pc_loadletter submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

I do enjoy this phone. It can view word documents and play games and listen to mp3s. I will be upgrading to a bigger memory card though as the one included is small. It gets great signal and I am located in Brandon, MB. Easy to use but the buttons are small. I would recommend this phone to users who want a phone that is Mid range to advanced.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

kumaratp submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

using past 9-months, and its really bad. Didnt think that Nokia makes a bad phone too. I am using firmware v 4.65 from April 2006.
Problems:
- phone freezes frequently, had to LITERALLY take out battery, and put back in. if hung, the battery gets drained fast.
- Very low volume on ear piece, always have to keep at level-10 to barely hear the otherside voice. If talking on phone during wind, you cant even hear the voice, literally turn the speaker phone and put it to ear [no kidding, & I am not deaf either].
- User Interface is not well organized compared to other phones like blackberry.
- weird way of adding reminders/metting notes.
-You cannot get to "Contact Details" from Dialed or received number menus [bad design]. goto phone book and search again.
- cannot easily change ring tones. tough because of bad UI organization.
- If you lock the keypad, and it will not get lighted-up during night after pressing a key. You have to press the side button, then read the unlock instructions, and do remaining stuff...
- Big screen, but dont use screen space wisely.
- No 2.5mm jack, have to use flaky ear phones with connector at bottom.

Pluses:
- Good reception of signal.
- Big screen
- Configurable buttons,
- Good software PC Suite , synchro with PC address book.

I reported all these problems to nokia, all they said, is take it to near by store for repair [if they can]. otherwise, the phone is like that by design. It was strange to hear from NokiaUSA.com support that "We follow volume guide lines as set by FCC"... which was funny to hear... as if Nokia is the only company that follows FCC guidelines.
Well, why is the thing called "Volume Control" that every phone has, after all, to adjust volume to personal preference... isn't it?????

Before this I was using Samsung SGHX295, and it really had good reception & good ear piece & speaker phone volume. It had bad phone book organization.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

claudiaisa5 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

One of the best phones out there. So wish I had acted sooner. They are still available from the nokia website for free w/contract on Cingular. Not one bad thing to say except a little large but you get used to it and a small price to pay for how great it is at everything else. Reception is beyond compare with ANY phone. I have had phones for 20 years, since the brick phone days and have never been so impressed with a phone. Get one now why you can.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Krane9 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I've owned the 6682 for almost a year now and I must say that this is, by far the best mobile phone I've ever owned!

Pros:
1) Very, very nice camera! The special lense makes the photo quality as nice as, in some cases, better than some popular digital cameras.

2) The flash works like a camera flash ought to

3) Overall sound quality is superior, i.e. mp3, ringer alerts and voice, which brings me to...

4) Signal strength: When none of my friends can get a signal on their phone, they use mine! 'nuff said.

5) Total web browsing is a breeze on this phone

6) Fully loaded with tons of usefull applications, especially for when it comes to imaging!

7) Multi-tasking bluetooth function has made me very spoiled.

8) Sturdy and durable; accidentally spilled liquid on it and still works like nothing happened

9) Although the look and feel of the plastic sliding camera lense cover worried me at first, over time, I've come to appreciate it's durability. Since there's no real camera button on the phone, simply slide the cover down; when you're done, slide it back up. It will stay put. Do buy a case to protect your device and it will take care of you.

10) Opens email attachments and supports MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files!

Cons
1) Had to buy reduced size memory cards and phone case online from a European company. At least now, the reduced-size memory cards are available inn the U.S. now.

2) Phone does freeze up and reboots itself, but not often enough to get my feathers ruffled

In conclusion, It's a great smartphone that can do as much as a PDA (I got rid of my Treo). If you go out somewhere and realize you forgot your camera, the 6682 is an excellent stand-in. The video capture and playback is also great. By now there are newer models out on the market, but the 6682 is still a strong contender. It is supported by Cingular, but they discontinued it (you'd have to purchase it through Nokia). Worth the investment.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

larue26 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I have used the following phones, Nokia 6590i, Motorola SLVR L7, RAZR, V551, Sony Ericsson T630, W300, and played around a little with the W800i. I paid $18.00 for my Nokia 6682 online. It is proabably the best phone I have ever used.
pros:
Symbian 60 Smart phone (Sony W810i is a feature phone and has a small *** screen)
Great Screen
Upgradeable to 2GB
Music Player
Great Reception (better than any other phone)
Ear piece volume is terrific
Pictures look great
Great Camera (pictures look really good)
Can add a multitude of programs
It is almost like a mini-computer
Not too heavy
Comes with earphones, 64mb card
Can play songs on bluetooth headset
Syncs perfectly with my Apple Powerbook G4

Cons
Not enough internal memory

This is a top notch phone and I recommend that you get one before they are all gone.

Also bought the Nokia bh800 bluetooth headset! Works really great and has great reception.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

What was good was good and what was bad was bad.

Pros:
Really nice camera/video, to say the least.
It was a bar model. I favor bar models.
It held many text messages (at least 400 in and 400 out).
I loved the wide array of features.
Videos played on Real Player.
It's nokia. I like that brand.

Cons:
The signal was awful.
My phone often called people often whether it as in my pocket, the case, etc... It made a lot of people pissed off.
Having to constantly lock my phone.
One hour of video was the maximum alloment.

The pros outweighed the cons. Too bad I wasn't able to take it with me to Verizon.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

My first phone was a nokia then I went to Moto now I'm back at nokia.

Some of the PROS are:
light sensor- can see screen during the day outside
music player
MMC card slot
1.3 megapixel camera- very good zoom and flash
decent battery life
Bluetooth- can't live without it
Voice recorder- can use recordings as ringtones and message alert tones if you wish
comes with data cable
comes with 64 MB MMC card

Some CONS are:
can only use the earbuds that come with the phone.
I can't figure out how to put pictures on my phone from my computer (or if it's possible)

Overall it's a very good phone. I highly recommend it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

sowhatsowhat10 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

i have been a big fan......okay WE ALL have been big fans of nokia for the longest. form the outside looking in the phone doesnt look like its feature filled but it does have a classy and profressional look. after 1 hour of owning this phone the only thing i was upset about was the fact i got mine in april, 2006 and not august, 2005 when it was 1st released. (but hey i got mine for free at a cingular training (i showed one of the trainers up).
above all of the goods this phone offers somehow nokia has stayed true to its roots: battery life, and rf. with that said here is what i think:
PROS:
SIZE. not 2 big not 2 little. it has a nice feel when in the palm of my hand.

RECEPTION AND CLEARITY. this phone graps signal everywhere. example my aunts basement where no phone has every gotten signal. this phone was abel to hold a call with no audio problems.

EDGE DATA. this phone makes edge seem like a dream to use.

MP3 PLAYER. i have yet to really use this feature on this phone. but i did manage to fing one con: no equlizer or sound adjustments. (atleast that i've found) and i looked. but thats okay. because this next pro fixes that/

SYMBIAN SERIES 60. with this software i can add almost WHATEVER i want. example i have a call interrupt feature (purchased in a pack on ebay) this symbian software tricks folks into thinking i am in a busy place and cant talk at the time.

GPS capable. WOW! i havent gotten the bluetooth gps adapter yet buy wayfinder is hot. beyond those features this phone is able to pull up word documents, adobe pdf's, power point, and excel spread sheet.

CAMERA. 1.3 mega pixel that shuts all other camer phones down. and it has auto flash.

THEMES. this is standard among most symbian phones but hey its a pro.

CONS:
KEYPAD. texting on this phone can cause irritation.

APPS. mostly all of the are demos and so short your forced to buy to see if you like.

the camera cover feels cheap.

OVERALL: this phone rocks get while you can!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Also, so many applications for this phone you can get. Watch movies like an actual movie music. Almost like a PDA if you ask me its better not too much with the business use but if you want to show off and not feel like getting another phone for like two years get this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

3ntropy submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

i have suffered with my buzzing SLVR for too long, and now i've just bought this phone and it is a true pleasure to use. i love the smart phone features and the extended memory. call quality is fantastic and i get great reception where i previously had none (cingular). i really haven't much to add to the pros and cons except for some minor things.

i had to manually move contacts from SIM to contacts book, which takes time.

i had an issue with "memory low" when i tried to use the camera while other apps were open (WIX).

video quality is poor, but who cares, cause i don't shoot video of my important life events with my phone anyway.

EDGE is blazing, and i feel i will enjoy this phone more than any other phone i've had.

divorce papers will be served to motorola shortly...

(ONE THING to remember is that this is a "smartphone" NOT a PDA)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Tina U submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Well, I've only had this phone for 3 days now? But I've pretty much used it to as much as I'm going to.

I bought this phone from cellularchoices the people were really nice and all.

My mom bought the same phone so yeah. It really appealed to us because of it's compatibility with Asian networks. And we visit India every other year. I was first looking at the SE w600 since I really wanted a music player. The SLVR was absolutely out of the question just because everyone would have it and the speaker quality was really, just gross.

Speaker sound is absolutely amazing. I save my music in mp3 format so the wma DRM thing doesn't bother me at all. Camera's great. It works a lot faster and works more intuitively than my Sony Cybershot (the one in that commercial with the rock star)

The size doesn't bother me at all. I personally don't like the tiny phones because I like to have something in my hand. It's actually a lot thinner than I thought it would be. The weight of it is really nice too. It weighs a little less than an ounce more than my last flip phone which always felt like a plastic toy to me.

Reception and call clarity is awesome too.

This phone is really customizable so, extremely appealing to a young person like myself.

It's something that you're not going to get tired of quickly with all the apps out for Symbian 60.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

alikhan1 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

I had a Motorola V710 with Verizon that i was desperate to get rid off to get to a Nokia 6682 with Cingular, i regret that decision so much now. the 6682 is an absurd phone. the buttons are so small that even my relatively small digits are forever hitting the wrong keys. the volume from the headset is weak and from the speakerphone is abysmal. the speaker phone does not stay on but rather only activates when the call is connected, a good idea in theory but you have to turn it on everytime. not to mention that since it doesn't have a dedicated speakerphone button the softkey that turns the speakerphone on also subsitutes as the end call key before the call is connected. so if you're in a rush to turn the speakerphone you may end up disconnecting the call!! The camera shoots decent photos but the cover keeps sliding open in my pockets.

My biggest gripe however is with the software. nokia have always had amazing UIs. but the symbian OS in the 6682 sucks! instead of having things such as profiles, themes settings in a folder called ummm i don't know "settings" its in a folder called tools where you'd expect to find the calculator or the date book. On top of it the OS is really slow and hangs everytime im in the subway where i can't recieve a signal resulting in a restart. I don't understand why the lack of a signal should prevent me from playing snake but this stupid phone freaks out everytime! the software has so much bloatware and its so difficult to know if any applications are running that it frequently prevents you from taking photos. Imagine your surprise when you've just caught that perfect kodak moment only to have your phone tell you that too many applications are open and it can't store the photos. Bloody retarded. finally the T9 predictive text isn't smart like the Motorola in that it doesn't learn spellings and makes suggestions. so you have to type in the entire word everytime! don't buy this phone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

leefa61 submitted this review of the Nokia 6682 / 6681:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

This Phone is amazing! it is packed with so many great features. I have had sprint for 2 years and could never settle with one phone because none of their phones offered me everything i was looking for including the Treo that froze all the time. So i switched to cingular and i am very happy now especially with this phone. The sound clarity is amazing and the functionality is great. The best thing of it all is it is full functional with my MacBook Pro, I can send text messages from my computer using a bluetooth link and my calender and address book are always synced up and updated with the phone, and i can use it as a modem anywhere. This phone is not for the average user because it takes a while to get used to getting around the phone. I have never given a 5 review for any phone that i have ever purchased but this phone deserves it.

Pros:

*Great sound quality
*Great Bluetooth functions
*Great Bluetooth sound quality
*Great camera (very fast start up too)
*Fast Internet
*Best Browser of any other phone
*Ambient light sensor
*Full Mac compatibility
*Long Battery life
*Nice size screen
*Great reception
*Sends text when you need to ignore calls (its an option)
*MP3 ringtones
*Removable memory card
*Customizable sound profiles (standard on all nokia phones)

Cons:

Speaker-phone is not very loud
Camera cover is a little flimsy

This the best phone i have ever used at any price. Nokia did a great job. I highly recommend this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Its perfect, the size was an issue but my new motorola h700 is the greatest headset I have ever used.
Overall this is the favourite phone of all my 18 phones!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Love every feature however i enjoy my N70 better. Its not in the US because of the FCC standards but i ordered it online and had it shipped. The 6682 is a bit bulky but its very durable and great reception. The speaker is great and i go two to three days with out charging the battery. I just wish the radio would work with my bluetooth.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Reception is excellent,PDA features are great. I previously had the razr and for the same price as the razr I got a phone and a PDA, with the razr all I got was a phone. The razr has no PIM features at all. An address book, that only stored names. $200 is just a little too much to spend simply for a phone just because it is thin. I would recommend the 6682 to anyone who wants phone and a organizer at a reasonable price. Nokia You Did It Again!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
