when I was able to make a call--I'm in North Louisiana)
Comes with a memory card and can be hooked up to the computer with a USB cord
Bluetooth
Keeps track of the minutes you've spent on the phone; very handy if you're a chronic overager.

CONS-
Phonebook is a little screwy; if you have 5 numbers for Harry, you'll have to make 5 separate "Harry" phonebook entries.
I'm not into games, but the ones on the phone aren't that great.
I'm used to having a delete button on the phone, which this one didn't have. It just takes a couple more clicks to get rid of a picture or message.

Overall, it's a great phone. I didn't have it for very long, but it was enough time to know it's awesome.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

rodney submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I just got off the phone with T-mobile after having the SAME problem with my THIRD V360. 2-3 times per day tis phone will completely lock up. When I open the phone the display is either white or completely blank and no keys will work. The ONLY solution is to take the battery out of the phone and power it back on. T-Mobile states that this is a very common problem and they are discontinuing this model (it is FREE on their website with new activation). They did not want to send me a FOURTH V360 so talked me into the Nokia 6103 as a replacement. I bought a 6103 for my wife a few months back and did not like the menu navigation but need a phone that WORKS! I absolutely loved my Motorola V360 but got tired of not being able to place a call when I needed to and instead having to take 2 minutes to remove the battery (which is hard if you are a man and have short nails) and power the phone back on.

Overall:

Pros:
-Great colorful screen
-Excellent battery life
-Good reception

Cons:
-Occasionally callers complained that they could only hear every other word.
-Phone constantly freezes

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

chanzilla submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

I own a Mac running OSX so this may be helpful to the mac community.

Cosmetically, cool phone. Looks like the others, but the blue/silver finish matches my Zire72 and my Sawtooth desktop.

Just had it for a day, but phone is much louder than my SE T610. Better pictures and finally video! May be crappy compared to other phones, but for a first-timer, it's a welcome feature. Mini-SD card/adapter is also compatible with the Zire and Sawtooth.

OSX notes: just plug it in to USB and the MiniSD card pops up on the desktop. Drag your iTunes songs to the audio folder and they start downloading. Slow, but I usually do it while charging anyway.

Pros:
*OSX compatible
*Bluetooth is easier than SET610.
*MP3 feature doesn't beat iPod, but it's a phone, nice convenient feature for commutes (less to pull out and and carry)
*MiniSD makes sharing files easy.
*Video!
*Battery life

Cons:
*Interface sux.
-Can't take and save a pic or video in two clicks - scrolling is involved.
-Menu isn't intuitive. Too much clicking to do anything EXCEPT get to MP3s and make calls.
-Unless I'm not understanding it right, but 3-digit speed dialing? WTF?!
*Automatically uses SIM for phone book, breaking all my old contancts into individual numbers. So now Bob has three sep entries (h),(w),(f)
*Didn't come with stereo headsets

I'll write more in-depth later, but initially, I'm happy with it, but the navigation is going to be a pill to swallow.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Etorres777 submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for a month already and boy was I impressed. In my opinion it doesn't look very appealing, and odd that it's not "flashy" like Motorola's other phones.

Pros:
-I can go on and on about the fantastic long lasting battery. I've had RAZRs, ROKRs, everything, and NO other phone has had a better battery than this one. I text A LOT and I'd suck up the battery very quick with any other phone, but not with this one. It takes me a whole lot longer.

-Screen is very nice. Takes very nice pictures in the correct lighting. It is just a camera phone so I don't expect 6 megapixel pictures. Video is pretty good as well, don't expect a real video taken by a camcorder though.

-MP3 player is great. It is VERY loud and clear. No limit to how many songs like other Motorola phones with the iTunes application.

-Bluetooth goes very well with this phone, unlike when I had Verizon's LG VX8300 I'd hear a buzzing sound, doesn't do it with this one.

-Call quality and RF are great.

-Everything else is excellent.

Cons:
-Menu lags like every other Motorola. I can tolerate it.

-Battery cover must be taken off to insert/remove MicroSD Memory Card.

Overall a great long lasting phone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

sweetrevenge0852 submitted this review of the Motorola V360 / V361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

this phone is absolutely amazing. i've had a v600, v300, and a razr and this one beats them both. the mp3 player is a great feature. i went and bought the 1 gig card and have 242 songs on this phone. i haven't figured out how to use a song as a ringtone yet, but i feel confident i will if i just use the manual. its got great call quality and the reception is better than my v300 (bleh).the camera is very high quality. i do wish it had an external color screen, but there is really no need. the speaker is in an odd position at the bottom, but thast okay because it sounds fine. some reviewers say they need to get special software to transfer music files, but windows media player works great. i do wish it had a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, but i intend to find an adapter. all in all, absolutely spectacular phone. A+

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
